This is really a wonderful campsite! The owner are friendly, the toilets are very clean. The scenery is beautiful and the ecological environment is superb. The lake water is clear and cool. We will definitely choose this place again in the future.

Stunning views with river frontage

Absolutely loved site 3 on Michael’s property. Each site is isolated from the other, grassed, tree lined and a fire pit - all adjacent to the river. Our dog loved the swimming. Perfect for that weekend getaway. Michael is extremely friendly and his communication skills were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. We have a 2 wheel drive motor home and had no problems navigating the camp site/property. A working toilet and hand basin are located about 80 metres from site 3 - which was a bonus. The property has wonderful views overlooking the mountains. A hilly walk to a nearby lookout and seat was stunning in the early morning. All in all we had a wonderful time and I would recommend this property.

Perfect place to just completely relax we had three nights in our camper in site 1 - beautiful surroundings and nature - the river is perfect for sitting in ! Or next too The evenings are so quiet Michael is the perfect host if you need anything he will help out Toilet is super clean Can’t wait to go back

Had a great camping trip...2 couples and 3 dogs. Great place for the dogs to run and play/swim in the river. Would absolutely recommend and we'll definitely be back! Great host, very responsive and accommodating (Thanks Michael).

I loved the fact that we had the place to ourselves but even if there was others on the property it wouldn't have mattered because we cant see each other anyway. Great place for the dogs. we all just spent the time sitting in the river due to 40 degrees weather. so relaxing. going back again.

Safe and secure campsite!

Michael is an exceptionally friendly and welcoming host, he is very informative and gave clear instructions. Site 1 is fully fenced, which made it very safe and secure for both our dogs and young children. The location is beautiful and peaceful, with direct access to the river and only natural sounds. There were no traffic or other noise at all! We loved the wildlife and the stunning views from the Lover’s Seat on the hill. Flushed toilets are an easy 3-minute walk away, and town is just a short 15–20 minute drive. The picnic table, fire pits, and logs for seating were a great touch and made it perfect for relaxing together. Our family of five absolutely loved this location and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serene nature escape. Thank you Michael!

Great riverside camping

We stayed at Site 1 and cannot speak highly enough of it. Access was easy for 4 & 2WD & the site is massive. We had 5 tents and a camper trailer as well as a dome tent to provide extra shade and still had heaps of space. Access to the river is really easy. The water was shallow enough to sit a camp chair and dip your feet but if head further up or down the water there are parts deep enough to submerge more (not really swimming though). Also did a bit of fishing (saw some trout but didn’t catch any). We also saw a wombat! The toilet is a bit of a walk from site 1 (about 400m) but the facilities were really good! Michael was very friendly and easy to deal with. We will definitely be back & have recommended this site to our friends.

Quiet, shady, idyllic river spot

Beautiful shady spot beside a clean, flowing and shallow river. Michael communicated with us beforehand and met us when we arrived to make sure we had all we needed. We enjoyed walking up the steep hill to view stunning sunsets. The bird life was wonderful to witness

Site 1 was amazing! We had so much space for a group of 8 and it was fenced so we were able to let the dogs off (until one of them figured out there was a way to slip out into the creek😆). The creek was nice and shallow for the dogs to play in and dip our feet in. The toilet was not too far and it was nice and clean. We also loved the short hike up the hill to watch the sunset. Michael was easy to talk to and very accommodating. Definitely would come back😁

It was a great location. The creek is perfect to just relax in, the water flowed well while we were there. Plenty of sandy (and rocky) spots to sit in and chill. Mick was great and always able to assist with any questions. Beautiful location and we'll certainly be back again if able!

Peace & quiet time away with the fa

Great private space where the kids could run around while still feeling safe and away from home. Flushable toilet is great for the family and we enjoyed putting our camp chairs in the river to soak our feet. Michael is a great host and very welcoming. Highly recommended visit for the family if you're looking for a nice tranquil camp.

We loved camping at Michael's property. We had a few warm days during our booking but the shade of the surrounding trees and the amazing stream that runs past the camp site kept us cool. Michael was a great host pointing out all that the property has to offer. Keep an eye out for the Platypus!!

