From the campsite, hop on the 4.5 mile round-trip Red Canyon trail that leads into a large box canyon, through pinyon and juniper trees. The site is open year 'round, but check conditions with the Visitor Center before you solidify your plans.

The site we had was gorgeous, tucked back in a tree lined area. The restrooms leave much to be desired and it's right beside the dumpsters, but the showers were hot and there were plenty to not have to wait.
