After staying at a few campsites through our trip to NSW, Natalie’s property and amenities were like a breath of fresh air! The brand new amenities made the stay and were well taken care of. And the closeness to a variety of wineries was awesome. A great way to see the Hunter Valley. Can’t wait to see what everything will look like when the renovations are all done and we will need to come back during the wineries business hours to try! The views, friendly horses and stars were perfect.

A gem….

While I know this is a little more pricey than other Hunter Valley alternatives. However, this site is extremely private. There is a lovely, premium hot shower and toilet on site (admittedly they are still doing some construction- however, it doesn’t impact) and best of all, one can walk to some outstanding vineyards / cheese factory. If you have a hound 🐾, it’s heaven. There was a tiny glitch on initial communications and I think some of the direction to the site wasn’t so clear, but all worked out well. When you come through the second gate, follow the driveway all the way past the dam on your right, to the second building with the gravel area.

The Binet family are incredibly welcoming and friendly hosts. I couldn’t recommend their property in Pokolbin more highly. The property is within walking distance of several wineries, including their own cellar door. Their wine tasting was one of the highlights of our trip, with some of our favourite wines from the entire Hunter Valley. They’re also in the process of adding more bathroom and shower facilities, which are modern, spotless, and very well maintained. The campsite itself offers both level gravel sites and grassy areas. A fantastic location, great facilities, and wonderful hosts. We would happily stay again.

If you love camping and love wine, this place is for you. Great location in heart of Pokolbin. The camp site was excellent, offering well maintained amenities. Natalie is an amazing host, very welcoming and their wines are spot on.

Very lovely stay at the winery Enjoyed the tasting on site without having to have a designated driver. Never had so many light reds Lucky accident that a hot air balloon landed on site by mistake

This place ticks all the boxes! The host is amazing, the views are awesome and with a cellar door literally on your doorstep, does it get any better? Close to everything you could possibly need for a visit to the beautiful Hunter Valley

Wake up with troop of Kangaroos, 5star hotel class bathroom with hot shower- I was solo camping however Natalie’s hand on support, I felt safe and relaxed.

Lovely camping spot on this big grassy field overlooking a dam. Extremely peaceful, yet central location, very close to all of the wineries and attractions of Pokolbin. There is a brand new toilet and shower which are amazing, but no basin yet (which didn’t bother us but might affect others).

We really enjoyed Natalie’s campsite for a great Hunter Valley location . It’s situated in a perfect precinct to get around easily., close to amazing restaurants, wineries & distilleries. Such a lovely atmosphere to also have a Cellar Door on-site. Also great there are bathroom facilities.

Beautiful location, the kangaroos and duck around the site were a great addition to our stay. Facilities are great and the view was incredible, not to mention the hot air balloons floating past. A great experience, will be back again.

Disappointed

Sadly I had a disappointing experience and would not revisit this site. Communication is the key to any successful operation and in this particular instance it was extremely lacking from my perspective. For the price it fell way short of a great experience, lack of communication meant I was unable to access the bathroom facilities. The site was pleasant enough but not outstanding, and certainly not worth the amount of money they ask for in my opinion. Location is convenient to wineries.

Natalie was lovely, and the location was fantastic. I couldn't imagine being any closer to the wineries. The only thing worth noting is that the shade is limited, and there is only one toilet and shower on the campsite.

Best for self sufficient campers

I was grateful to find this camp site in the expensive Hunter Valley. I was a tent camper and only needed a base to sleep. Pros: Close to the Hunter Valley tourist locations. Probably a good base if you have a fully self sufficient campers van. Cons: Poor/non-existent signage for camping, host unresponsive in app messaging, no shade, one toilet & shower for all campers - no access to a toilet if someone was in the shower. No hand basin to wash hands or clean teeth.

Our experience with Pokolbin Station was lovely. The location was very central and based around a lot of wineries. The view from the campsite itself was wonderful. The highlight of the one night stay was waking up to hot air balloons floating over the campsite as the sun was rising.

Central location, easy walk to the gardens, shopping village, pub, cheese factory and distillery. Would love to come back and stay when the property is well established. Host was great to deal with and very helpful.
