From the moment we drove up the driveway, the property and our hosts, Patty and Michelle, were unbelievable. The property was sweet with the smells of Spring and slowly the resident animals greeted us with joy and curiosity. We were guided on a tour of the property and every step we took we could feel how special this place truly is. The children were shown how to gather eggs from the nesting hens, allowed to feed treats to the donkeys and goats and joyfully played fetch with Shiloh, one of the pups. As the Sun faded we had s'mores by the fire as the frogs and running water at the creek lulled us. After our fire we slept in the Studio space and not only were the beds comfortable, but the sheets were crisp and clean. The large windows let in the cool night breezes after a warm day and I can honestly say (from living in the city) this was one of the best nights sleep I have had in a long time. In the morning we made breakfast with the toaster oven and were able to keep our food cool in the mini fridge as we headed out to explore more of the property. Patty and Michelle showed us the spring fed pond where they raise Rainbow Trout and where we were given a tour of the old brewery cave by canoe. We then walked the property and were able to see places where we would love to set up a tent on our next visit and shown the gardens, the apiary, the cows and the magical forests that boast beautiful walking trails. I can honestly say, that our entire family cannot wait to return to this place, not only for the amenities and animals but for the hosts, Patty and Michelle.
This was one of the best vacations of my life--and I only drove 20 minutes from my home to experience it! Not only is this a testament to how amazing our stay and hosts were, but it also says something about our region: Houston Co., Minn. Patty and Michelle greeted and treated us like old friends throughout the entirety of our stay. The lodging is wonderful, including super comfortable beds and a short gorgeous walk across the rear porch to the bathroom facilities in the main home. (Watch for Carmella the caramel-colored hen that will say hello to you on the porch!) We met ALL of the friendly animals and spent meaningful time with them, too! This included ducks, chickens, doggies, kitties, goats, sheep, and cattle! They were all introduced to us and our two-year-old daughter was given a safe environment to interact with them. We adored them! We were encouraged to take the canoe into the incredible cave that was formerly used for the brewery. It was sooo fun and perfect on this super hot day. Our daughter was able to tag along and they even provided a small lifejacket in her size! They really did think of everything here and go above and beyond for us. We were sad to leave, yet look forward to return trips--AND sharing this hidden gem with all of our friends!!! Closing: this is not just a place to overnight--it's a place to spend your time soaking in all of the varied farm experiences and opportunities offered by the genuinely kind hosts. THANK YOU!
Bee Relaxed Studio was so wonderful! I could not have asked for a better place to stay. The studio itself is great and has a comfortable bed, coffee maker, toaster, and refrigerator, record player, etc. The farm is beautiful. Patty and Michelle were so warm and friendly and introduced us to the farm's many animals - goats, cows, sheep, bees, chickens, dogs, cats, donkeys, and trout - as well as showing us the grounds and some of the special trees on site. Can't wait to return!
Amazing place. Such warm and generous people with loving animals and incredible hospitality. We absolutely adored meeting all the animals and these two awesome hosts!! Extremely recommend staying here, my only regret is not being able to stay longer!
Bee Relaxed Studios, and the hosts Patty and Michelle, are true gems. The morning we were heading down, they texted me that they were planning to have a bonfire in case we wanted to bring s'mores makings for ourselves and the kids, how thoughtful! When we arrived, Patty and one of their dogs were there to greet us and show us around. They even had the fridge stocked with local beer and pop and freezies for the kids! We watched Patty feed the trout and she answered all my curious four year old's questions about fish and animals and even let him help throw the food in. The studio space is so welcoming and inviting and we felt very comfortable there right away. They do have an air conditioner but we didn't need it because there are so many large windows in the space that let in the nice breeze. Patty took us out into the pasture and introduced us to the donkeys, cows, sheep, dogs, cats, chickens and ducks. Then we made s'mores in the bonfire and on the short walk back to the studio before bed we spotted a whole bunch of fire flies! Our four year old exclaimed "their butts light up, so I guess magic IS REAL after all!" We definitely plan to stay again and are excited to see the tunnel/cave that's only accessible by canoe but on this trip we just ran out of time. We'd also love to stay in winter as I'm sure it'd be a beautiful place to cross country ski or snowshoe. Highly recommend! Thank you so much, Patty and Michelle, and Willow, Shiloh, Bodie, Josie, Mr. Green, Masie and the other cats and critters for all your hospitality.
I couldn't have dreamed up a more magical experience. There are no hosts as kind, generous, and giving as Patty and Michelle. We brought our three little boys to the studio and they played all day long, chasing chickens, following the friendly dogs, playing in water, collecting eggs, meeting the donkeys, hammocking in the trees, resting in morning fog -- it. was. so. magical. We all slept well, enjoyed the afternoon fires, canoe rides, and time together. We learned so much from Patty and Michelle and the way they welcomed us into their beautiful space. We hope to make this an annual tradition and come back for years to come!
