If you were into having fun with the 4WD and wanted somewhere away from the huddle, I would recommend TJ’s. Host was lovely and helpful, I appreciated being in a little more private spot. I did make a smorgasbord for a few bugs but that’s part of the experience haha I’m sure it’s even more stunning when there water is flowing but I was fully aware it was going to be dry. No wifi except for at the office - not a bad thing (that’s not why you camp, right!) but something to be aware of. I was anticipating flushing toilets and a shower but that’s part must have been closer to the main camp area, no complaints. Thanks guys, recommended for possibly more serious campers than me haha 🤭👍

My partner drove from Sydney and arrived on the 30th of December. I was meant to join him on the night of the 31st.
Unfortunately, my partner had to cancel the booking and find another campsite, as there was no potable water available and the river was completely dry. Being so close to New Year’s Eve, everything else was fully booked, which made the situation quite stressful. The showers also caused chlorine staining on his skin, and the only remaining water source was a very small pool of stagnant water.
Overall, my partner mentioned that it is a lovely place, aside from the extreme heat and lack of water, and he would recommend it at another time of the season when the river has water. However, it would have been appreciated if we had been informed of these conditions in advance, so we could have made an informed decision before arriving.
Additionally, the refund was not processed in full, as we were still charged a camping fee.

We booked 4 nights during summer and the river wasn’t there anymore and temp was 37 degrees. Would have been nice to know that before arriving there for new year and 1.5 hours away from phone reception. We got a partial refund for the remainder of the 3 nights. We ended paying $180 for that night. Got a shower full of chlorine and toilets weren’t very nice. It’s a good camping for 4wd but the toilets could be a lot better. TJ has a Starlink antenna that is on and off though. Would have been back during winter if we got a full refund, but didn’t happen. Long drive from Sydney to have to go somewhere else on new year. Wouldn’t recommend.

Great place for camping and pet friendly. Amazing camp-site and location. Plenty of different camp-sites to book. Hideaway Hollow was very private and plenty of space with 2 dogs running around. Definitely recommended and will be going back again.

Overall it was a nice place to stay, the river bed was beautiful and refreshing. Feel a bit misled on the entry to the property, it is approximately 12km on dirt road with large erosion mounds and only single track, do not take a caravan we took ours based on the description and unfortunately now have damage, we were unable to turn around due to tight track so had to commit to going. Otherwise facilities are bare and rough so make sure you are fully self contained and take your own water, fit for purpose of a good 4x4 weekend. Bit over priced for what it is. Flies are horrendous so take plenty of deet and protection for food etc. realistically only suitable for 4x4

We had a great time at TJs ont he October long weekend. Tanya and Jamie were great hosts.
Fabulously kept grounds and toilets & showers were cleaner than we had anticipated!
We had lots of space with minimal neighbours which was fabulous for the kids.
Dirt roads in to the camp were a bit rougher than expected but all our happy campers made it in no fuss - even not being 4wds.
Pizzas being delivered was an awesome additions and the kids loved the buggy rides too!
Quiet place with amazing animal life. River was amazing too!
Great fun over all and we will definitely be back.

Beautiful remote camping spot, the track looks a little scary at first look before doable for most cars! The hosts are super friendly and helpful and everyone we met was lovely!

It is a luxury rustic set up canon. There is all supplied excl. food. Well furnished & cosy.
It is located on the top of the hill, secluded area only for you. The bathroom is separate with a shower (all in good condition). You can have a shower while enjoying the bush view :)
There is a fire place next to the hut and a large outdoor sitter. Very nice.

We loved it here, only stayed one night but it was great. The directions were simple, the roads were a bit bumpy though as it’s a dirt track. Which we did not mind. Plenty of spots available and it’s so quiet and beautiful. Would definitely camp here again!

Cute cabin to stay if you enjoy simple camping style. At least 15m from another camping site which makes it very private. Fun 4W drive road to go to the camping site. We enjoyed the stay!

We loved it here. The owners were welcoming. The camp ground we stayed at was private and peaceful. The 4wd tracks were fun. Even our dog enjoyed his stay!

We had a lot of cars constantly driving through our campsite kicking up dust and dirt, which is a little disappointing because we’d asked to be away from the noise.

