Arrive and immediately relax in this stunning little wilderness cabin with barn, orchard, English country garden, wilderness, Japanese garden, beautiful and pristine trout stream and natural spring with two Japanese bridges behind the cabin. The cabin is true to the real wilderness cabins of old: It doesn't have electricity or running water. You can come and unplug and unwind. Read a good book and go for long walks. Renters have easy access to two beautiful full bathrooms with warm showers only 200 feet from the cabin. At the main house, you can connect to Wi-Fi and plug in to electrical outlets. The cabin easily sleeps three with room for more if anyone is willing to sleep on a mattress on the floor. It's like luxurious camping! The cabin has a large cooler to keep food (you bring the ice!), a gas grille on the porch for cooking and even an antique claw-foot tub on the porch if you want to take a bath outdoors! (There is a gas heater for the water right next to the tub.) This cabin offers a relaxing and interesting experience for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. It sits in the middle of the Manistee National Forest with plenty of bird song and sounds of nature to lull you into a relaxed mood.

Rob was an excellent and extremely generous host. He was helpful, friendly, communicative, interesting, respectful... All the best things in a host! The cabin was super charming, with everything you could need, and the grounds were simply incredible. The care that Rob has put into the design of this whole place made it feel like a wonderland, giving it almost a magical quality. When heading to the middle of the woods in Michigan, we expected to appreciate the natural beauty we would find (and we did that too). However, we could not have anticipated finding ourselves in such a carefully engineered, aesthetically alluring, and pragmatically-designed space. We most highly recommend experiencing this place for yourself, and we definitely want to return!
Pics coming soon! OMG! This place is far more amazing than you would ever expect. Like staying in an art retreat with one beautiful surprise after another-EVERY sense is filled with beauty here. And the host is the icing on the cake-he is a fabulous companion OR can be a friendly ghost, depending on your needs. What a wonderful, wonderful, treasure.
Nature, art, magic. sigh.
This place deserves its own zip code. It's unlike any place on earth. Much much more than I expected in every way: beauty, peacefulness, lodging, bathrooms, hospitality, inspiration, fun and joy. Oozing with creativity and inspiration, I could barely sleep at night because I wanted to continue to meander and walk the grounds of this sanctuary. I refuse to divulge any other details because some things you just have to experience yourself. 2 days is not enough time though; book for 4-5 for complete relaxation experience in nature and you will thank me later.
We had such an amazing time staying with Rob out at his beautiful property. The cabin blew us away; it's impeccably decorated and cozy. Rob was such a fantastic host! He made sure we had everything we could need and made us feel right at home. It was so fun to see the happy pampered hens right outside the cabin door, and the backyard of the cabin is beautifully landscaped and maintained. The giant english garden in front of the cabin was in full bloom and it was fun watching all the bees and the butterflies pollinating all the flowers.
We can't recommend this amazing glamping stay enough!
Home away from home
This place is fantastic. There is no better way to connect with nature and free your mind of everyday struggles! The host was absolutely fantastic, so friendly. This was my first time here - but definitely not my last!!!
This place will blow your mind with how beautiful it is! The property is full of pleasant surprises from the Japanese garden to the chickens roaming around. Rob is a wonderful host as well! Just be sure to bring plenty of insect repellent.
