Kielock Homestead is a unique farm stay experience located centrally in the beautiful Kiewa Valley Victoria where you can camp right on the bank of the Kiewa River. Some of the activities available include fishing, swimming, bush walking, bird and animal watching and bike riding. If you choose you can join in on farm activities such as feeding the animals,  collecting eggs and planting/harvesting fruit and vegetables. We have a small market garden available where you can pick and purchase seasonal fresh produce, alternatively vegetable boxes and eggs are available by arrangement and delivered right to your campsite. Within the 200 acres of the property you will find it is home to many animals including kangaroos wombats platypus possums, bats and many bird and marine species. The main fish in the river are  trout and cod so if you would like to try your luck fishing this is the place for you.Some of the surrounding towns include Mt Beauty (20 mins), Yackandandah (30 mins), Bright (50 mins), Beechworth (50 mins) Falls Creek (60 mins) with the border towns of Albury and Wodonga only 50 mins away. These beautiful towns contain an array of boutique wineries, craft breweries, bakeries and cafes, or you can choose to follow a farm gate food trail.The area also provides opportunities to go horse-riding, bike riding on one of the many rail trails or be adventurous on the mountain bike tracks at Falls Creek in the warmer months with snow sports in winter. The surrounding mountain ranges offer numerous famous 4wd trails or you might like to try your hand at panning for gold.This is a working farm and our animals are our family. They are very friendly but only know us and not you so please do not enter their homes without us, but feel free to talk to them over the gates. Be aware that all fences are electric and are switched on at all times. There is a dedicated communal campfire area for use when fire restrictions permit and we request that no additional fire pits are created during your stay. As this is a working property we are unable to accommodate your pets. It has been a few years since we stopped hosting campers at Samsons Gully, but we're back and looking forward to meeting new and old friends. Samsons Gully is a working cattle farm nestled in a stunning private valley. If you are after peace and tranquillity this is where you will find it. We have a national park on one side of us, and the Cudgewa Creek flowing along our front boundary. The property is perfect for mountain biking, bushwalking, fishing or just plain relaxing. The favourite camp site is on the banks of the Cudgewa Creek. However, there are plenty of places to camp in the bush for those wanting more seclusion. Samsons Gully is a perfect base to explore the Upper Murray. 20 minutes away is Corryong where there is an IGA, service stations, dump point, Dr and hospital, pubs and cafes. 10 minutes away is the Cudgewa pub who do dinner Wednesday through to Sunday evenings. Our property suits fully self contained campers only as there is not toilet or shower. Dogs and horses are welcome but must be well behaved and kept close to your camp site as this is a working cattle property. Due to council regulations we can only open one site up at a time. This ensures that your time here will be exclusive, peaceful and private.

Our family stayed the weekend and had a fantastic experience! We were warmly greeted by the friendly host and her lovely dog, which made us feel welcome straight away. The campsites were spacious and peaceful, with plenty of room to spread out! The creek was absolutely gorgeous- crystal clear and such a beautiful spot. Plenty of wildlife too! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, scenic getaway. There’s also a glamping tent for anyone wanting more luxury. We can’t wait to return in warmer weather to truly take advantage of the stunning creek. The only area for improvement would be the toilet block which could do with a tidy and stock up, but this certainly didn’t change our experience overall and we’d definitely return!

Stayed here over the Cup weekend for the second time. Six families, heaps of room and we LOVED it yet again. Right on the creek with the toilet a short walk. Ordered a trailer of firewood and was heaps for 3 nights. Definitely recommend and we will be back.

Beautiful spot, mostly peaceful even on a long weekend. Great campsite with ample room. Unfortunately for us it’s too expensive , kids over 13 pay full price which is a bit steep with teenagers in the family.

We had such a great time here! The place was super spacious and perfect for our big group. Loved having the creek nearby and the fireplace was awesome for hanging out in the evenings. The kids were absolutely obsessed with Jimmy the horse who came by every day. Loretta was a wonderful host and made everything easy for us. We stayed at Site 2, which was really nice and private. The only small thing was that the toilets were a bit of a walk. Everything else was perfect.Would 100% stay again.

What a top spot. Grassy, a place for a cool dip, open space, not too close to neighbouring campers, mountain views. We loved Loretta's property and would stay again! Great on your own, with a partner or with kids.

Weekend Trip to Kielock Homestead

Site 3 – Tent/Van/RV Site at Kielock Homestead We spent a blissful long weekend at Site 3 and couldn’t have asked for a better escape. The location is stunning nestled right by the Kiewa River, with plenty of space for our caravan and gear. Access was smooth and well-marked, making setup a breeze. 🎣 The trout fishing was a highlight. Crystal-clear waters and plenty of quiet spots to cast a line. Whether you're an experienced angler or just looking to unwind by the riverbank, this place delivers. Campfire Magic - evenings were pure magic. We roasted marshmallows around the campfire under a canopy of stars, with nothing but the gentle sounds of nature in the background. The quietness of the site made it feel like we had the whole valley to ourselves. Caravan-Friendly & Spacious Site 3 had ample room for our van, with level ground and easy access to the river. It’s ideal for anyone travelling with a setup that needs a bit of breathing room. Charles was an absolute gem of a host. Friendly, responsive, and genuinely passionate about the land and the experience he’s created. He checked in to make sure everything was going smoothly and offered great local tips. You can tell he takes pride in making guests feel welcome and relaxed. If you're looking for a peaceful, nature-filled retreat with great fishing, campfire vibes, and a host who truly cares, this is the spot. We’ll definitely be back!

We stayed at site 5 which was a fantastic spot. Close to the river and just a 5 minute walk to the toilets. Grounds are kept so clean! Beautiful place to stay and great for kids. Lots of space to run around. Loretta was wonderful, brilliant communication 😊 Definitly planning on coming in the summer to put that river to good use 😎

High Country Paradise is probably our favourite camp-site in Victoria! The views are stunning and we camped right by the river side. It's easy to have firewood delivered to the site and very convient having a flushing toilet too. We has such a peaceful camping trip and we will be back!
