There is excellent fishing and kayaking on the creek, and nearby bush tracks are perfect for walking, exploring, or mountain biking. In the evening, relax around a campfire and soak up the sounds of the bush.
The campsite is suited for groups of up to 20 people and is accessible to both 4WD and AWD vehicles. It is located about 25 minutes from Batemans Bay, making it easy to pop into town for supplies or a casual lunch.

Orange Grove was established in 1856 on the banks of the cylde River Nelligen.
It is set on 40 acres nestled on the edge of the Village of Nelligen, (15min Walk to its cafe and pub) and 8km west of Batemans Bay (10mindrive).
Our camp grounds are set up on the Clyde's banks, all able to support enough area and access for 2wd, 4wd, RV and Car Camper set ups.
Orange Grove, has a small basic boat ramp (there are public ramps 2mins down the road). With a beach and pontoon, you are able to leave your boat in the river for the duration of your stay. Batemans Bay is 15min down stream, an easy ride to pick up items not found in Nelligen.
Our camp ground has a covered area with BBQ Facilites, tables, chairs, Water, fire pit (used in under the correct conditions), a toilet (Bring own Toilet paper).
We are pet friendly, however we do have wildlife on the property and livestock, so we ask that have full control and take responsibility of your pets.
We always have a presence on the property and have good Telstra coverage, so although you feel a million miles from nowhere you also feel secure.

Stay on our 2 acre block on the edge of a small village in the southern tablelands of NSW. We are conveniently close to the Hume Highway, with a level grassed site with scattered gum trees providing shade. Travellers between Melbourne and Sydney can easily pull in off the highway for a quick set up for the night, then be back on the road the next morning. Alternatively, our site is an excellent base to stay for a few days while you explore Canberra and surrounds, as it is an hour to the Nation’s capital.
Sure, we can hear the highway and occasional trains as they go past on the main line but there are also plenty of bird calls and some neighbouring wallabies. There is a small creek on the boundary of the camping block that attracts birds but is not suitable for swimming. We have town water available for campers and toilet facilities are a short 400m walk to the middle of the village. The nearest dump point is 15 minutes away in the town of Yass. Winters are excellent for small fires for cooking and then putting another log on to enjoy the rest of the evening under the stars. We have dedicated fire pits or you can use your own.
As an added bonus, there are metal sculptures dotted around the block created by the host.
Each site is spacious enough for up to 4 vans if you are travelling in a group. It is easy to navigate through the trees and use it as a drive through.

A truly epic place to stay. so peaceful. The stream leading into the main river was great for swimming and Kayaking. We were surprised that it was still tidal this far from the sea. The owner was super responsive before the booking and her farm worker Cam, was absolutely brilliant, very friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming and generally interested in ensuring we had a good time. We were only a small group of 9 but this would easily fit the 20 people allocation. Half out group traveled from Melbourne and the other half from Sydney. despite the long distance from Melbourne, I would still recommend this as a great spot to get together. We will be back with a larger group next time to further share this nature break.

We stayed at Tryg’s on the way down the coast to Mallacoota & we wish we could have stayed longer, we were only there for a night, absolutely brilliant spot by the river we had the whole place to ourselves. Would be great for a family gathering or bunch of friends - highly recommend 👍

Stayed here yesterday and had an awesome time. The place is peaceful, super private, and perfect for a quiet break with friends. We loved the creek area and the open space around the campsite. I stayed at site 5. Even though the sites are quite close, I was there by myself so it was no issue. Shared the paddock with sheep, kangaroos, lizards, rabbits and water birds. Lovely outlook over the little dam, and was able to see the bunnies and Roos hopping around.
This is the second site I have stayed at where I didn’t meet the owners first up or at all. I have to admit that I prefer meeting the owners when I arrive, as a woman travelling alone it just feels better to meet the owners and know that I’m safe. This is just a personal preference, I’m sure others may not be bothered by it, but I appreciate the meet and greet.
Other than that the stay was fine, location was great for an easy drive into Canberra, and communication with Janice was good also.

I am in two minds about leaving a review, as we want to keep this special location to ourselves, however; if you are down this way take some time to make your own opinion.
We had two days at Orange Grove and didn't want to leave. The location is a perfect place to switch off and remove yourself from the world.
We arrived as a group of two couples travelling with dogs in a large motorhome and caravan combo. Tryg and my mate said I am compensating for the size of the motorhome, but hey why not travel in comfort.
Site access was ok for us after a little gardening on Tryg's approval so large vehicles can access without restriction.
Everything is there; space abounds, impressive fire pit, water views, fish, toilet facility and well sheltered and ir is all yours.
Local knowledge abounds, both from locals when walking the streets of Nelligen and from your host Tryg. Even more so when you loosen his tongue with a cold beverage. It is awesome to get a locals perspective and the vibe of what really makes a community and honest mateship of the Aussie spirit.
Do yourself a favour and visit this part of the world as it is impressive.

Easy to find, tranquil and relaxing with visits from the local sheep & rabbits!
Unfortunate that the space is also utilised for boat, caravan and container storage which takes away from the views
