Carp Cove Farm offers a serene camping experience, where guests consistently praise the peaceful setting and well-kept facilities. Ralph, the host, is frequently mentioned for his friendliness and helpfulness, enhancing the stay for many visitors. Campers enjoy the privacy of the sites, proximity to the river, and interaction with farm animals like donkeys and sheep. The presence of clean amenities such as bathrooms and showers contributes to a comfortable stay, making it a favorite spot for returning visitors.
This is a great site, peaceful and clean. It has amazing conveniences for cleaning up, with a big covered kitchen area, and a clean, well-kept bathhouse, but you still feel like you're away from it all.
This was such a great site! Ralph made everything so easy and was quick to respond to any questions or requests. The site itself was wonderful. Far enough from other sites to feel private and the view over the creek was great. Would definitely visit again.
Unreal experience, this was by far the best camping trip we have ever taken! The camp site was very spacious and completely private. The bathroom and hot shower were exceptionally clean and not far from the campsite (we stayed at the first one). Our kids loved the wooden bridges and the many farm animals. They have cows, horses, donkeys, sheep and more. The animals are clearly well taken care of and very enjoyable to pet, feed and watch. We especially loved carabell who will come running over to the fence when you call her name. We also enjoyed wading in the river. We didn't leave the campsite once all our time there (besides for a quick gas station visit), there was so much to see and enjoy on grounds. We couldn't pull ourselves away it was that good and ended up staying an extra night!
Ralph is an incredible host and such a kind human being. Just one example- we got stuck at the further swimming hole which is approximately a 15 minute walk from the campsite in a thunderstorm. I had mentioned to Ralph that we were going to check it out. Ralph noticed we weren't at the campsite and uninitiated he drove his atv all the way to us and gave us a ride back to camp. I can't recommend Carp Cove enough and we really hope to back soon!
Had another pleasant trip, camping on the river at CARP Cove Farm! The site is well kept and owner Ralph is the consummate host. There's a picnic table, firepit, porto, and a water spigot onsite, and the river is steps away. We've been coming here since the fall of 2018 and will surely return. Always recommended!
We love spending time here! Our family has enjoyed four reunions here and my son and I often come on our own or with friends. It is a beautiful, special place and Ralph and his family are the most welcoming hosts I have had the pleasure to meet through Hipcamp
Ralph has a great setup for camping! There is a clean restroom and shower with running hot water at the site. The site is nicely setup right next to the river with plenty of space for tents.
First time visiting Ralph’s Farm on Hipcamp and absolutely loved it. Extremely peaceful and felt truly connected with nature at its best. The washrooms were super neat and well maintained. Pictures honestly don’t do justice to how beautiful and calming the place is. Definitely planning to visit again!
Great location, great fishing, great host!! We were all alone and able to access the river easily from many locations. We had a wonderful time even when we got caught in a storm, we were able to go to the pavilion and play some games to wait it out. Ralph was wonderful, and so are his eggs!!
The perfect spot to get away from life for a few days and reconnect with nature. The cabin had everything I needed and the land was absolutely beautiful. I will definitely be going back.
We loved camping here! Ralph is very communicative and kind, flexible about check-in times, and overall very helpful if we needed anything. The site itself is beautiful, very peaceful and we had the whole place to ourselves. The only downside were the goats across the river, which made some loud noises at night, but it wasn’t enough to keep us from sleeping. Definitely would recommend
We loved tent camping at carp cove! Had absolutely no problems! Loved seeing the farm animals and being so close to the water. Will definitely be returning!
Carp Cove Farm was a great spot for a weekend camping trip! The property was beautiful, the tent sites were spotless, and the bathroom was clean. Ralph greeted us at the top of the property when we arrived to show us around, and was extremely helpful and friendly! We loved spending time in the river and meeting the animals on the farm. We'd definitely visit again and recommend this spot for anyone looking for a nice weekend getaway!
Ralph was waiting for us at the top of the hill. Excellent host. Loved all the animals on his farm. Clarabell is the best donkey… great private spot to camp and fish, kayak or just explore. Can’t wait to come back again.
We loved staying at the cabin. It was comfortable and fun, and we loved meeting the animals. The view and scenery was beautiful and relaxing. Making a fire and cooking on the fire was so fun, & I loved the conveniences of the stove and microwave when we needed it. The cabin was very well equipped too!
Had another relaxing weekend at CARP Cove! We've been coming here since 2018, and it is a frequent go-to for an nice escape from city life. We will definitely be back! Thanks again, Ralph - see you next season!
We took our 3 older kids camping for a weekend and it was a perfect trip! River was low but we still had a blast creeking. We can't wait for spring to come back.
We absolutely loved camping on Ralph's farm. The eggs and honey was delicious. He has horses, cows, sheep and a very friendly donkey. We were able to fish on the property and they had cut wood available for purchase which was very convenient. Ralph was very accommodating. There is a bathroom with a shower, a place to wash dishes, each campsite had a fire pit and plenty to explore. Definitely a place to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I definitely want to come back in the future! Thanks to Ralph for a wonderful experience
Staying at Carp Cove was an incredible experience that I will remember for the rest of my life. Even if I go back one day, which I plan to do, I know it will never be the same as my first time. Ralph is a lovely and gracious host who very obviously gives meticulous attention to ensuring that his property and sites are all in pristine condition. He graciously worked around my arrival time as as to ensure that he could meet me so that he could show me where to camp.
The sites are all next to the river and each is well kept and free of any trash or rubbish. Totally pristine.
There is also a full bathroom with a hot shower which I greatly appreciated each morning.
Walking around Ralph's property, I was moved to tears more than once, marveling at the natural beauty of the farm and surrounding West Virginia wilderness. I camped for 6 nights and I'll remember it forever.
10/10 hands down. Absolutely wonderful.
We had an awesome time at Ralph’s place. The location was amazing! Ralph was a great host. We spent a perfect day on the river fly fishing. We will absolutely be back!
