Markets are on once a month at St Albans and there is a quaint pub and cafe there open on weekends. Enjoy our infinity edge swimming pool and sit back around the outdoor campfire of an evening (unless total fire bans apply). There are composting toilets and cold showers available, however we are on tank water so keep them under 3 min please! Drinking water also available and BBQ facilities. Backing onto McPhersons forest, our campsites are ideally located within a short treck or bike ride into the forest.
The forest has a beautiful creek and waterfall, perfect for a day trip.
The property is conveniently located 1 hour from Sydney and just a 2 minute drive to groceries, food and a pharmacy and 7 minutes from the pub and a doctor.
A 30 minutes form town and close to attractions such as Glenworth Valley and Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary. Also Markets every 2nd and 4th Weekend.
The site currently does not have toilets or electrical facilities, but something we are working on. So please bring your own toilet and take with you.

1. We are not permitting people to set up in the dark, it is totally black, no lighting in wilderness zone and far too difficult to locate your site, and it disturbs other campers.
2. If you have other campers coming make sure you book on the one booking otherwise you will not be placed together.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
PHONES: Phone reception is good, there is a Telstra exchange on the property.
ROADS: Roads around the sites are unsealed, but most normal cars and the average SUV handle it okay. The road down into the Megalong Valley is tar sealed, very scenic but winding.
ICE: Bring your own ice
WOOD: Timber for fires can be purchased at reception. We are an environmental biodiversity precinct so don’t permit damage to vegetation.
FIRES: Plenty of existing fire spots
SHOPS: The township of Blackheath is 15klm away up on the Gt Western Hwy, none in the Valley
SHADE: Plenty of shady areas
WATER: We are on town water
TOILETS there are 3 men's and 3 women's, plus 8 at reception, plus 3 in pioneer and 3 in corner paddock
SHOWERS: 3 gas hot water showers in men's, 3 in women's, plus 2 in Lodge
NOISE: Shutdown time for music is 10pm - no exceptions! but you can still enjoy the fires - quietly.

SCENIC RAILWAY 25 Klms away at Katoomba and 40 minutes travel time
BIKE and WALKING TRACKS: Plenty of bush tracks, plus walks up at Porters Pass and Blackheath
Dont forget to bring along some bread to feed the horses and donkeys - they love it

It is difficult to find a wilderness campsite in the dark and disturbs other campers.
We are requiring ALL vehicles to get registered PRIOR to going up to the site, resulting from so many vehicles trespassing at the venue and causing nuisances for other campers

This was our first time staying out at Megalong Valley Farm, after a long hiatus from camping. We were so spoilt! The options for camp spots was fantastic. Plenty of space to find a private location. The views were incredible, as were the facilities. Watching horses, donkeys, alpacas and kangaroos enjoy the paddocks with us was a highlight. We will definitely make the farm one of our regular getaways, especially being so close to Sydney. Thanks for having us!

We were camping for the very first time, and we had an absolutely wonderful experience here. Gary and all the team members were kind and incredibly supportive and helped us in every way possible, making our stay comfortable and stress free. We loved their hospitality. The toilets were very clean and well maintained, and the whole place felt peaceful and relaxing. It truly made our first camping trip memorable.

This is such a beautiful and precious hip camp. The people that run the farm are so lovely and very accomodating. They do tours on weekends and take you to their animals. /teach you about the farm and its history.
There is a really lovely waterfall and walk and the orchards are beautiful to walk around with tasteful oranges!
The funds raised from the hip camp goes to the Rotary charity in many countries it is a very cool concept.
We would highly recommend checking this out!

It was such an easy process to check in and such a sweet kitty there to help :) The grass was relatively dry although it had rained earlier and the views are amazing! He also gave me some awesome trail recommendations.

Pearla little spot! Easy enough to get to, and the creek crossing was very cute start to a serene getaway, only stayed one night and was awesome, be aware that there are little leeches by the creek but are not toxic/poisonous!

Mike’s place is stunning. Well kept grounds with fire pits and buckets to extinguish. Soooo much space. There were two other families there at the same time as me but still had plenty of distance between us. Plenty of trees and shade but also big open spaces. I also had internet most of the stay. For part of the trip it’s a narrow dirt road to the property with a short, steep, rocky creek crossing to the gate, but it was all pretty easy for my Subaru Forester AWD. Before the dirt road you pass through the beautiful Megalong Valley rain forest.
The gem of the place for me was the gorgeous fern lined, crystal clear creek. I spent a big part of my time there (39 degree day!). If you walk it be careful because the rocks can be a bit wobbly and uneven. It was ankle to knee deep for most of it (that would change depending on rainfall). There is also a very boisterous lyrebird who mimics every bird in the forest and reminds me of the Roadrunner because it moves so fast. The fauna and flora are wonderful. Plenty of wrens, robins, roos and a big wombat hole/home. If you look closely there’s many different tiny little flowers and orchids around 5mm wide scattered throughout the grass. Loved this place!

A lovely spot to camp in! A blood pumping walk down into the valley (and back up again!) at the start of the six foot track. Lovely place to camp, a flowing river with water, we saw ducks, kangaroos and wallabies, and many signs of a wombat! Would definitely stay again

Absolutely gorgeous campsite, nothing better than a dip in the creek at the end of a long day exploring and then listening to it as you fall asleep. Site was clean and level with a fire circle, hot plate, fire bucket and bag of kindling, toilet was functional and stocked with paper. Definitely keen to return with the family, thanks Mike!

Lovely place. Very scenic and peaceful. Would benefit from toilet upgrade. We almost cooked inside the tin shed with the warm weather. No escape from warm weather with not being allowed in the water and not much shade. Caretaker was lovely. Kids loved the animals being around to say hello to. Would go back but maybe not in summer.

I love camping in this private farm, plenty of camping space. Expect a visit from the lovely farm dog. Very accomodating, toilets are clean, and showers were lovely. Would go back again.
