This property is an off grid retreat with an abundance of wildlife. Our quiet rural retreat is just under 30 acres and has kangaroos, wombats ,possums and echidnas , wallabies and a range of bird life. Our property is a hobby farm with chickens, vegetable garden and we make condiments and fresh farm eggs to sell , we bake fresh bread on demand. We are pet friendly but pets must be controlled at all times and not chase the wildlife. We have a off leash area that is fenced where your fury friends can have play dates and run around. There are 4 large camping sites that must be you must self contained and leave nothing but footprints and great memories. Plenty of room for vans , boats , cars to park at your site . Camp site is a short distance from gate and 2wd can access. There is a communal fire place and wood is supplied but no collection of firewood. Fire only permitted in fire seasons. We are a gate way to many self guided Trails : Tasting trail - Local town’s Canowindra , Carcor, Millthorpe ,Wyangala and Travellers rest, markets and wineries Fishing trail - Wyangala Dam , Carcor Dam and small rivers and creeks, Forest trails - 4wd and Foraging Historic Trails - War times , Bushrangers , Railway heritage , Arts and museums. Approximately 45 minutes from Orange, 4 hours from Sydney. The region between Molong and Parkes offers scenic views, bush walking, bush camping, picnic areas, mountain biking trails, and 4WD touring. To the northwest lies Goobang National Park that includes Caloma lookout, one of the high points in the Wanda Wandong sector of Goobang National Park. The area is a bird watchers' paradise - you can often spot birds of prey, such as wedge-tailed eagles, brown goshawks and brown falcons, soaring across the sky. Black cypress pines, grevilleas, lomandras and heath feature commonly on the landscape. There are many tall grass trees in this area too, some of which are believed to be hundreds of years old. This is a large property that is taking a break from sheep farming. Covered in gum trees and pines and lots of open space. The property has a creek with all year round water holes and dams. You can do almost anything you want. Hiking, fishing, swimming, camping and living the dream. There's emus (bush chooks), kangaroos (hopping dogs), platypus and no drop bears, meaning you can sit back, relax and go back to the way it was. Self sufficient campers only, leave no trace. You must bring your own camping toilet and shower. If booking under the Group listing, you will need to arrange you own portaloos, which I am happy to manage delivery/pick up of with the local hire company. It's 15 minutes to the pub in town if you're up for a coldie or a meal. ​Our farm is a work in progress.

Our family has been here since the early 1820s. A great family-friendly campsite for those seeking a bush experience. Drinking water available but nothing else, no amenities, so you must have everything you need and leave no trace. 2WD most of the year unless rain, then need 4WD. Pets not permitted. Campfires permitted in a designated area only when restrictions aren't in place. Plenty of firewood around to gather fallen timber.All campers have the opportunity to join in our animal feeding every afternoon at 4pm, we'll take you along with us as we feed the chooks, working dogs, pody lambs and whatever else is happening on the farm! Location from Sydney We are approximately 228.9km via Great Western Highway/A32 from Sydney CBD. It is part of the village known as Newbridge which is 3km from the property. It is an easy 30km drive to Bathurst and 50km to Orange with only 15km away from Blayney. La Pinata is also a short drive to Milthorpe and Carcoar - all lovely award winning quaint towns worth visiting where you can take in the history and enjoy great food and wine. A great country escape destination! Even the Newbridge Train Station remains treasured by residents and fondly remembered as the stopover for Queen Elizabeth II during her 1954 royal visit! Newbridge is fortunate to have a local pub, known as the Gladestone Hotel. A a restaurant serving modern cuisine and live music most Sunday afternoons (need to check with Pub for confirmation of entertainment 02 6368 1004). This is approximately 2.7kms from La Pinata! The Property La Pinata is circa 161 Ha (400 acres) in size. Altitude of approx 900m. Over half of the land is clear, the land is mostly undulating with some steeper areas. There are 7 paddocks. Stock water is supplied by dams in all paddocks with a permanent Evans Plains Creek that flows through the property which is a wonderful spot for bushwalking. There is also a bore that provides water to our water tanks. The Property also offers a pine forest, which is cooling on hot summer days, and in the colder months, it is a winter wonderland adventure. A perfect part of the property to do many things: picnicking in the wild whilst collecting pinecones, wildflowers or simply admiring the majestic views of the Fitzgerald Valley and the Blue Mountains over a glass of local wine and cheese. The Barn Style Cabin La Pinata, for a unique glamping experience, offers a barn style cabin dwelling with all the comforts of a home but with a rustic cabin experience. A majority of the barn style cabin and its amenities have been built from recycled material, this includes the furniture which is mostly recycled or pre-loved. We are also using off the grid electricity and water supply. It has 7 sleeping rooms with 1 ensuite and 2 Bathrooms. One of the 7 sleeping rooms has a cot. It has a well-equipped open Kitchen with 5 pit stove, oven, blender, and toaster. The open living area has 3 spaces to enjoy: • 8–10-seater dining area • 3-piece lounge area (TV, with Netflix and Foxtel) • A study/reading Nook area • Another area just off the kitchen is a lovely space where you can read or relax. We have also provided a dart board and other board games for those competitive nights of fun! The barn has laundry facilities and wifi. Other Services that can be provided-coordinated Picasso Paint and Wine Experience Ask the host regarding our Picasso Paint and Wine Experience at La Pinata for groups of 8 to 12 guests. It is a lovely way to enjoy the afternoon sunset with your group, enjoying your wine and painting! 4 weeks' notice required to coordinate. Vale Creek Wines At La Pinata we can organise a wine tasting experience. The winery is called Vale Creek, located approximately 23.5kms from Newbridge (Gladestone Hotel). Vale Creek’s Cellar Door provides tastings in a relaxed setting overlooking the winery. Their wines are from clones sourced from superior vineyards in Italy – www.valecreek.com.au. The owners are delightful and welcoming. They are opened most weekends. The winery has many events occurring through the month and if it coincides with your trip, we will be more than happen to share the event with you and if you wish we can organise the wine tasting booking for you as well. Ask the Host about this item so it can be organised. Driving inside our property. Our internal roads are constantly maintained whilst 2WD drive vehicles have come and gone from our place without an issue, it is recommended to use a 4WD vehicle. STRA: Exempt

