You are welcome to bring a tent or another vehicle to sleep up to two additional people.

THE NOOK

Comfortable for seating four adults, the nook is a great place to hang out and play a card game, or serve a tiny-home cooked meal.  Cuddle up with blankets and hot drinks.  We also keep a large doggie bed stuffed in one of the booth seats for your furry friend.

The big drawers are great for storing your weekender bag and hangers by the door organize your coats.

KITCHEN

Everything you need to cook with a propane oven and stove-top.  The Cedar Shack is stocked with a basic pot, cast-iron skillet, small baking sheet, pie pan, colander, tea kettle, plates, bowls, cups, mugs, flat wear, mixing bowls, Chimex-style pour-over coffee maker + filters, knives, cutting board, cork screw, and scissors.  We also provide our guests with complimentary organic black tea, organic green tea, organic free trade coffee, organic olive oil, and salt + pepper grinders.  For dish washing, a new sponge is provided for each reservation.

LOFT

The comfy queen bed is nestled in the loft with a Buffy cloud comforter and pillows, Parachute linen duvet cover, and fresh sheets for every stay.  Enjoy slow mornings with the small collection of books. Windows provide natural light, fresh air, and forest sounds.

PRIVATE FIRE PIT, PICNIC TABLE, & LOUNGERS

Outside the front door of the Cedar Shack are two wooden loungers positioned towards the Mount Adams view.  Relax, sip, and star gaze. To the side of the Cedar Shack is your own private fire pit and picnic table.  Stainless steel pints are provided for fireside sipping.  Roast some s'mores and enjoy the stars. Fire bans in Klickitat County typically start in June and last through October.  It is your responsibility to adhere to all fire bans.  There is a water spigot and hose adjacent to the fire pit.

MOUNTAIN VIEW BENCH + TRAILS

Explore the surrounding forest!  We are on 15 acres with two adjacent sides of the property backing up to hundreds of acres of logging land.  Old logging roads wind trails through the woods and along the ridge for mountain views.  The bench and trails are shared with our Klickitat Treehouse guests.

THE WELL HOUSE

The Well House is located near the treehouse guest parking.  This is a shared building with the Klickitat Treehouse guests.  It includes a sink, toilet, and outdoor shower with shampoo, conditioner, and castile soap.  Bath towels are provided for indicated number of guests.  There is also a washer + dryer with septic-safe laundry soap and stain remover.  Guest laundry hours are before 11am or after 4pm as house cleaners use the washer + dryer between 11am-4pm.

RECOMMENDED ITEMS TO BRING

-Head lamps: There are twinkle lights strung outside that provide nice lighting at night.  Headlamps are always helpful when camping!

-Kindling and firewood: We provide a small amount of dry wood for starting a fire in the wood burning stove to heat the tiny house, but we recommend bringing dry wood for the outdoor fire pit (or see what you can pick up around the property)!

-Camp chairs

-Camp cooler

-Camera

-Extra blankets, sleeping bag, and warm clothes: if you are someone who runs cold or does not want to wake up in the night to re-stoke the wood burning stove then bring extra gear! It can get cold, especially in the winter.

I loved my stay in Colin and Taryn's Cedar Shack! Their land is absolutely beautiful. The fall colors were really showing out there.

GPS and the hosts' directions accurately guided me to the property. You do drive a ways through the woods until you can see the tiny house up a hill and to the right. I did not meet the hosts, but they were communicative through texts. I suggest providing a guidebook for details and amenities of the shack, just to make sure us campers respect the property.

The Cedar Shack is aesthetically designed and spacious for a tiny house. It looked like someone put great thought and care into building the shack. I loved the the mini wood fired stove with wood provided. The stove kept the shack perfectly warm. I did not cook with the propane powered stove/oven inside, but it's great to have the option! Another bonus is the shack being dog friendly for those adventurous pups.

Electricity is not hooked up to the shack. A lantern is provided, but it may be good to bring extra lighting. The bed was very comfortable, though I do suggest some one sleeping there to have strong upper body strength to pull themselves up to the bed. It's high up and didn't have a ladder available. A couple of bars are there to hold on to, but I feel a ladder would be a better option to the bed.

I really enjoyed staying at the Cedar Shack and I would love to come back again. There is plenty of room outside the Cedar Shack to have a group camp as well.

Protip: While in White Salmon, stop in to Everybody's Brewing! Also, I had a delicious smoothie and biscuits and gravy at the North Shore Cafe. I highly recommend checking them out.

On a clear day, Mt Adams can be seen in the distance.PeacefulWalk down the path to see amazing views!Cedar Shack by Klickitat Treehouse

We arrived a little later than we had expected but directions were spot on and found the space easily. The "shack" is so cute! It has basic cooking supplies and a propane stove/oven if you are going to cook. We had to fiddle with the propane tank a little to get the stovetop going. Not sure if it was running low or what. Bed is super comfy. We brought our sleeping bags and slept on top of the bed and were toasty warm. Make your way down to the bench (just down the hill) for your morning coffee. Beautiful mountain views! We'll definitely be back.

Very well thought out and constructed mini cabin in a great location. We spent our Thanksgiving off the grid with our two boys at the site and loved it. The clouds cleared on our last morning and we woke up to Mt. Adams right out the front door. We spent some time in White Salmon and checked out some of the spots recommended by Colin and Taryn. What a great weekend away. Thanks.

We had a great experience and loved the thoughtful details. We did a full on Thanksgiving feast with multiple courses and filled it with love!

Dabbing pizza kid. What a perfect way to spend “Black Friday”Love the detailed woodwork. A perfect place for our canned dilly beans and pickles. Fungus galore. So much fun seeking it out!

The Cedar Shack exceeded our expectations. Private and secluded, yet close enough to town to quickly grab food/supplies. Bed was extremely comfortable. View of Mt Hood was spectacular. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfast. Loved the thoughtful touches like hand-drawn map, ample sources of light, and extra firewood for kindling. Will be back for sure.

The Cedar Shack was absolutely adorable! Beautifully built and extremely cozy. The small space forced us to take our time and move slow. The shack had so many little amenities to use - coffee maker, grinder, cutting board, water, plates, etc. The view was beautiful and we were able to go xc skiing right from the property (we were lucky enough to stay in the snow)!

One of my favorite elements of this location was how secluded you are. The view of Mt Adams from the loft/property is incredible. We also enjoyed checking out the great breweries in both Hood River and White Salmon.

I'd definitely stay here again and would suggest it to anyone looking for some quality downtime in a beautiful place.

I had such an amazing stay in this tiny home! Well-decorated interior and homey feel, as well as lots of privacy and nature to yourself. There’s a bench with a straight shot of the mountain and all the trees and it was truly a nature lover’s paradise. Would recommend 10/10. Very therapeutic and restorative, as well as close enough to city to go charge phone and what not.