Amazing few days spent camping at the fern glade! The weather was hot but with river access being so close was great! Michael greeted us with a smile & kept us up to date when needed. This was our first trip as a family & we couldnt of had a better time! The place was big enough for our camper trailer and the river was serene! Thank you for having us and we will surely be back!

A peaceful retreat

Craig’s flat was a generous sized private site right on the small river. Plenty of room for caravans and vans with good shade trees on one side. It was too hot to use the provided fire pit or bbq. Lovely cool dips in the river hillside views and lots of birdlife made for very a peaceful and comfortable few days. Communication was excellent with Michael. There was a flush toilet close by. We will definitely be back.

Lovely river, dogs had a ball.

A lovely spot on the Murrundindi River. We tucked our van around a corner for added privacy, loved the river side for reading and an icy morning dip! Site 1 is a fenced paddock, great for dogs (a tree had bought down part of a fence so not totally dog proof atm). There is one flushing loo in a purpose built shed (rudimentary but fully functional) about 350 mt walk. Michael was accommodating, communicated well and was very friendly even when one of our dogs called over to his shack for BBQ :) .

Beautiful tranquil river setting

We loved camping here at Fern Glade, it was right beside the Murrindindi river. Beautiful and tranquil setting with the gurgling river & the birds etc. We will definitely recommend this lovely spot. Thanks Michael he was a lovely host.

Camping with 3 kids, 8, 5 & 2

Site 1 at Fernglade was the perfect camping spot for our young family. It had a safe semi-shaded area for the tent and a fence with gate to keep the kids from wondering off down to the river. The host Michael was friendly, helpful and great with communication. The river was a bit chilly for adults but the kids had a ball paddling and playing on infaltables.

Private yet accessible camping spot

We spent three nights at Craig's Flat with our three dogs and a camper trailer, and it wasn't enough time! This camp site is so easy to find, at the end of a short road and is a wide expanse that is both private and accessible. While the weather did not permit swimming in the nearby river (ah summer in Victoria!), we loved having access to the stream as well as a vast grassy space for us. A short walk to the toilet block made this site so convenient. We loved our stay and look forward to visiting again soon.

Don’t stay here

Site 1 is seriously misleading and really unpleasant. It’s a fenced off paddock with virtually no shade. Less than 1/4 of the space is grass that is usable and you’ve got two skinny trees for shade. The access road is in no way 2WD. Mazda 3 and Mitsu Lancer scratched and scrapped all the way in. It’s a 400m 4WD track in totally dry conditions. This site is directly off the main access road so all the new arrivals say hi and bye. The site/ paddock is attached to what I can only describe as a junk-hobby-farm. Heaps of old tools, structures and patched up destroyed things. It’s terrible to look at and you’ll be staring at it the whole time. It’s also where the ‘potable’/ drinking water is for all the sites! People coming to visit you in the night is fun! It’s rain water running off rusted gutters into a tank. It’s also next to a bunch of wired up solar panels and a car battery with exposed wires on a fence. This ‘riverside’ site is gated off from the creek that runs along the property. You need to go through a gate and down a hill to find a modest creek with heaps of trees collapsed in it. No chance of swimming. There’s a deeper spot through another gate but also plenty of signs saying platypus live there. Amazing! Swim in, drink and destroy their environments! The toilet block is 370m away along the 4WD track. Bringing your dog isn’t smart. 6ft high grass everywhere. Don’t stay at any of these. Fern Glade reserve is 9 minutes from this place on the same river and totally free.

We had a gorgeous stop over on Michael's property! The site was extremely private and we pulled in nice and close to the icy creek, which didn't stop the kids getting in and exploring for hours! We were self sufficient so didn't use the toilets on site, but Michael was extremely accommodating with our questions

The perfect camping spot

We loved our campsite, right next the river and under shady trees. Spaced far enough away from other campers that you feel private. Toilet facilities and bbq made life really easy and host provided really clear instructions. We are definitely booking again.
