Originally settled in 1889 "Bobs Grant" this lovely property and the surrounding land was originally used for farming but is now mostly turf farms. Enjoy our little getaway down by the Hawkesbury River only 10 minutes from historic Windsor. A beautiful river shack for your use exclusively, including fire pit with direct access to the Hawkesbury river. Bring your caravans, tent or swag - all are welcome! Unfortunately, boats are not. Relax and enjoy the serenity whilst being only 1 hour from Sydney. We offer the site to one group only, a maximum of 20 guests. However note, we are not a place for rowdy groups and parties. Groups are welcome here to enjoy the time with their family and friends, play a little music and relax by the river. The river can get busy (which is great after the floods as it has been dead for so long) and so can the road across the river but if you are enjoying your family and friends you won't even notice! We have one basic toilet, and one river water shower available too! Please bring your own drinking water. You can bring your dogs, but they must be on a leash at all times. We have three little puppies that love to roam their property. We lock them up sometimes but most of the time they are just running around having fun. We had a wonderful stay at Megans property. We are seasoned campers, but it was really awesome for a change instead of being completely off grid, to have some essentials provided. I LOVED the hot shower, huge sink for washing up, the fridge, undercover area, fireplace, tables, pizza oven (which we cooked damper in) and all the little touches around the place. It was still camping but just a little bit easier. Megan was also such a lovely welcoming host. We will 100% be back! Thank you so much Megan :)

This is our third time staying here and it will not be our last. As always, Megan and Trevor are amazing hosts. We have had exceptional weather on each occasion and even when there was a little rain, the amenities are so great that you are completely covered. The optional fireplace inside and outside. The fridge, pizza oven, tables / chairs. There is not much you want for. Highly recommend.

This was to date the best camp site we have visited with our 3 children. The hosts Megan and Trevor could not be more hospitable and did everything they could to make our stay fantastic. We will definitely return. Thanks again for the great trip the kids cannot wait to get back!

Had 3 nights here on our 2nd visit and will be back again. Great location on the Hawkesbury, superb open walled shed with a big fire place, outdoor firepit. Facilities are fantastic, toilet and hot shower, sinks for washing up. Lovely hosts and great communication. Only 5 mins drive to pub, IGA, bakery.

Great spot! Power and Shower on the river, what more could you want. People are right about the road noise but was of no concern for us. Will definitely be back.

Fab spot! Feels like you have the place to yourselves even though it’s so close to sydney. The covered area and fire pit were perfect for a damp weekend and the gorgeous caravan kept the non-campers happy ;) Megan and Trevor were immediately responsive and really helpful and friendly

Amazing spot! It has everything you need, amazing views and the owners are super friendly They also have two dogs that occasionally come down to say hello which was a plus! I would definitely recommend it

It was absolutely fabulous! Way better than expected. For a group, this is IDEAL!!! When the add said “river shower”, I was a bit worried however, it more means a view of the river! The shower was HOT!! It was way better than expected. We had a group of 9 young children and they all were so happy, played the entire time and parents relaxed.

Lovely spot. Great facilities. When I went it was pretty rainy and the set up was great. Heaps of shelter, with tables and chairs aswell as some basic kitchen things. There’s a bit of road noise from across the river during the day but it’s quiet at night.

We had a great time with friends at Down by the Hawkesbury. The communal area with fireplace, pizza oven, fire pit, fridge, string lights and power is a fantastic space to hang out. Hot shower and toilet great (note: need to bring own toilet paper). There is a big grass area behind where the kids can run wild and they had a great time playing in the river. The hosts kindly chopped wood for us (for a fee), which saved us having to try fit wood in the car with all our gear. You do need to be aware that on the other side of the river is a busy road so you do get the sound of traffic throughout the day as well as on the river (jet skis etc).

Amazing camping spot right on the Hawkesbury River. Beautiful surroundings, clean facilities, and plenty of space to relax. The toilets and showers were well maintained, and the whole place felt peaceful and family-friendly. Friendly hosts and the cutest dogs made the stay even better. Perfect for a few nights away — we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

To have a place to ourselves was fantastic. The instructions were clear and Megan always replied to our questions. Being along side the river along with the amenities helped make the weekend a memorable one, even if the weather tried to spoil it.

Lovely spot by the river. The outdoor kitchen and fire pits were fabulous. Steps down to the river so you could go for a swim. Plenty of room for everyone. Hosts were very responsive to any inquiries. Great place to stay

This is a fantastic space, a little piece of paradise. We had a great time, facilities could not have been better and the owners are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Couldn't recommend this space more, they've got everything you need. The undercover area was perfect. Great for dogs and groups wanting a private space. Camping with added luxuries.

Great camp by the river with great communal area with plenty of facilities including a great wood fired pizza oven! Plenty of space for kids to ride bikes and good access to water for swimming or fishing. Would love to come again some time!!

A well maintained site with fantastic facilities. The huge undercover area was fabulous during our stay as we had rain on and off and we were all able to gather together. The undercover fire place and pizza oven were also enjoyed. We brought along our inflatable SUP and Kayak and were able to use these in the river, however be mindful there is motorised watercraft using the river also. We had a really enjoyable stay with our family. (3 couples)

A lovely spot, Spent a couple of hot days swimming in the river and nights around the camp fire. The site had shower,loo, lovely shelter even a fridge. A great long weekend, thanks.

Absolutely loved this site. The shack, toilet and shower made this glamping for us. Having easy access to the Hawksbury water on a scorching day was pure bliss. Enjoying the long weekend with our dogs as well was the cherry on the top. Trevor and Megan were so easy to deal with.

Rained a lot during our stay, and we still had a great time. The sheltered fireplace was amazing, and the fairy lights created a warm and homely space. The fishing was fun. Mostly small bream, but we did manage to land and release a legally sized bream. There was constant river traffic and road noise from across the river, but don't let that deter you from booking this top spot. Megan and Trevor were both very responsive, and were excellent hosts. Also, their friendly, super cute sausage pups came to visit regularly - a welcomed bonus.

Great location, very handy having the undercover space with a fire pit and lighting, along with access to the river. Great hosts and we will definitely be back with the dog and 3 kids (9-12yo) as they all loved it

Great spot for an easy, convenient camp. Big shed with all the mod cons, fridge and shower were well appreciated. We had an excellent stay. Megan and Trevor are absolute legends!

So lovely having the entire place to ourselves (plus the owners doggies). Hot river water shower and a toilet makes camping there a treat. Bit noisy with all the speed boats going most of the day but other than that, was great.

This was our third time camping here in a year, so you could say it’s become a favourite spot of ours. We love being right on the water, watching the sun go down and topping it off with a wood fire pizza. We are always nervous to share where we have been in fear everyone will book it as it’s that good! Can’t wait to already be back. Thanks again. Bree
