Ben Lomond Station is an 1800 acre working cattle station 25 minutes south of Bowen and 35 minutes north of Airlie Beach on the Whitsundays. We border onto Eden Lassie Creek which has tidal ocean access for saltwater fishing and there is an abundance of estuary fishing and crab spots available.
We are a nature based camping area. Cleared shady camping spots are available for fully self contained campers as there are currently no facilities available so you must have own camping toilet and leave no trace.
Access to the camping area is for 4WD only with caravans off road and high clearance.
Firewood is available for a small fee or you can collect any fallen timber yourself. There is a ban on cutting down any standing timber even it is dead.
There is plenty of room to run for the kids and dogs though we do ask that your pet not annoy our cattle or other campers.
Ben Lomond station has an abundance of flora and fauna such as burdekin plum trees, mango trees, wallabies, kangaroos and bird and fish species.

We loved the quiet and really enjoyed the cattle (especially the tiny calves ) birdlife and fishing. Saw pheasant coucal for the first time and a pair of brolga. Lots of birdsong for any birdwatchers out there. 😊

I only stopped in for a night heading North and again heading South but could have easily spent week if time allowed. Rob and Colleen were super welcoming.
The camp sites are kept in great condition and a peaceful place with stunning sunsets and rises.

We always love staying here, this was our first time in camp 2 and won’t be our last, it’s tucked away a little from the tracks between camps which meant no passing traffic and the site was huge, the fireplace was perfectly positioned to maximize the sunset and views

Brindabella was a brilliant camp site. Melissa was so chilled and friendly. A short 10 minutes to the centre of Airlie Beach. Ubers & Cabs easy to get into town if you want to enjoy yourself. Plenty of space and so peaceful. Highly recommend 👌

Another peaceful stay at Rob and Colleen’s perfect Hipcamp. This is the 6th time we have stayed here over the last few years and it’s always a favourite of ours for the privacy, peace, and fun fishing (but unfortunately tides were not in our favour this last trip). If you want a great ‘bush camping’ experience so close to the beautiful beaches of Bowen then don’t go past Ben Lomond.

This is an absolute gem of a location. Nestled safely and quietly amongst tropical trees, the site is extremely generous in size. We really appreciated the fact only one booking is permitted and we had the place to ourselves. An absolute bonus. We also got to meet Melissa who was delightful to chat with and recommended local things to see and do. Brindabella is only 5 minutes drive from the Airlie Beach esplanade, which we found so convenient. The site was also super quiet at night which we loved. We hope to return one day! Thank you Mel 😊

Had a great couple of days at site 1 at Ben Lomond. We have stayed here several times over the past few years and it never fails to disappoint. Clean campsites spaced well enough apart to give you complete privacy and the fishing in the tidal creek was good fun as usual.
