The campervan was fully stocked and equipped, and very clean. The camp ground is large and there's so much room!! My daughter loved the pigs and the mini pony. We'll be back 😺

What a absolute gem! Only 30 minutes south of Townsville. Big open spaces, bore water id you need it. Amazing setup for kids - animals, swings, Playground,. We loved it here so much. The hosts go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. Friday night drinks around the fire for the adults, movie and popcorn for kids. This place is a must stay during your travels.

Lovely, quiet spot to relax for the weekend. Campsites were far enough from each other, our spot felt private. Kayaking on the creek was very peaceful, spotted lots of birds. Bruno and Sally were very friendly and made sure we were comfortable.

I love event single time I come back to this place. Katie and Jason are the kindest hosts and it is such a beautiful location at the foothills. It’s the perfect distance from town and I feel so safe leaving my van and my dog for the day knowing it’s a great place with great owners. Cannot recommend this place more ❤️

We have been meaning to come and check this place out for a while now and it did not disappoint! The hosts Katie and Jason were so welcoming and very kid friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The kids loved playing on the farm, feeding the animals and roaming free all weekend. The movie night and popcorn on Friday was an added bonus too. Before we had even left they were asking when we could return! Thanks for a great weekend guys , we will definitely be back soon 😊

Great little camp site right on the creek bank and very shady, the kids loved catching lots of catfish and having a relaxing time.

The host are fantastic and go out of there way to hat with all the campers and kids and made our time amazing and so welcoming. We hired the glamping caravan and had everything we needed and more. Kids had so much fun and hated when it was time to go home and already asking us when are we going back. Also the animal tour and feeding farm animals for only $10 p/p was definitely worth it. Not sure who had more fun.. me or the kids. We will definitely be back.

The grounds were lovely and tidy. Jason and his team are very welcoming. It was great to walk around the farm and see all the animals. Highly recommend this farm stay.

Perfect spot to unwind. We stayed 2 nights and was great. Outdoor shower was a nice, especially with kids running around. Games area undercover kept us all entertained during our stay aswell!! Close enough to just drive into city but far enough that it’s peaceful and relaxing Will definitely be back soon for a longer stay.

We loved it here! Jason was the perfect host. It was the perfect spot for kids with plenty of farm life. Pigs, pony’s, goats, cows and puppies 🐶 We can’t wait to visit again, thanks so much for having us.

2 nights at Gumtree Rest

What a beautiful Hipcamp! Nestled amongst beautiful bush land this was the perfect location for a peaceful getaway. We were surrounded by nature, including cows, horses, kookaburras and were even lucky enough to see a fresh water crocodile when kyacking down the river. Bruno and Sal were welcoming and made sure our stay was perfect. Thank you so much for having us.

We stayed at the Block, and met Janet and David and it was a lovely experience. Both of them were very lovely and welcoming and invited us for a drink as it was very quiet. We had a last minute booking with no worries at all and got a beautiful spot. So quiet and all the camps are spaced out. They’ve got a camp kitchen under way, a dump spot and a cold shower. Highly recommend! Was beautiful and peaceful and exactly what we were after. They had phone reception on the property too :)

We spent Easter at Gumtree Rest, and while there were a few more campers there than we had experienced before, there was plenty of room for all. The location is out of the way, quiet with the noises of the kookaburras to wake you up. The wildlife is typical of north queensland, wallabies, cockatoos, kookaburras, crows, kingfishers and much more. The creek had more water in it and you could see where the water had risen in the recent weather events.Bruno and Sally are the best hipcamp hosts we have come across. It feels like coming back to old friends. Thank you again. Janine & Andrew, Daisy and Zakk.

Gum tree rest was a lovely location. The cows and horses came up close to the fence and didn’t spook at our dog and the area was nicely maintained, perfect for a tent and awning. Bruno was super friendly and helpful on arrival.

Really beautiful spot with space for the dogs to swim and play. The creek was an added bonus. Bruno was very attentive too. I’d definitely recommend this place for a dog friendly stop over.
