You can also access Bennett's Head lookout from here and enjoy the stunning views.. The area is surrounded by plenty of stunning beaches which offer amazing swimming and snorkeling opportunities. We are a farm forestry property located in the middle of the north shore of Port Stephens. Two hours north of Hornsby. 1 hour north of Newcastle.
2 mins to Pindimar beach, 9 minutes to Coles and bottle shop, 11 minutes to surf beach Bennett Beach 12 minutes to Jimmy's Beach.
Pets are welcome please pick up after them. Unfortunately, due to a recent incident. All dogs from now on must be on a leash at all times. The dangerous dog in question bit 4 people in less than 24 hours. Including my husband twice. You know your dog, But you cannot predict what another campers's dog is going to be like. Any dog on the NSW dangerous dogs list is absolutely not welcome here.
Free use of fire pits and free firewoods. You will need to be split the logs yourself. axes and wheelbarrows are supplied.
Hot showers and decent toilets, Good mobile phone signal. Two Communal Fridges .There is lots of space for campers. We have two sites with shade, four without. We suggest you bring a decent quality gazebo or equivalent. If you choose a non-shady site and then it's sunny, it is beyond our control.
We are located on a dead end road, so very rare to have any traffic after 8pm.
PLEASE NOTE: 1) We ONLY ALLOW ONE camper trailer or ONE caravan per site. No limit on number of tents.
2) IF You Have more than 3 vehicles/site please contact host before booking.
3) Depending on the weather on the day, we may have to limit the number of vehicles that can be parked adjacent to your campsite.
4) NO late night check in . If you are a group larger than two people, the check in time is between midday and sunset. Do not arrive after sunset. If in doubt call.
5) As the business name suggests (mountain) our property is on a hill. we are creating more level campsites. This year the weather has been terrible. From record rain to drought conditions in 3 months. Because of the earthworks there has been a bit of dust, which we have tried to control with grass seed and then no rain.... once each section of earthworks is done. Shade trees are being planted. But they are slow to grow.
6) Please check weather report a minimum of 7 days before you arrive and CANCEL your booking if you are not sure.
7) We cannot control the wind, the sun, rain, or lack of rain.

We welcome self-sufficient campers who have their own toilet/shower facilities. All campers must provide portable toilets used by all their guests and leave no trace. As we are new to Hip camp we still do not offer water or electricity. We will be upgrading with time as nothing happens in a hurry here which you will feel :)
Pets are more than welcome, however they must be well behaved and controlled. We do have a very friendly farm dog named Annie who everyone falls in love with (refer reviews fro reference and pics)

Access to the property is easy via a grated dirt road 500m off the highway which is very handy for a quick stop or stay as long as you want.

I have a small private property with grass campsites by a tidal outlet to Port Stephens harbour. We do not offer secluded camp sites away from other people on large acreage.
You can spend your days fishing, kayaking or enjoying Nelson Bay and surrounding areas and beaches which are only 15 minutes away. Guests have the use of a retreat shelter/fire place/BBQ area and wifi.
Campers must try to be self contained bringing their own water, toilet and shower. Sorry, no caravans over 20ft. Suite solo travellers, couples wanting a quiet weekend and LGBT friendly. We do have available tank, rain water for drinking, a toilet and hot shower, microwave and free wifi available for those who cannot be totally self contained. Yes there are mozzies because you are near water, so bring repellent.