Damien and Tammie were wonderful hosts! They greeted us as we drove into the property providing instructions on how to enter the campsite. The hill side site has spectacular views of the valley. The perfect spot to watch both sunrise and sunsets. The horse and sheep was a delightful surprise and kept us company through out our stay! We will definitely be back!

Best camping spot I have been to. The hosts are super attentive and quick to respond to messages. The camp sit itself is super clean and on a really nice grass patch right next to the river. It was very peaceful and you have really great privacy especially if you go to “the rapids” site. The horses were a really nice addition and super friendly, they come right up to you to say hi! I recommend getting a loaf of home made bread from Tammie, it was AMAZING! The road leading to the river is pretty rough so a proper 4x4 is a must if you choose to visit.

This is a beautiful property along the river. Definitely a 4wd experience on the way in/out but totally worth it. Camp sites are probably closer to each other than I thought based on other reviews. In saying that, the hosts were extremely friendly & I’m sure if I’d asked if there were other campers close by & could I move to be more secluded, they absolutely would’ve accommodated me where they could - so that one is on me. The sites along the river are pretty flat & the horses/alpacas wandered by regularly. The river was at a level that my dogs could go for a paddle without any worry.

Watton Airstrip is a great place to camp. We stayed 4 nights at Hogs Heaven and really enjoyed our time. Damo is a great host. Super friendly, helpful and informative. Sadly Tammie wasn’t there when we were so I guess that means we will just have to come back to try her delicious sounding breads 😊 We absolutely loved the horses and alpacas and the river was delightful to cool off in. The camping area is so well maintained and clean and the facilities available in the camp kitchen look fantastic. We highly recommend and will definitely be back

Neville is an excellent host. He met us at the gate. He offered us a portaloo if we needed one. Plenty of firewood around. Quiet it is just off the road but it is not to busy. 2wd accessible. Quiet bushland which meant lots of family bonding, fires, board games and belting out the tunes. Creek is low at moment lots of bamboo in waterway. Neville has great plans to restore the creek.

Watton Airstrip is a beautiful destination, the perfect getaway in nature. We enjoyed our campsite on the banks of the Macquarie River, saw lots of wildlife and the star gazing was spectacular. This was our second time at Watton Airstrip amd we will definitely return in the future.

Lots of animals to see. Excellent views and a good stretch of the Maquarie river. You are missing out if you don’t try it. 4WD recommended for the full experience.

The track down to the camp sites is a bit gnarly in places and a bit of a challenge getting back out but is well worth the effort as this place is awesome.Campsites are large and right on the river.We were very fortunate to have the place to ourselves for 4 nights with perfect weather.Damo and Tammy are exceptional hosts.So if you have the right vehicle and camper or van and have average 4x4 experience this place is well worth a stay

The 2WD accessible sites feature spectacular views to the right, towards Mt Panorama and Mt Horrible and towards Mt Canobolas to the left. Each campsite offers its own unique features for you to enjoy and a hand crafted pit toilet is accessible to those camped along the river bank. Better still, book into a pub crawl with Damo so you can lie back and enjoy the ride. There are plenty of opportunities for 4WDing and bushwalking in the local area. Fires are allowed (fire restrictions permitting). Wood can be collected from fallen wood around the property, or bring your own if you prefer. Pets are welcome for a one off fee per animal. We also back on to the Dananbilla national park which is 35 square kilometres. A running spring fed creek with yabbies and watercress and small water hole in creek for a dip with small water fall. We back on to 35 square kms of national park called Dananbilla. You can see kangaroos, wallaby, wombat and if lucky akidna , goanna , lace monitor and many varieties of birds. Great cell phone service with optus and telstra but not Vodafone. Can charge your phone ,just bring your lead and power plug. Plenty of firewood for your stay from fallen dead branches. The mountain has the origional trig station for the area on top from early 1800s with beautifull views. We cater for all size vehicles. We have a 55 acre property at the foot of the Dananbilla Range, a working farm with coloured Miniature Sheep, also pattable Galloway Cattle and calfs and Miniature and normal sized horses, donkeys, turkeys, guinea fowl, peacocks and LOTS of Miniature Goats all very friendly. Around 200 handraised and tame animals and 200 birds. We are the largest and oldest Miniature Goat Stud in NSW.....all year round we have baby goats, turkeys, horses, cows, sheep...all hand raised and friendly. We often have babies on bottles and goats to milk and generally, the farm is a wonderful place to be for those who love animals. The State Forest that surrounds our farm is a wonderful experience for bushwalking and the views are outstanding with spectacular sunrises and sunsets to admire. There are endless amounts of native birds, kangaroos and wallabies to view and sometimes we see a local echidna or wombat. We provide a peaceful farm with loving animals who love human attention. Toilets and showers available. Sorry NO Dogs are permitted. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place. Firewood available to purchase per night load, delivered to your site.
