Weekend Trip to An Experience!-Golden Ears Glamping
Greg and Shelly are extremely kind and have such a beautiful home! Very clean and LOTs of appliances and fun things to do in and on the property. They had dry firewood ready for use and the hottub was hot and well kept. We had hummingbird visitors and were able to go down to the river and see salmon swimming! We used the bbq that was full of propane also. We are returning guests and highly recommend visiting! They were so generous to invite us to stay longer past the check out time as there were no guests after us so we enjoyed being able to sleep in and pack up without rushing. Very happy to be up in such a gorgeous area. Don’t hesitate to book with them!

We stayed in Alder site #2 for 2 nights. The smaller the site number, the closer you are to the porta potty, water source, and petting farm (very cute animals!). All the sites are just on the same mulch road, a few meters apart.
The site was nice and scenery very peaceful, though it was a bit small we still managed 2 large tents and a shelter for the rain.
but it got quite loud at night as you could hear animals in the distance, and a lot of barking (neighboring areas, not on-premise dogs)
Overall we had a wonderful time and are grateful that spaces like this exist not too far from town.

A perfect site for camping! Thanks to Carmen for her welcome, and to her friendly dog Molly for her company at dinner and who garded at night. The chalet for the toilets is very nice and clean. A hot shower would have been nice but we were warned before our arrival that it didn't work.

We were travelling through Pemberton on our way to Whistler on a busy weekend and all the area campgrounds were full. We looked on Hipcamp and found Gabe’s place was 5 minutes away. Gabe was quick to reply to our message and the directions to get there were easy to follow. We spent a quiet peaceful night. Unfortunately the wild fire smoke in the area blocked the beautiful views we saw in the pictures. We were thankful to have the spot.

We loved the camping there! The two hosts were super nice people and we ended up chatting quite a while while they showed us around. The campsite is very nice too: the pit toilet has a water bucket to wash hands and soap. Each campsite has a picknick table. There was only one other guest that night, so it was relatively privat. Would absolutely recommend.

Carmen’s campsite, HayLmore, is amazing.
There is a washroom with a flush toilet and sink which is kept clean. Behind the bathroom building is a double sink, for dishes, dish soap included. Can and plastic recycling as well as a place for garbage- please keep garbage to a minimum as it’s a regular size garbage bin and there are other campers.
We stayed a ponderosa which to me is the most private spot, and I’ll definitely stay there again.
We had a 20’ pick-up with slider camper.
Molly (the dog) keeps to herself these days as she’s getting a little older, but she still loves pets.
Carmen sells her eggs, tomatoes (or veggies of the season too).

Overview
About
From time immemorial, Nch’ḵay̓, the territory’s tallest mountain (called Garibaldi by surveyors) has been used by the Squamish people for ceremonies and as source of obsidian. Easily accessible from Vancouver and now a wilderness park, the area encompasses 1,950 square kilometres (753 square miles), and has over 90 kilometres of easy, intermediate, and advanced multi-day hiking trails, plus hundreds of hike-in camping spots including backcountry campgrounds, camp shelters, and wilderness camping. Garibaldi Provincial Park is the traditional territory of the Squamish people.
Notable campgrounds
- Best for families: Cheakamus Lake Campground has an easy, three-kilometre hike, 10 lakeside tent pads, and pit toilets.
- Best for adventurers: Wedgemount Lake Campground features a spectacular glacial lake and a challenging eight-kilometre hike.
- Best for scenic views: Taylor Meadows Campground is known for its alpine flowers that bloom in late summer and early fall.
Tips for snagging a campsite
- Reservations are required year-round and must be booked through BC Parks’ Discover Camping website.
- If visiting weekends or holidays (Canada Day, BC Day, or Labour Day), you’ll want to secure a spot as far in advance of your trip as possible.
- Wilderness camping outside the set campgrounds requires a permit and is only available for mountaineers, climbers, ski tourers, and other visitors with advanced wilderness skills.
When to go
Garibaldi Provincial Park is open for campers year-round. The main hiking season is from July through September while the ski season runs November through April. Outside of those months the trails may be muddy or impassable.
Know before you go
- This rugged wilderness park has challenging multi-day hikes and remote backcountry campgrounds.
- Visitors need to pack in and out everything they need, including water.
- Wildlife is common in this park, so food needs to be hung or stored in the available facilities.
- Dogs and fires are not permitted.
- Park Bus offers transit service to the Rubble Creek Trailhead for those without a vehicle.
