**Please be aware that for the month of November and December we will not be allowing camp fires due to risk to the crop. If no camp fire would be a disappointment (and we wouldn't blame you for being disappointed given the camp fire is the main activity!), you are best to book for outside this period. Our 300-acre off-grid property backs onto the Barmah National Park. This forest, together with the adjoining Millewa forest, forms the largest River Red Gum forest in the world - it's majestic to explore. Our property is just 500 meters from the Murray River. From your camp, roughly a 1 kilometre walk through the forest. On our boundary is Backwater Creek, which fills with water when the Murray River is up. NOTE: Creek is often dry. It has water in it after environmental flows of the Murray. This can happen several times a year and the water lasts a few months. If you have any questions about water levels please ask before booking as it might be dry when you're here. We're located just 5kms north-east of Moama, where you can hop aboard a paddle-steamer, visit waterside wineries and soak up rich riverboat heritage. We offer a few large, beautiful, basic bush camping sites (the best kind!) in amongst 50 acres of bushland, with 100's of meters and trees between you and other potential campers. The rest of our property is used for cropping and sheep. Campers must take out what you bring in. Mobile phone service and internet is usually reliable, though with long weekends and summer school holidays the service seems to disappear! Completely. We suggest downloading (before leaving home) your Spotify faves and Maps for this area then you can't go wrong. *Please feel free to book anyone in your possie that is under 18 as a child.

There is a view of the Broken Creek which is close to the property & easily accessible by a short walk. We’re are a 10 minute drive to Waaia with an excellent pub and the small town of Nathalia which has a supermarket, hotels, fuel, post office, bakery, gift & clothing stores & other businesses. Great quiet spot not far from town. We booked quite late and last minute but Michelle was happy to accommodate us and even did a quick mow of the site for us. Level clearing amongst the trees with plenty of kangaroos and ducks around made for an excellent and safe place to camp for the night.

What a great place. The site is level with really easy access for all size caravans. Plenty of trees for shade and open space for your solar. A great fire pit to enjoy and plenty of wildlife including koalas. The hosts are fantastic and will help with anything you need or leave you in peace. We brought our horses up and had a great time. 6min drive to Kyabram for restocking, 2min drive or 10min walk to the river The internet reception isn’t great but you will get TV reception. We loved our stay at Garonelle Park, views to the bush filled with bird life and the odd koala on one side and beautiful orchards on the other. There was plenty of space between camps and only a short drive to the river for a swim when needed without the busyness of the long wkd crowds. Grassy flat sites that were great for the vans. Michelle was so easy to deal with and very fast to respond. Would definitely recommend and will be back. Thanks for a great stay.

Great site - wish we could stay longer. Kerry was very friendly and welcoming. Peaceful setting.. loved the big old trees, kookaburras and watching the squawking cockatoos with a cuppa by the campfire. We were the only ones there but there is enough space between campsites - I don’t think you’d hear or see them anyway if you’re looking for seclusion. Shower and toilet were great. Short 8 min drive into Moama if you need to pick up drinks/supplies, swim at Moama beach or go to the pub! Moama has a market on every second Sunday - worth a look if you’ve timed it well. Cheers

Kerry was so welcoming and wonderful! Even when I turned into the wrong property despite some very clear instructions! The campsite was rustic, quiet, full of birds (Sacred Kingfishers, Shrike Thrush and of course Cockatoos) and the odd roo popping in and out of view across the creek. But the shower - THE SHOWER!! - instant hot water, private setting and a lovely view from the little window; it was not just a shower, it was an EXPERIENCE! And after days on the road, completely needed. Then the campfire brazier at the site was so wonderful. There was ample wood to be gathered from the beautiful gums around us and the combination of crackling fire, birdsong and the sound of the wind through the trees meant I had a relaxing dinner, early night, a restful sleep and a beautiful morning wake-up. I will definitely come back the next time I pass by. I enthusiastically recommend Tooranie, regardless of whether you are after a quiet getaway or a place to bring the family. I only wish that I’d had longer to stay and explore!

The facilities were excellent and well looked after, and the whole site felt incredibly peaceful and serene — the perfect place to unwind and recharge.
