Mike was so incredibly helpful (even helped us find a dog sitter!) and the site was really gorgeous- the river was so close and we felt very secluded, though we were close enough to Rico to get anything we needed. We would absolutely stay here again.
Beautiful spot on the river
Beautiful property outside Rico. There is a footpath that will take you into town about 20 mins. Excited to come back when the glamping tent is built! The river runs very high here and there is no "beach".
If was a great site next to the Delores River. There was some sort of construction project going on, stack of lumber on site. Directions were pretty good but google map link wasn't accurate. It rained during the night which made the road out very greasy. We enjoyed our stay and would book again.
Well worth it!
The site was pretty clean. Lots of space and even had a few semi-cleared areas that we were able to spread out on, put up a hammock, be able to relax away from the general area.
There 6 tents, 10 people and we had tons of room.
The host checked in with me, and while my phone was dead most of the weekend, I know he made sure we were okay.
Really clear to Telluride and hat some great hiking in general. Definitely worth the stay!
Great spot along the river and just about a mile south of the town of Rico (Hipcamp's map isn't accurate). We stayed here for a couple days. There is some equipment on the property but, plenty of privacy and the river access is great. We stayed here by ourselves in a camper trailer but, it looks like there is another site on the property a few hundred yards away. Tent or RV, spot is perfect. Great spot for a fire too.
It is about 25 min to Telluride from the property and 10 minutes to Trout Lake. About a 20 minute walk into town of Rico.
For $75 a night, I expected more. Tons of trash/ particle board/ junk in fire pit???The photos posted are probably on the ranch- but not what we saw. Very close to road- loud road noise. Ground kindof torn up. Great directions; however, there is free camping all around- National Forest. Very disappointed. We “splurged” so we knew we had a site - as we were arriving after 8 hour drive. Left after one night. For this money- site should be nicer.
Had a blast at campsite #3. You’ve got the two other camp sites within a couple hundred feet but never felt a lack of privacy.
What a treat to set up tent on the riverbed. Beautiful mountain vistas to wake up and go to sleep to.
Perfect launching spot for a weekend of fun!
Magical setting, under construction
This piece of property is magical. You have to be ready to accept that it is a work in progress, I know they are working on pulling the stumps out of the campsite, and that was difficult in regard to pitching tent. One thing that they don't advertise is being able to connect to cellular--and that is certainly chopping in that area.
