Weekend Trip to Hokey's Camp Site Wagait Beach

Loved few days camping at property. Always handy to have onsite toilet, power and water. Close to beach and other 4x4 tracks to check out beaches for sightseeing/ fishing etc. Great little fireplace to cook our bbqs on each day. We set up our hammocks and relaxed while listening to the bird life and enjoying the breeze. Highly recommend as property great and as described. Stephen was a great host and made sure we had all the information available to gain access and what to do on leaving property. A1!!!

We had a fabulous stay here. What a beautuful family. Les was so interesting to chat to. The boys were very well mannered and engaging. We loved our treats of grapefruit and ochre and can't wait to plant our ochre seeds he gave us. It was a very quiet stay with no road noise and close enough to drive into town with ease. This was our 2nd visit to Samson Creek. The serenity here is outstanding. We thoroughly enjoy the peace & have our own space with the next camp quite a way off. We also had a quick trip to Dundee Beach for lunch. Aisla is a wonderful host & came to say hello. Beautiful clean & tidy campsite’s & amenities.

Weekend Trip to Berry Springs Labush Estate

This was an incredible Hipcamp! Family host were extremely accommodating and allowed the kids to help feed chooks, donkey Maggie, the herd of cows and horse Stormy. They have the sweetest pups! Brilliant location, so close to Berry Springs, Berry Springs tavern and the Wildlife park. Highly recommend.

We loved our little escape to Samson Creek and camping at Jackson. Such a beautiful location on the river, to enjoy nature and the outdoors. Only a short drive with easy to follow directions. The campsites are positioned great so as every one can enjoy the space, along with awesome fireplaces and park benches. Great shower and toilet facility too. We will certainly be back.

For most of the year it is open for swimming. There are also several other smaller water holes nearby. Most water attractions are accessible by car. If you do have a 4WD be sure to go off-road to visit the amazing, less accessible sites.

Jean & John's Bynoe Stopover

The property is 40 acres of carefully maintained virgin rainforest. Our flora and fauna are exactly the same as nearby Litchfield National Park, unfortunately without any waterfalls. We have cleared about 10 acres of undergrowth leaving the trees for shade. Animals and other wildlife are abundant with the lilly pond on our front lawn being the only permanent water other than the Finniss River that they have in the area. We have hundreds of wallabies, goannas, frill necked lizards and plenty of bird life. Our pet Red Tailed Black Cockatoo "Butt" attracts the local wild ones, because she is happy they trust us so you can get closer to them than usual for photos. We have toilets and showers set up, the showers are cold water direct from the bore which meansminimum ground temperature so around 30 degrees not really cold at all. There is also a large wood fired BBQ in the same central area. The fish filleting table and boat cleaning area is also nearby. The local kites and other raptors including sea eagles and if you are lucky may see a wedgetailed eagle come in for fish scraps. Croc and dingo area - be aware! We are on the narrowest piece of land between the Finnis River and the Bynoe Harbour so although unlike my neighbours I haven't encountered crocs on the property I'm well aware that they would cross it. The dingos are heard at night as they pass through the area so we request that all food and scraps are kept out of reach as we don't want to encourage them...The pool is a magnet to children and adults alike, it is very old so we request that care and respect be exercised. Each afternoon we gather on the deck for happy hour with the drink of your choice. This is a lovely relaxing end to the day sharing camping adventures and learning about other's lives on the road and often at home too. This is generally Butts photo session and she can be a poser. It's a memory of your stay unique to here as Redtailed Black Cockatoos are generally shy but our Lady is happy to stand on your shoulder and even sqwauk in your ear if she's being difficult. We allow fires in pigs or other ground fire pits as well as the large bbq. We have a few fire pits that you may borrow. This is governed by fire conditions of course and usually we follow the local rating .

This is a secluded bush camp set amongst the trees with a fire pit, for self-contained campers only (who bring their own camping toilet/shower amenities). We are located on the Arnhem Hwy half way between Darwin and Kakadu National Park. Enjoy designated walking tracks, animal feeding, see native wildlife and birds. Relax as you watch amazing sunsets. This campsite is dog friendly. You must be self-contained. We are conveniently located just a short 9km drive from fuel and basic supplies.
