Heritage Farms, located in the heart of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, is a 5th-generation, family-owned Christmas tree farm founded in 1848. Camping began ten years ago. We offer six shelters and nine primitive tent sites. We are incredibly close to the various trails located across the Cuyahoga Valley. THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK! 1.WE DO NOT ALLOW FIREWOOD to be brought onto Heritage Farms property due to the potential risk to our crops and according to State and Federal Regulations. Firewood bundles may be purchased when making your reservations or upon arrival at the farm. 2. No vehicles may be driven into the camping area at any time. 3. All vehicles must remain in the designated parking lots 4. Campers are responsible for carrying their gear to their campsites—we provide wheeled carts for your use. 5. Ohio Primitive Camping licensing does not allow wheeled camping on Heritage Farms property. 6. Due to Summit County Health regulations, we cannot provide water. Please bring your own drinking and washing water. Or you may purchase 1-gallon jugs of water when you reserve your site or upon arrival. Our restrooms are porta Johns. 7. Tent sites (labeled A-J) have space for up to 3 tents. Shelter sites (numbered 1-6) have room for up to 2 additional tents. All sites are limited to a maximum of 6 campers 8. Heritage Farms is a working Farm. Please be aware that tractors and other machinery are in use during daylight hours 9. Check-in time is from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. If you’re arriving after 7:00 p.m., please let us know. Checkout time is 10:00 a.m. Please use the dumpster for all trash. Gray water stations are available for the disposal of used water. 10. Only campers registered to HipCamp are permitted to overnight on Heritage Farms property. We do not allow parties and underage or excessive use of alcohol at any time. 11. DOG POLICY: We welcome dogs who have received prior permission from the farm owners. A dog registration form including proof of rabies vaccination must be filled out upon arrival. Unvaccinated dogs are not permitted on the property. All dogs MUST always be on a leash and in the physical control of their owner(s). No pets may be left unattended at any time.

Sat upon the hill overlooking our creek is Campsite C, which comprises an open terrain to sprawl out on one end, and a few trees on the other side for hammocks and shade. Not to mention, the view across the creek bed, the covered bridge, and the majestic rolling acres of the farm is nothing to scoff at either! Loved the overall energy of the site. I stayed in site #4 and originally was going to be in a tent site further away from the parking lot. It rained all day prior to my arrival so I was able to move to my new site last minute with the host’s help - this was SO appreciated! I am glad I did site 4 after all. There were no privacy issues with it being close to the lot and it’s separated from the other cars.

Overall it was an okay place to camp but there were some things that weren’t the best about this campsite. You can only bring things to your camp using wheelbarrows because you have to keep your car in the designated parking lot, which we knew beforehand, but the wheelbarrows they provide are not sturdy at all and when I was carting my belongings to our uphill campsite it tipped over and threw my stuff in the mud. Another thing is that our path to our camp was very muddy so the cart was having a hard time getting through it and we had to go around the path in the tall grass. They could have put some straw down or something to make it easier for the cart and shoes lol. Lastly, I understand that the camp is super close to Cuyahoga and that was definitely a plus but for the amount of money per night that we spent, I feel like there could have at least been flush toilets. The porta potties weren’t the worst I’ve seen but it would have made the trip a lot better if they upgraded to toilets. Other pros besides for proximity was that it was a very scenic site and there was plenty of space between campsites. The sites themselves seemed maintained as well so that was a plus.

Peaceful campsite, and interesting location right on a Christmas tree farm! The amenities were nice, with clean porta-potties, nice fire rings, and picnic tables, with the wood I pre-ordered waiting for me right at the site! You will need to walk all your gear from your car to the tent sites, but wheelbarrows were provided for this, which made it easy. Tent sites were a bit closer together than I had hoped, but overall a great stay.

I loved this little camping spot as it seemed more secluded with trees and the little creek was just perfect. Randy was outstanding and we appreciate all he did for us during our stay! They deliver wood to your campsite which is amazing. Lastly - THE CLEANEST AND NICEST PORT-A-POTTY!! Makes camping so much easier/nicer (especially for a 30 week pregnant woman). Throughly enjoyed the view and the drive was quick to any cuyahoga valley national park location.

We booked site 5 for the weekend and it was an amazing trip! The view was beautiful and the sunset was perfect from where we were. There were other campers around but everyone was quiet. The option to pre purchase wood was great and it was covered at our site when we arrived. My only negative was bonking my head on the wood in the shelter! Just be more careful than me and you’ll be okay😂 I would 100% return!!

We absolutely loved staying here! The site is very well maintained, they deliver the wood for you, and overall it was very peaceful and beautiful. Bathrooms were not too far of a walk away. You can see a few other camp spots, but it doesn’t feel too close together at all. Anything we needed was a short drive away as well. We will definitely be returning!

