Weekend Trip to Rosewoods Eco Cabin
Sandra and Henri were wonderful hosts—so warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. Their cabin was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. You can really tell they put thought into the little details. I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway in a beautiful setting. Would definitely come back!

4WD Recommended - dirt/gravel road and two creek crossings (through the creek bed) to get here. We have a whole beautiful valley with crystal clear spring-fed creeks, patches of rain forest and hillsides covered in grass-trees backing onto Wrattens State Forest. There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here. This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here. No mobile phone coverage at the cabin, but there is a hill you can drive (or walk) up on the property to get phone signal if needed and we have a landline phone in our house which can be used in emergencies.

Most people who stay usually fall into one of 2 categories - - 4WD'ers or adventure bike riders who would rather camp overnight in the bush instead of at a caravan park or pub - People who just want a weekend away in the bush with some mates, chilling round a fire with a few drinks If either of those sound like you, I think you'll love it here! There's 2 options to choose from - you can book the campsite only, or the campsite including the cabin. Property features - - Great views - Dogs welcome (just don't let them wander) - Portaloo (flushing) - Shower hut (uses shower bags) - Water available for washing, BYO drinking water - Firewood available - Good phone reception (Telstra) - 2WD accessible via Esk or Crow's Nest, 4WD recommended from Blackbutt - I only accept one group at a time, so you don't need to share with other groups The cabin has 12V lighting and a bunk bed with mattresses (double bottom, single top), you'll need to bring your own bedding. A few other notes - - be aware you'll have to drive on gravel roads for quite a distance. 2WD vehicles can get here, but a 4WD is preferable. The road is rough in a few places - This is not a 4WD park or a ride park. We have several peaceful campsites available on our off grid property near Crows Nest. Also a private glamping site with a 5m Bell Tent - with everything you need for a relaxing night away. We are 10km north of the town of Crows Nest on the Great Dividing Range. 50 minutes from Toowoomba and 2 hours from Brisbane. The hill on the property (Flat Top) is one of the highest points in the area at 700m altitude. From the hilltop, you can enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding area, with views across the Esk Valley towards the Sunshine Coast and sunsets over the hills surrounding Crows Nest. There are 3 separate campsites on the hilltop, and another site further down the hill alongside the main driveway. It is very quiet and peaceful, yet only a 10-minute drive to Crows Nest. Enjoy the spring fed dam in the warmer months. 🏊‍♂️ There is plenty to explore in the area, including: 🏞 Crows Nest Falls National Park (good for a swim) 🐃 Bullocky's Rest and creekside walk in Crows Nest (dog friendly) ☕️ Lovely cafes in Crows Nest (eg. Lily's Artisan and My Little Blueberry), as well as boutique stores (Nolan's Block is very popular, on the highway).
