The best of both worlds, really; a terrestrial and aquatic oasis, by ever connotation of those words. Lake Conasauga is a beguiling, preprocessing spring-filled lake that envelops nearly twenty-acres of the nearby enigmatic Grassy Mountain. Georgias highest elevation lake, the area is inundated by wildlife, especially songbirds. In fact, when camping in the lake’s wind-swept confines, you’ll be within walking-distance of one of Georgia’s Songbird Management areas! This is one of my go-to areas for a quick weekend of camping; a quick drive up from Atlanta!

Nice little campground that is not crowded due to the long drive on gravel roads to get to it. Stay at the overflow campground in the off season for even more seclusion.
