Description

The smaller of the two campgrounds at Black Butte Lake, Orland Buttes Campground has almost everything its big brother has, even the fish cleaning station. Just be aware that it closes up shop for half the year and is only available April through September. Post in jest about your Bigfoot or spider monkey sighting on the camp bulletin board!

I've been here about 6 times and really miss going here. It's a great weekend getaway from Chico and it is cheap! It is easy to get reservations and there are 35 sites! It is only $20 per night and they have flush toilets, hot showers, and fish cleaning stations.

This is located at Black Butte Lake and managed by the Army Corps of Engineers. There are hiking trails, Black Butte Dam, and a full disc golf course nearby. It is fun to take a short hike to the lookout point and watch the sunset where you will find 2 benches. Across the lake the Buckhorn Campground is open year-round. It is a good place for RVs too.
Beware: there are rattlesnakes, raccoons, deer, and other wildlife.
