The vibe at Walnut Hollow Camp
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We loved our stay on the ranch! The property is beautiful and well taken care of. Charlie, your host, has tons of information on the nearby areas including hikes, mountain biking and other activities. Our biggest piece of advice would be to make sure not to set up your tent too close to the pond -- we had a bullfrog as our neighbor for the evening! However we WOULD highly recommend going to the Walnut Hollow Ranch store and buying steak and other local goods. Amazing stuff!
Charlie was very accommodating and the ranch is gorgeous. We visited during with a full campground for the eclipse and the sites are nicely spaced from one another making it not feel overcrowded. Most tent sites have a nice shade tree and there are numerous fire rings, tables, etc.
We stayed at Walnut Hollow over the Eclipse weekend. Although we didn't take advantage of the tours and other amenities we had a great time. Charlie was an excellent host and his ranch is pretty awesome. Definitely buy some meat while you are there, it was delicious!
Charlie Kissling and the rest of the friendly people at Walnut Hollow Ranch were perfect hosts during the eclipse weekend. I'm already making plans for a second stay at the ranch, and would absolutely recommend them to anyone, in the Hayesville NC area, looking for a beautiful and relaxing landscape to pitch a tent for a night or more.
