Leven River Camping On Wattle Farm: Your Wilderness Escape Discover Leven River Camping at Wattle Farm, a tranquil retreat nestled on the edge of the wilderness, where the river and forest greet you at your front door. This naturally forested 100-acre property is a haven for abundant native wildlife, offering an idyllic escape into nature. When you book, you'll secure a site within one of our designated camping areas, with the freedom to choose your exact setup spot upon arrival. We offer two main areas: "The Big Paddock" (left of the road) and "The Little Paddock" (right of the road). The Big Paddock is ideally suited for smaller campervans, tents, swags, off-road caravans, and camper trailers. Here, you can set up anywhere within its bounds; pitching your tent among the trees or along the river is perfect for a truly immersive experience. An approximately 3-acre clearing is also available by the river. For easier access directly from the road, The Little Paddock is an excellent choice. While suitable for smaller vehicles, it's also ideal for larger caravans. This area offers approximately 5 acres of clearing right beside the river. Both paddocks are conveniently located just before the bridge and provide ample open space for outdoor activities like frisbee or cricket. Natural Surroundings & Activities: Leven River Camping borders the Dial Range Nature Recreation Area and a Nature Conservation Reserve. Our sites are set on lush, green, fern-filled river flats within a sometimes misty forested valley, cradled below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. The surrounding area boasts popular hiking and mountain biking trails. The Leven River itself is a highlight, offering some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. You'll also find perfect spots for kayaking, along with private river beaches where you can relax, paddle, swim, or enjoy a picnic. Access to the property is via a very scenic 4km, well-maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the valley. Important Information No facilities are provided on-site. Guests must bring their own camping toilet (a dumping point is available in Knights Rd, West Ulverstone) and are responsible for all rubbish removal. Campfires must be small and adhere to Tas Fire Service recommendations and regulations

After diving down the long gravel hill, through eucalypt forest and ferns, camping is on the river flats at the base of the valley. Immediately at the bottom of the hill camping is in The Little Paddock on the right . Access to the paddock is midway along the straight section of road towards the bridge (just before the power pole). Please be mindful across the bridge and other side of the river is private property. There's an area to turn, just on the other side of the bridge. Once in the camping area, please find yourself a cosy spot among the wattle tree's set up and relax. ** Please note there are no facilities, so bring a camping toilet and general waste collection and please take it with you and dispose of responsibly**on.

A good simple place to camp, safe for kids and dogs. There is only one area at the end of the paddock where the river is easily accessed but this was not an issue for us. Kids had a good time fishing, swimming, playing cricket and riding bikes. No phone reception. We will camp here again

I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 solo nights in the Little Paddock with my dog. Two other young families were also camping in the paddock, but there was plenty of space between us all and plenty of space for children to play and be kids without disturbing each other. The Paddock is grassy, fenced, and lovely and flat, flanked by bush, river and a quiet dirt road. There is access to the river via the 'beach' near the bridge which is great for a swim, fish or kayak. Lots of bird life, awoke to a family of Kookaburras singing on the first morning which was cool. Phone reception is poor, but I was able to send/receive text sms to let my partner know I'd got to my camp etc, which was nice. Other than that, you're camping, so switch off! Plenty of nice shady spots to lull the afternoon away with a book. No firewood, so bring your own. Sam kindly sent me a note when I made the booking to register my little fire with TFS, given it is end of summer and you're in the bush. It was easy to register this 3 days ahead of my stay. Highly recommend to other solo, couple, dog parents and families.

It was absolutely beautiful and quiet 🤫 nice walk to the river and my husband and absolutely in enjoyed it and we wish we had a another night 😊Definitely will go there again and our two dogs loved it 🥰

Another site I hate giving good reviews to, because I don't want too many people knowing about it. We stayed in Little Paddock and as far at the site goes, it's beautiful. Nice and flat, plenty of space, a great river to cool off in. It's at the end of a dead end road, so only locals go past. It's a shame the weather didn't play the game considering its summer, but we'll be back.

Location was lovely, serene and away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We stayed with our child and their friend (active 10 year olds) - they did get a little bored towards the end of the stay as there were limited places to explore and no playground/children's facilities. Wattle Farm would definitely be an ideal location for adults and families with older children who are happy to relax and switch off from technology 🙂 The water levels in the river were low, which made the water a yucky to swim in, and we really struggled with insects (bees/flies/wasps) - although this shouldn't reflect on the owners as this is completely out of their control 🙂

Lovely campsite, open space & ground is mostly level. We stayed in the little paddock, at night there was wildlife all about. Only one river access point, which could be blocked if someone set up there, so keep in mind

Positives: Beautiful soft, well kept lawn to set up on. We didn't even bother using our mat. A choice of full sun or full/part shaded areas. Abundant bird life. Relatively easy access to the river up near the bridge. Looked like a good spot to launch kayaks, fish or swim with caution. Fire drums and stone fire areas provided to some sites Negatives: (if you want to be pedantic) *Very small signs - we found it, but 4 vans drove past and had to turn around. * only 1 river access, which many times was being used by day visitors so access was restricted

The locatiin was gourgus, the weather was amazing, the peopel where friendly and esay to chat to, river was beautiful, we went for a swim, lots of close walking tracks. And we will deffinetly be comming back some time

We were lucky and had the whole place to ourselves. Fire pit was great, bought our own firewood. River access was fairly easy and even though I didn’t catch anything, it was very relaxing. Extremely easy to get our caravan into a good spot.

We were unsure if we were in the right spot because the directions said there were two entrances but there was only one. Maybe a Wattle Farm sign on the gate would be helpful as nobody met us there and we didn't see anyone in the two nights we stayed. Also unless you want to walk down to the sandy area there isn't alot of river access for fishing. Other than that we loved our stay here . Peaceful even with the occasional car passing. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves both nights. We will come back in summer.

The Little Paddock 2
Was lovely and sheltered and river was nice to swim in. We didn’t know before going that it’s a reasonably steep decline into the property on gravel roads and is just find a spot and set up. Was a great few days.
