This site was absolutely beautiful! Spacious for myself, 2 other guests, and 3 dogs to roam. The site was tidy, access to it was fine with an AWD/4WD vehicle! Will definitely be booking again.

Primitive, private camping 🏕️

The Stargazer site is truly a fabulous getaway spot for a small group of tenters. The road in is a little rough - totally doable with normal vehicles, but it IS a narrow and hilly gravel road in the country, so be forewarned. The compost toilet was shockingly NOT stinky, and a short ~200yd walk from the site. Very hard to get up onto the seat (it's tall, with only like a 1" deep step to shove yourself up with - another 2x4 screwed into it to give it a bit more depth would make it a lot easier to use) but I'd rather use this toilet than a poorly maintained Portapotty, for sure. Also, a sign pointing out where it is would be great, because it ends up behind you on your drive in, and it took us a bit to find it. Lots of space to park on-site. Lots of room to spread out. Only saw other campers twice the entire weekend. The wood stand was right beside the site, but was kind of pricey for how much you get in each bundle (about $1/log). I think it's a decent value if you have a small group you're splitting the cost with - it's a bit expensive if it's only one or two people, considering there is no drinking water or trash disposal available. If you're prepared to "rough it" a bit, the starry views are stunning, and the nearby waterfall was an awesome little place to get the sweat off and let our dog splash around. The host was kind and extremely responsive. Will definitely keep this site on our short list for group outings!

This is a truly great site that offers beautiful views throughout the entire day; if you orient your tent to face the overlook, you can enjoy watching the incredible sunrise without needing to leave your sleeping bag. The directions provided by the host were very clear and easy to follow. Make sure you don't miss visiting the little waterfall and swimming swimming hole on the property!

This property was a dream for a little getaway. The waterfall, the creek, the green - pure magic. Will definitely try to get back here one day. Thank you to the hosts for sharing their extremely well-maintained property with us! I brought my pup and he was overjoyed being safely off leash and playing in the stream. I had a water filter and used the spring water to drink :)

Amazing Camping Experience

The campsite was clean, peaceful, and set in an ideal location. We loved the great trails, exploring the old homestead, and especially the beautiful waterfall. There was so much to explore and enjoy, making it the perfect place to disconnect and spend time outdoors. We had a great stay and will definitely be coming back.

We had a great time camping! The sites were clearly marked and despite the wet road conditions getting back to our site, our Impreza was able to easily get in and out. The site felt private and has a nice picnic table and fire pit with numerous grates, tongs, etc to use for fire cooking. The outhouse was well stocked with wood chips, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer. The onsite firewood was also very convenient and reasonably priced. We got caught in some thunderstorms, so the platform came in handy to keep us off the ground. The highlight is definitely the short walk down to the beautiful waterfall! What a hidden gem! We definitely will be back - hopefully with less rain :)

We absolutely loved our stay! The campsite was beautiful, peaceful, and the creek was definitely our favorite part. We spent the weekend hiking, collecting firewood, exploring, cooking over the fire, and making some really great memories. The host was super friendly too!

One of the best ever!

This site is so crazily underrated. The drive out was pleasantly remote. The camping site itself is immaculate, well-manicured and splendidly vast. Be absolutely sure to take the trail to the waterfall and leave plenty of time to stay and soak in the gorgeous little stream with lots of dramatic water falls. This site was wonderfully quiet and overlooked the Allegheny River in a way inexplainable in pictures. The hosts written directions to the site are absolutely accurate and concise; follow them to a “t” and you’ll have no trouble locating it. This was one of my favorite camp sites of all time and my ten-year old loved it as well and wants to return. Bring a frisbee, some favorite beverages, great food and your troubled soul to be revived. It. Was. Great! Thank you.

So peaceful!

One night was definitely not enough here! I’d love to come back and spend more time exploring the land. The waterfall was beautiful and just a short walk from our spot. My kids loved walking in the water and looking for crayfish. It was their first time seeing one, and I realized I hadn’t seen one since I was a kid! The first thing my son said when he got out of the car was, “It’s so quiet here!” And he was absolutely right. Such a peaceful place and we really enjoyed our stay!!

What so great about Chris’s land is there’s a waterfall with a size-able pool perfect for hot summer days. It’s remote without being more than 15 min from a grocery store. We had a great time.

Amazing Location

This site reminded my husband and I why we built out a camper van and travel with our kids as much as possible. We played so hard with the girls around the property by the end of the second day we were sleeping before sunset. Walking the creek you almost immediately let go off all the worries and stresses of life. I recommend packing long clothing and good shoes you can get wet. We didn’t have any issues with ticks or mosquitoes, but the trails offer a lot of forest openings and adventure you’ll be tempted to explore and become part of nature. Highly recommend checking out Freedom Falls and Cobblehaus Brewing if you want to adventure off the property. One of the best campsites we’ve stayed at since Pictured Rocks in Michigan. It was peaceful, clean, and offered endless opportunities to connect with nature. I hope we can return in the fall!

This is a gorgeous place! Our kids loved swimming under the waterfall. I love mushrooms and found about 50 species without even venturing off trail. Very quiet, lovely stargazing, got great breakfast and coffee in Bruin on the way out. Magical stay!
