Tyungun Country Retreat

Private site with large open space. Swimming hole (too cold for us in August) but the dogs enjoyed a dip after a walk up the hill. Well maintained site and fire pit provided. Bryce was welcoming and friendly, and had been very accommodating with our previous booking attempts. A great spot for bird watchers too.

Beautiful campsite! Very spacious and private. Pine trees behind campsite are very pretty, with flowing river on the side and a deeper swimming hole. Some curious visitors coming to say hello in the afternoon as well. Our dog had the best time! Would definitely visit again 🌲

This camp site ticks all our boxes. Bryce is so accommodating. The scenery is majestic. The wildlife is next level, we even saw a couple of platypus in the river. The dogs loved the site. The stars at night are breathtaking.

So far this is my favourite site I have stayed at on hicamp although a little expensive for just two people this site is huge and if splitting between a group there is room for everyone!!

Camping at such a beautiful spot was a treat, we got the fire wood packed and appreciated the extra top up for a cold night ahead, easy to get to being close to the road and close to Canungra town if need some extra supplies or a lovely coffee at the one of the cafes

We had a great couple of days staying on Bryce’s property. We towed our camper trailer into the Silky Oak site without any problems. The site was beautiful and clean with the lovely Flying Fox creek as a boundary and backdrop. Our two border collies slept well each night after a full day of running around and exploring. We plan on returning in the future and would recommend it.

Twin Pines site was the most amazing place to relax for a few days. Even with a lot of wind and periodic rain, it was nestled perfectly behind the hill to protect us and the running creek offered relaxed morning coffee views and late night fish hunting with torches. We booked for an easy place to hot air balloon and then see places in mount tamborine, but we’ll be going back with the kids and our families. Bryce was super communicative and is a wonderful host.

I couldn't recommend this campsite enough, it was absolutely perfect. Now it's very simple, no amenities or hot water etc. But it's absolutely perfect to escape for the weekend and be a boy in the wild again. It has a nice little creek running along side it, a fire pit and lots of surrounding nature. I was lucky enough to stay here on my own with my dog, such a peaceful time. The firewood supplied was plentiful and the instructions were very clear on how to get to the campsites etc. The host allows you to walk your dog off leash all over his 350 acre cattle farm. This includes multiple swimming holes, woodlands, hills, grass lands, wallabies, turtles... You name it, it has everything. It took me approximately 5 hours to walk the parameter and I still didn't see all of it. Just make sure to put the dog on the lead if you are near cattle, especially if there are calfs around. The host couldn't be more helpful. Whenever I messaged him for help or advice he replied within the hour and always with useful information. Even before booking a spot he was able to advise me on which of his 4 campsites to pick. I will definitely be back here, I had the best time over the weekend disconnecting from the stresses of life. If you want a place to stay and make it worth while for your dog then this is the place to go. Leave your phone in the swag and go on a adventure through the wild! 🙂 Thank you Bryce for your humble hospitality!

Beautiful country property. Very well set out for Hipcamp. Camping right near the flowing creek. Cows stroll through to say Hi during the day. We towed a 22” caravan which was very easy to set up and accessible off Flying Fox Road. 10 minutes to Canungra Main Street, which is very helpful if you require RACQ for a flat car battery 🤦🏻 We will definitely be back there again some day. Lovely little spot by the creek. Easy to find. Not far from road but still felt quiet and peaceful. The dog loved roaming around and we enjoyed swimming in the creek even in winter. Nice enclosed fire pit. Bring extra fire wood in winter, we needed to grab more from the lovely little town nearby because the campsite is quite shady so not getting the heat from the sun. Beaut site all to yourself. Would def book again.

Just stayed a night, its close to the city of Gold Coast, private, quiet, tranquil. Furthermore Bryce was highly accommodating, considering the best spot for me, I was testing a new setup and didn't have a lighter, or the right gas fittings, Byrce comes down with a box of matches, prepared to get me a hotplate for the fire. I was looked after and appreciate that. Great spot and hospitality, a quick skip from the GC. Highly recommended.
