My wife and I brought our 2 kids (ages 6 and 7) for a night at Rio Bravo Ranch. It was fantastic! The hosts have set up everything you need for a great experience! The shade structure and the picnic tables are great, but do not take away from the environment, which is what we were hoping for at this location. We love Far West Texas and have always wanted a private camping spot with great views, that feels rustic, but has the amenities you need for a young family. Rio Bravo Ranch fits the bill. Another draw for us was the proximity to the entrance to Big Bend Ranch State Park. Until now, unless you are staying in the state park itself, you had a long drive to get into the park. Staying at Rio Bravo Ranch makes the drive into the park much less time consuming. It's a great "base camp" for exploring the park! We will definitely be back and would recommend Rio Bravo Ranch to anyone looking for solitude and proximity to BBRSP!

Great home base for discovering the big bend area! Close to the state park and right off 170 which takes you most everywhere you want to be. Lots of land to explore on the property. Great mountain views! Small amount of light pollution from the town of presidio in the distance. Overall would recommend and stay here again! Thanks Lauren & Family!!

I had a beautiful stay at Rio Bravo over new year. Perfect quiet escape after spending days with the crowds at Big Bend. The family happened to be in town because of the holiday so had a chance to meet Lauren and her sweet family. If you are in the area and looking for a nice quiet spot I definitely recommend Rio Bravo.

Beautiful camping space. The outdoor shower was a really good experience! We swam in the Rio Grande just down the road and then watched the amazing stars deep into the night. The weather was actually really pleasant and the site had a covered area with a table. All the directions were clear and the accomodations were as expected.

This was something idyllic out of a desert movie. Considering this is one of the only places you can stay to experience the Chianti mountains, and everything was secluded and well maintained. Sleep in fields of chaparral and enjoy the sun moon and stars on all sides. My daughter really enjoyed this and being on top of a hill. We felt very safe in case we were to encounter any critters. Would definitely stay again. The host was very thorough and kind. I felt the purity of the energy in land and the love the caretakers have for the land. Nothing beats that in today’s times.

We had such a great time enjoying the great outdoors at Rio Bravo. Having access to the Chinati-potty is super convenient and there is nice shade with the pavilion provided. The surroundings are beautiful and so open. The stars really put on a show for us and the sunrise was something else. If you come in the hotter months just be prepared and maybe find an activity in town for the hottest times of the day. Overall we were very happy and look forward to returning soon!

The site was clean and well kept, the stars were amazing, and the mountain views were incredible! It feels like you are out in the middle of nowhere (in the best way). It was SO beautiful! And we so enjoyed having a toilet and shower available! I would DEFINITELY stay here again!!!!