A beautiful hilly 90 acre working farm in the hinterland above The Great Lakes (Myall, Smith , Wallis Lakes), 30 mins from Seal Rocks, just 10km off the M1 about 20 minutes from Bulahdelah. You do need to be completely self sufficient and to respect our pristine environment and take all rubbish away with you. Food scraps we are happy to share with the feathered flock.
The property offers privacy and magnificent views of rolling green hills and ancient trees and a huge dam with pontoon for swimming. Great stars on a clear night. Sit, relax, and enjoy the magnificent views or utilise the surrounding forests, beaches, lakes, farmers markets, and local winery. You'll be camping near a herd of horses. There's also the Pet pig "Barney Rubble" and ponies / ducks/ chickens/ talking parrot to entertain little people.
Firewood can be purchased when you arrive for CASH for $20 per load and must be collected from the house upon arrival. Eggs also are available - $8 CASH on arrival. Lemons, Limes and chilli's are free.
We limit bookings for your privacy. It is a hilly property so you need adequate power and 4WD to access the higher sites, particularly if towing and after extended wet periods. Message if you are unsure.. 4WD are most suitable for this property. Dogs are welcome and are fine to be off-lead provided they don't chase horses and are friendly. They must be on a lead near the house around the free-range chooks etc. Campers should be fully contained. Bring all, take all, no footprint camping. Within 3 hours drive of Sydney and around an hour from the Barrington National Parks, Newcastle, Maitland, Forster and Nelson Bay, it makes it the perfect destination for a weekend getaway!
We are offering 6 beautiful, partly shaded, camping sites along the pristine Upper Karuah River. All sites are separated for privacy and are all right on the edge of the river.
There are plenty of opportunities for bird watching, hiking, swimming, kayaking, fishing (in summer), star gazing or just relaxing.
All sites are site only and no toilet or shower facilities are provided. You will need to bring your own camping toilet or self contained caravan/ camper (dump point is located in Stroud township)

You will need to be self contained at the moment. Pick up supplies in Forster, Raymond Terrace etc.
The site has good access, no problem for 2WDs to large caravans. Preferably you are self contained as we are on limited septic.
The site is powered. Please note, if you wish to run air-con or heating, please discuss this with us first as there may be an additional charge for that.
We only accept one booking at a time, so you are guaranteed the place to yourselves. And your well-behaved dogs are welcome too, so long as they don't chase the wildlife.

It is a gentle slope down from the street where you park to where the level camp site BUT I do not recommend driving down to the level camping area. Even in a 4 wheel drive cars have been stuck and if it's been wet or even if it's dry, you will be stuck and I have no way of helping you. It's about 20 steps from the street to the camping area. Easy walk.
If you have a car/truck with the camping arrangement on your roof, this site is not for you. Sorry.
Level area for camping is about 220m with water and power plus a 8m x 2.5m cabin for hanging out in the day, storage in wet weather. The cabin is about 25 steps further down from the camping. It is a gentle slope to get to. The outlook is lovely.
The land is just 500 steps from Smiths Lake. The photo of the lake is the spot. It doesn't look that good every afternoon. That was one of those super magic sunsets; but it's often amazing. Town water is on and power is also on. Toilets are a short 3 minutes drive to the Frothy Coffee lake side with BBQ and toilet amenities

Lovely property to have a walk around seeing the cows and a few horses…
Hosts are welcoming and very helping during our stay.
Site had a nice flat bit for our caravan and was free of cow paddies.
Nice spot with lots of birds and other wildlife about. Only a few minutes to the Stroud township for water and dump point.

From the very first interaction with Kellie and Rod the communication and directions were great and OKA was amazing , we were directed to a great spot handy too the amazing camp kitchen more like a “glamp “kitchen there isn’t anything they haven’t thought of to make your stay as comfortable as possible …. So close to town but you feel miles away lost in the sounds of wildlife and birds .. Ruby was a gorgeous host too . We were self contained but there is a great shower and toilet available we will definitely recommend too anyone and we will be back …

Louise was super lovely I turned up at like 8pm in winter so well after dark, fully expecting to be told that she didn’t have space but she was super helpful, and welcomed me anyway. She has a nice little field round the back of her home where you park up. She gave me a tour which included a picnic spot under cover with campfire, kettle and Microwave. As well as a toilet and hot shower. There was a plug in spot to if needed for laptops and such. Area was super quiet and just across the road there’s an awesome ray, reptile and shark rehab center where you can get up close and personal with the animals. Would definitely 100% recommend.

Willowbank is my happy place… a stay never disappoints no matter what time of year it is. The cooler crisper nights are just perfect for a warm relaxing campfire and the river and wildlife always provide something new to explore and see. Jo and Ian are always the perfect hosts.

A nice couple of nights at Willowbank at the Old Cedar site. Spacious, relaxing. Pretty quiet. Joanne was a wonderful host, greeting us and directing us, and checking in on our way out. Great fire pit. The creek would be good for a swim in the warmer weather, spotted the platypus!