We loved camping here among the Christmas trees! So idyllic with many personal touches like a lending library with books and games. We so appreciate having firewood delivered directly to the campsite and that the wood is covered with a tarp to keep it dry. George and Carol were kind and helpful. Will definitely be back!

Great primitive camp site, book and game borrowing wagon, they do have a platform, but our tent was a little too big for it. They do need to trim the tree next to the site as there are some branches over the fire pit, but otherwise a great site!

First of all, it's unfortunate that hipcamp only allows you to thumbs a place up, select mixed feelings, or thumb it down. I'd ultimately rate this place a The location is fantastic and in great proximity to the trail heads. The property is gorgeous and most of the reviews capture this well. 5/ The sites are not private. It's not necessarily a bad thing as they're spaced out decently. However, site J is still in full visibility of other sites and that is the "most secluded" site offered. Keep this in mind if that bothers you. The sites are far enough apart that it didn't bother us. The only reason I wouldn't give this place a 5/5 is the "wagons". We left our actual wagon at home since the description used that verbiage. They're more akin to wheelbarrows with two wheels that can "kind of" be pulled. I stay at hipcamps all year round and they are typically very forthcoming as to whether it's strictly a hike in, wagons on site, or some type of shuttle. How gear had to be transported was rough. We over packed thinking there would be wagons so we took some blame. However, we then watched a solo camper also struggle to take back his gear which was about 1/4 of ours. These things are rough and we were questioning if we would have been better off just carrying everything. The ground was wet which contributed negatively to how they worked. Hosts communicated quickly and concisely. The property was well maintained and we'll definitely be back (with a wagon, lol).

Great place to camp, had a fantastic time staying in the A frame! Campsite had everything we needed and was a perfect place to stay when visiting the national park. Sounds from the road nearby could sometimes be heard, but it wasn’t much of an issue.

What a wonderful time we had! The grounds are beautiful, quiet, and serene. What a cool experience sleeping amongst the Christmas trees! The hosts were extremely gracious and welcoming. We strongly recommend staying here!

I enjoyed my stay here. It was a unique camping arrangement, but I like the layout. The Christmas trees were lovely to see each morning. Our campsite was nice and secluded. The porta potties were well stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer and did not smell. They were very clean.

Beautiful tree farm

We stayed Monday-Thursday and it was absolutely beautiful. Our hosts were very kind and attentive. We stayed in site 2 which is pretty much in the middle of the tree farm, stunning sunsets and the stars at night were gorgeous. I will stay if you over pack like us it’s more to carry lol but the wheel barrels they have are very useful. We’ve from Richmond va and will most definitely stay again next time we’re in the area! -on a different note I think you guys could do a lot with your sites during Christmas time! Maybe in the glamping site have a hot cocoa station, the other you could do pictures with Santa or even elf’s! We think it could be a great profit margin for you guys! 10/10 would recommend this site

We reserved our spot late in the evening. They were great and very helpful! We loved the A-Frame. Firewood was great they included some firestarter and the wood was nice and dry. The covered box was a great bonus it kept it dry at night and when it rained. Over all loved the location and the facilities. The lending barn was very cute and my daughter borrowed a few games for us to play in the evening. There are alot of little extras and info which is a great added touch. We are planning a trip back and hoping to get friends to come along :)

The land was beautiful and each campsite was secluded from each other for a more primitive feel. The owners weren’t super friendly but they were very attentive with stocking the firewood and didn’t make a fuss about our campsite getting completely destroyed by the rainstorm. Definitely get a site with a platform or built in canopy if you have any concern about the rain!

Lovely spot, the lean to was cozy, even when it hit 44 degrees overnight. Appreciated the propane grill and covered picnic table. Nice and quiet.

Not a very good experience! I booked almost a month ahead. I paid for the bad whether insurance but didn't get any refund for the rain. It was cold and raining in the night.

We have come back to camp with Carol and George 3 times and every time has been amazing! We love coming here and would recommend it for everyone. This past trip was probably the most people we've seen at one time but the sites are far enough away that we didnt hear anyone else.

An Enjoyable October Stay
Campsite 5
This is my second time staying at Heritage Farms and, specifically, site 5. I enjoy the location very much. Shelter 5 is near the parking lot, so gear only needs carried 30 feet or so. There's a nice view over the farm. This stay was particularly fun because through the day they had October activities going on (corn maze, pumpkin patch, a children's scavenger hunt, etc) and from the shelter, I could hear children and families participating in the activities. I also hiked to the other corner of the property to campsite H (I believe that's the correct site name) from which you can access a 2.75-mile trail in CVNP. I hiked the trail and enjoyed the orange leaves, the trail itself, and in particular a sitting bench by a pond. I had a good time, and I recommend considering camping here!
