Hold it Flats is a 120 acre property that borders the beautiful O'Connell River that has water all year round. Take a walk around the property to check out some of the creatures that have been built out of scrap metal and bush bars that have been built all around the property.
There is nice shady trees, green grass and flat camping sites right beside the river with hot showers and flushing toilets. There is plenty of room and some great tracks for the kids and the big kids to ride their push bikes on. The swimming hole is about 2 meters deep and has big shady trees on the edge. There is also enough room for kids to bring their kayaks and have a paddle along the river.
We have some hiking tracks up around the hills of our property that have amazing views of the area.
All campsites can be provided with their own fire pit. You just pick your spot and we will bring a portable fire pit to you. Fire wood can be purchased at the property. All rubbish must be taken when you, there are no rubbish bins provided.

Calen is a small cane growing and cattle town with a general store, pharmacy, service station, butcher and the local pub. Zarby's cafe is a short drive away if you would like to dine in for breakfast or lunch in a retro style setting.
Each site fee is for 2 adults and kids stay at no cost.

You will be camping right beside St Helen Creek, just a throwing distance from the Strawberry Farm which is open during the winter months (July- September).

Fruit Farm Camp offers a peaceful retreat for mature travellers. The unpowered mown campsites are situated ajacent to a farm unfenced dam and on cleared acreage surrounded by natural bush.
After 6 months touring Queensland in 2021 with our own caravan, we decided to develop a picturesque area at the back of our land for mature travellers to enjoy.
20 Years ago the land was virgin scrub, now there are over 300 established different exotic fruit, nut, spice and bush tucker trees and plants. We use a number of different farming techniques. Our own beehives provide pollination and honey. A small farm produce shop is available.
Guests have access to a toilet, solar powered showers and the camp kitchen throughout their stay. Campfires are permitted outside of restrictions and we have firewood available for guests to use on site. There is a 1.5 km undulating bush walk on the property requiring average fitness.
We are located four kilometres from the Bruce Highway at Bloomsbury, access is via sealed road then 300m of gravel road through the farm.
We are just 10 mins from the beach or O'Connell river fishing, 1 hour to Mackay or Airlie Beach, 3 kms to the Dittman Bullarama site and 15 minutes to Bredls Wild Farm. Well behaved pets are welcome.

All campsites can be provided with their own fire pit. You just pick your spot and we will bring a portable fire pit to you. Fire wood can be purchased at the property. All rubbish must be taken when you, there are no rubbish bins provided.

Calen is a small cane growing and cattle town with a general store, pharmacy, service station, butcher and the local pub. Zarby's cafe is a short drive away if you would like to dine in for breakfast or lunch in a retro style setting.
Each site fee is for 2 adults and kids stay at no cost.

You will be camping right beside St Helen Creek, just a throwing distance from the Strawberry Farm which is open during the winter months (July- September).

This campsite offers the perfect experience for the whole family. For an additional fee, you can pick strawberries from July- September. Blueberry picking is from October to January.

Fruit Farm Camp offers a peaceful retreat for mature travellers. The unpowered mown campsites are situated ajacent to a farm unfenced dam and on cleared acreage surrounded by natural bush.
After 6 months touring Queensland in 2021 with our own caravan, we decided to develop a picturesque area at the back of our land for mature travellers to enjoy.
20 Years ago the land was virgin scrub, now there are over 300 established different exotic fruit, nut, spice and bush tucker trees and plants. We use a number of different farming techniques. Our own beehives provide pollination and honey. A small farm produce shop is available.
Guests have access to a toilet, solar powered showers and the camp kitchen throughout their stay. Campfires are permitted outside of restrictions and we have firewood available for guests to use on site. There is a 1.5 km undulating bush walk on the property requiring average fitness.
We are located four kilometres from the Bruce Highway at Bloomsbury, access is via sealed road then 300m of gravel road through the farm.
We are just 10 mins from the beach or O'Connell river fishing, 1 hour to Mackay or Airlie Beach, 3 kms to the Dittman Bullarama site and 15 minutes to Bredls Wild Farm. Well behaved pets are welcome.

We have domesticated donkeys, pigs, goats, sheep, birds etc-please note our animals are free range so please ensure you secure your food and belongings. We love coming to hold it flats and once again we had a wonderful time. We brought new friends along this time and enjoyed showing them around and hiking up the mountain and seeing the changes that have been made up there. We loved our trip so much we ended up extending for 2 extra nights. Once again it was incredibly well maintained and impeccable hospitality by Katie and family.

We had a wonderful stay at Jarravale with our caravan. The facilities were excellent—especially the shower and toilet, which were clean and very well maintained.
The location itself is absolutely beautiful, with a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere that made our stay even more enjoyable. One of the highlights was all the cool and beautiful animals around the property—it really added something special to the experience.
Josie was a fantastic host—friendly, welcoming, and always helpful if we needed anything. She made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
We would definitely recommend Jarravale to anyone looking for a comfortable, scenic, and unique place to stay.

Easy & relaxing. We went for a day vist , from Airlie Beach That i would highly recommend if you live in the area. Kayaks where a plus. The children had a ball & it saved dragig our own down for the day. Highly recommended reef shoes for the rocks.

WELL! Donna and I have been visiting\ camping on a regular basis since Terry & Sue opened their outstanding property initially. We have seen so much progress over virtually a short time with beautiful grassed Creek bank sites, toilet block erected and so many kids activities for free. eg Rock Painting, Push bikes, kayaks & fireplaces at most sites. Come this wet season early ‘26 a huge amount of their hard work was washed away and they lost many campsites. Biggest flood since 1978 they say and 3months out of action for camping 😡. Good old NQ Aussie resilience these buggars worked their arses off to get back into action for the Easter weekend which luckily brought many 👌. If you’re travelling through NQ book a night or 2, you won’t be dissatisfied. R&D 🤫🧐

The creekside camping is spectacular. Creek and Antique always delivers a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
Good options for where to camp, we opted for closer to the creek and enjoyed the views.
Toilet facilities are a bonus.
So glad to have this so close to home.

Wonderous camp site. We stayed at Easter busy period and there was plenty of space for kids to roam, the river is amazing, facilities were clean and well built. We will be back for many camping adventures. A beautiful, green, clean and well provided for unpowered property. Fire pits and even a coffee delivered if you like. Thank you to the owners for all they do make it such an enjoyable experience.

Incredible campgrounds. Well maintained, clean amenities and friendly owners. Kids loved the open space to ride their bikes and explore and the creek was a lovely addition to keep them occupied. Extra bonus was the coffee delivery service in the mornings. We will be booking again shortly.

So spacious! Not overcrowded. Everyone had their own space. Such beautiful grounds and family friendly. Our kids (and us) had a ball! Super accommodating, friendly and little unexpected touches everywhere you turned. Loved it and will definitely be back!
