The Groundswell Guest Camp would love to welcome you to enjoy an exclusive camp in a tranquil native bush setting. The camp is located on 100 acres of unique grasstree forest in Taloumbi, NSW. We are just 10 minutes off the Pacific Highway, between Maclean and Brooms Head. The camp is currently set up for private use for one booking. Please contact the host first for group bookings (up to 15 persons).
There is a sink with filtered rain water on the deck, an instant gas hot water shower behind the main deck and also a compost toilet. There is a small solar power set up to run the sink and shower pump. The site in OFF-GRID on tank water only, so it is important to be mindful of water use and make sure taps are off when not in use. Bring your own cooker, lights and chairs. Mosquitos come and go depending on weather or season. It is good to be prepared with coils/sprays just in case.
Pets are welcome, but must be on a leash if they are a threat to wildlife.
You can swim in the dam when full. Enjoy a meditation or sunset drink over looking the dam and admiring the wildlife that also use the watering hole. Please relax and enjoy your time at Groundswell.
We are currently working on a network of trails inside of the 100 acres. There is a "TRAIL" sign at the start of the trail behind the orchard.
The Spa at Groundswell is now open at the owners home. Please contact the host for massage. Limited times are available.
Our nearest beaches are just 5-10 minutes at the Yuraygir National Park Campground entrance and the beautiful quiet beach town of Brooms Head. Brooms Head has a general store and a snack shack, coffee and convenient essentials. Fishing, boating, spear fishing, surfing, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, kite surfing, motor bike trails (Candole State Forest), coastal walks, and beach walks. Yamba is a 30 minutes drive and has great surfing beaches, plenty of café options, shopping, a lighthouse, breakwall walk and fishing.

Our stay at this HipCamp was a godsend as it rained heavily when we arrived and it was no big deal with the deck and roof there to keep us dry!!
We just backed our Bruder to the deck and we were in heaven!! The outside shower was divine and the toot was so not stinky and done well!!

This is such a beautiful place for nature lovers. Perfect for relaxing and enjoying an immersive experience of quiet and solitude in pristine bushland. The camp site is well cared for. There is a large shelter that was very convenient when it rained.

I really enjoyed my stay with Mick! What a character - we had a good yarn before I settled in to my camp. It is a very quiet spot and the stars are beautiful through the tree tops. Money made from your stay goes towards Mick's conservation project around the area which I loved. It terms of amenities, it really is just a drop toilet and a potable water tank! Really all you need :):)

We had a very good experience at Mick's campgroud. Mick is an incredibly kind and welcoming host. He provided us with everything we needed (space for the tent, toilets, water), including a campfire. Besides being a great host, he is a great tour guide! He showed us all the best places to go around. What we particularly appreciated was the importance it attaches to the environment and its preservation. And the bonus: Mick has three adorable dogs that will know how to welcome you with love.

I loved the peaceful setting at River Terrace farm. The facilities were good and Bob checked on me to make sure I was okay. I thought the road noise would keep me awake but it didn't bother me at all.

We had a great experience at this place. We stayed at site 2, we had water at the site, great view, and clear instructions. Toilets and shower were very clean. Also having the pool there was a 10/10. Even though we didnt use it, they had washing machines there, which is really cool. Would definitely recommend. Thanks bob.

I booked Site 4. Unfortunately, we arrived late and missed the host’s greeting; however, he called us prior to our arrival and informed us about our site, which I truly appreciated. The view from the site was absolutely stunning, overlooking the river. The toilets were spotless and very well maintained.
The only drawback was the lack of shade at this location. As we were using a tent, it became quite hot in the morning. Those using a camper may experience fewer issues in this regard. Overall, it was a worthwhile stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed the natural beauty of the area.

We stayed at Groundswell for a week in our motorhome. We were greeted soon after arrival by Lauren who brought us a yummy chutney which was really nice of her and made us feel really welcome. The spot is super private and peaceful, you really have the whole camp to yourself and you wouldn't know anyone else is close by. It was also awesome having the deck, hot shower & drop toilet. Due to it being amongst trees it was nice watching all of the wildlife doing their stuff. The camp is also only 10 minutes to Brooms Head beach which was handy as it is a great spot to visit and it wasn't far to Maclean as well. Overall, we highly recommend!

This was my very first camping experience, so I had a lot of concerns at first. However, the facilities at this campsite completely put my worries at ease. The toilets and showers were much cleaner and more comfortable than I expected, and there was a sink with dishwashing liquid and sponges provided, which made washing up after meals very convenient.
The river in front of the campsite was absolutely beautiful and truly moving to wake up to in the morning. Late check-in was also available, and it was great that the staff were already there waiting for us without us needing to contact them.
Overall, it was an extremely satisfying first camping experience, and I would highly recommend this place.

Site was large and private with lovely river views! As others have mentioned, yes you can hear road noise however it doesn’t detract from the peaceful surrounds.
Lovely to have access to toilets, and shower.

If you want a true Aussie bush camp this is it. If you want to be surrounded by Australian flora and fauna this is the place. Cicadas to bandicoots all amongst the gums trees. Give respect, get respect is the motto here. The bee hive toilets are awesome and super clean, plus you get fresh potable (drinkable, 20L) water on arrival. Mick himself is a pretty cool bush fella, you will get the opportunity to meet him! All in all a really great camp in the bush.