What an amazing spot! We love being deep in the Aussie bush and this was just the place! Our 4WD was already at the mechanics getting some upgrades and we took our AWD SUV. We had a great time exploring the property during the day, on the trails we felt game enough for. Our camp spot was so far away from others, we felt like we were the only ones there apart from random car or buggy going past. We loved watching the cars and buggies wind through bits of the bush and walking up and down the river. I was initially worried it would be load during the day due to the buggies and 4WDs but the property is so big, it didn’t impact on our peace and quiet.
It was a long drive in on the dirt road, but now knowing what’s at the end, we will be back when the 4WD is back in action. Amazing spot and our dog loved it too! Thanks for creating this amazing slice of heaven for us all to enjoy!

Amazing !!!! 10/10 We stayed over the long weekend, Wasn't that much water in the creek but still enough for a swim and for the kids to have fun. lots of animals roaming around goannas, wallaby’s, cows , wombats and possums it makes it that much more special! We did all the medium tracks and the kids did a half hour buggy ride they had the time of their lives. The owners Tanya and Jamie were so welcoming and friendly we even had some dinner and a fire with them on our last night at the property, all the other staff were also amazing really helpful with directions and advice highly recommend 👌

The site itself is beautiful and peaceful. The hosts are welcoming and funny.
Plenty of wildlife about.
The only issue is the road up there, it is not for the faint of heart and definitely not for rental 2-wheel drives hahaha. That is my own fault though! If I had a 4wd I would defo return!

I recently visited TJ’s for my first solo camping trip which I was quite nervous about - especially looking silly setting up my site!
Jamie & Wayne met me & my pup Billy on arrival & quickly had me on my way to a beautiful, secluded site where I had privacy to practice setting up at my own pace.
This property has so many choices for people looking to experience the bush camping experience, there are sites to accommodate both solo campers as well as those with larger groups also being pet friendly is a big plus for me.
There are also glamping tents set up throughout the property which are available for those that prefer it & I plan to use one of these at some point too!
Thank you again Tanya, Jamie & Wayne for all of your assistance and making my first time such a positive experience. We will definitely be back again real soon!

Awesome place to camp and get away from life for a while. Although the river was almost dried up the guys dug a dam to provide some water for a dip. They were very accommodating.
The wildlife in our campsite was very friendly with possums, a wombat and a family of goannas.
Would love to stay again with some water in the river

We had a great time however, our stay was ruined by the frequent 4WD traffic near our campsite.
Unfortunately, some drivers were inconsiderate and sped by, causing dust to blow into our area where we had children and dogs. This disrupted the otherwise peaceful setting. We understand that the campsite accommodates 4WD enthusiasts, but it would be great if there were some guidelines in place to encourage drivers to be more mindful of fellow campers. We still enjoyed our time, but this was a bit of a drawback.

Great spot, off the grid no reception which is great to disconnect. Tracks around are good to test the 4x4 on. I think making the main tracks one way would help to avoid passing in dangerous spots possibly if it works. Garbage bins would be a plus and noise limits enforced after 12 midnight.. with kids can be annoying to wake them. Cheers - good time.

Beautiful location for camping, even in a big group. Staff is very friendly, has beautiful wildlife to spot during your stay, and plenty of areas to explore and see the beauty of Australia's nature.
Must note, that although cars can get to the location with a driver who has offroading experience, it is a bumpy and rocky road with some muddy sections that have ruts which is not advised for cars that are low. We had a 1993 Corolla and a 2008 Civic in our group that got us to the camp site, but anything lower than these types of cars are warned that you can get stuck if not careful.

Overall a very pretty and isolated area. Friendly hosts. Keep in mind the noise from dune buggies and motorcycles on weekends where riding is allowed (not annissue for us, might be depending on where you camp).
Unfortunately a lower rating as the first night we had no water at the showers. 2nd night required a drive out to management to get the water and generator going. 3rd night there was no petrol in the generator, so no shower then either. Fixing this would vastly improve the experience

My dog and I had a wonderful stay. The sites give you a great feel of privacy and the hosts are very kind and accommodating. The sites are quiet in the evening, clean and well maintained. Showers are hot and restrooms are clean, though can be a little far depending which site you stay at. Can't recommend it enough, will be back! 5⭐️!
