Most of this park consists of water and coral reefs. Boat rides can be purchased to take you out to the reefs for snorkeling. It also has two lovely beaches for swimming and mangrove canals for paddling.

This is a wonderful campground. We stated 2 nights and had an amazing experience from the moment we pulled in until the moment we left. We took a snorkel tour right from the park and saw tons of fish (a lot of barracuda!), coral, and even a spotted ray. Full hook-ups and very clean restrooms / showers.

Some beautiful beach art we found during sunset at the beach next to the campground. Sitting at a picnic table at Pennekamp. Enjoying the sunshine and laid-back vibes. Sunset at Pennekamp's Cannon BeachTook a 2-hour snorkel tour, and saw SO many amazing coral and fish. Our boat captain and first mate were very energetic and informative. A must-do if visiting John Pennekamp
