Your Toccoa River Fish Trap is a secluded private gated 4 acre gently laying parcel with end of the road privacy, hidden away only a few miles from Blue Ridge Georgia! Fantastic location yet very private for base camp to access the many activities in this area, or enjoy the Toccoa River. The property is ideal for RV, travel trailer, car or tent camping and is walking distance from the Toccoa River, a world class trout fishing river! This camp site has on site city water and electrical hookups. Use of the community lot at the river is included in your rental! The community lot on the Toccoa River is right where the Cherokee Indians traditionally made rock fish traps for food.
This lot easily accommodate RV or trailer camping, or a group with tents. Lot 4 has a picnic table, a fire pit, a National Park style charcoal grill, and a nice outhouse. Bring your own firewood. Easy road access- no steep grades.
This camp site has RV hookups- city water, ample electrical power (50 amp/30amp/20 amp plugs) and a yard light. No septic or black water dump station.
Just to the right of the Lot 4 gate is a woods road (the old Indian Trail to the fish traps) leading directly to the community lot on the River, located at 49 Gibbs Drive. This provides easy walking access to the Toccoa River at the community lot which has a charcoal grill, picnic table, boat launch, swimming rock and fire pit with chairs. The river is controlled flow and usually at low water from dawn to about 2 pm, ideal for fishing or swimming/wading/boulder bopping. The River release schedule is available online. The River has swift current when the dam is opened for release, usually daily.
This property is conveniently located at 400 Wagon Tracks Ridge, Mineral Bluff, Georgia 30559, just 4 miles off the main 4-lane highway (Highway 515/76) and just a short drive to Blue Ridge, Georgia; Blairsville, Georgia; Murphy, Tennessee; and Copper Hill, Tennessee. George was a wonderful and extremely accommodating host. He was responsive to any and all requests for directions and information. The site itself was great. George provides firewood that is covered in case of rain and an immaculate outhouse. It's obvious that he dedicates time to making sure visitors have a great place to camp. He even brought us bolt cutters to help out when a friend chained my cooler to a tree and lost the key.
I highly recommend the site itself and George as a host.
