Sites are large with varying distance between each to enable you to enjoy the camping experience in your own space. Both paddock sites and limited river spots are available. If planning to stay with friends and you wish to share a site only 1 booking is required, the sites are large, some up to 30m x 30m. IMPORTANT: Pets are allowed on a case-by-case basis, with conditions, and a $20 fee applies. Please check with Hosts before booking. Once approved, please add the Pets Extra when booking. (Saturday night 2-night minimum) There is no mobile reception or internet access, therefore, providing a true off-grid retreat. Self-sufficient campers are preferred. We enjoyed our stay at Myrtle Ridge farm. The open space surrounded by trees was a lovely tranquil place to camp. The morning cacophony of bird calls is amazing. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The hosts are incredibly helpful and friendly, full of local knowledge. The camp is close to the highway and The Entrance so everything is in easy access to shops for topping up supplies. A great place for a one night stop or longer.

We really enjoyed our stay at De View. Yarra was very on the ball with directions. Came to greet us when we arrived. The amenities were clean and nicely presented. The camping areas were thoughtfully landscaped and well spread out. The river was perfect for my 7yo and 11yo. And (it was early summer) there was a total lack of mosquitoes! 😁.

I thoroughly enjoyed my camping experience at DeView. The tranquility of the surroundings was truly enchanting, and immersing myself in the river was a delightful escape. Yara was exceptionally welcoming; she greeted me upon arrival and was eager to engage in conversation about my stay. Such a great experience staying at De View. Great communication by Yara the host, excellent and clean facilities and a beautiful spot on the Colo River. The kids loved swimming up and down the river and the adults had a super relaxing time to catch up. 100% recommended and we will be back

Review is a lovely campsite with spacious sites and functional amenities. The Colo River is a treasure. Yarra is exceptionally efficient with great communication and really gives that personal touch. Highly recommended. I also look forward to visiting their other sister site called Whispering Gums.

Great spot! Lovely owners, awesome location variety of camping spots with shade of sun clean amenities. There were many families with kids and pets. Kids could play on swings or in water. Entry to the river was easy and water was beautiful warm over super clean and safe for kids in any ages. Hardly recommend ;)

We had a great time at Canoelands. Beautiful scenery, Debbie was very accommodating and we had a peaceful spot away from other campers. Felt like you had the place to yourself for the most part! Sound does travel throughout the valley and we could hear campers at the other site but it was not a big deal.

Loved this campsite. Even though it was only an hour from Sydney, it really feels like you’re away from it all. The facilities are awesome and the property is beautiful. We had the camping area to ourselves for most of the weekend but even with another group there it felt very private. Great access to Sea Cliff Bridge area. My dog also loved this place. I would love to come back!

The place is a nice option if you’re after a no-fuss camping experience without heading hours out of town. It’s close enough to the city to make a quick getaway feel doable, but still secluded enough that you get that proper “away from it all” vibe. The setup is simple and suits soft-core campers who just want an easy spot to pitch a tent without wrestling with the wilderness. There are plenty of amenities around — a kitchen with the basics, fire-compatible pans and kettles, and a great shower that’s a nice surprise after a day outside — so you’re not roughing it. The space has a relaxed feel that makes it easy to unwind. It’s the kind of place where you can switch off for a night or two without doing a full-on camping mission.

Weekend Trip to The Freedom Farm River Paradise

The 2 campsites are very private and spacious and you your group gets exclusive use of your site whether there is just 2 of you or 20 - a fantastic feature. We used the Marabalang campsite etched between the river edged with a narrow mangrove strip and some scrub. The Gum Trees campsite is far more open, but for just 2 of us, our campsite felt wonderfully secluded. Access to paddle craft wwas great and I enjoyed a couple of hours paddle up the river in a canoe provided. The birdsong of a morning was fantastic to wake to and we saw a couple of lyre birds each day on the driveway in. The host were lovely and easy going.
