Description

Fort Sherman and Cherokee Trace are the park’s two loops of RV campsites, 63 spots in total. They are very clean and serene sites that have everything that your rig needs: water, 30 amp electricity, fire pit, picnic table, and lantern hooks. For the most part they are spacious, wooded, and flat, though some of them have quite a slope. They’re all also fairly close to the lake itself, some even backing up to the lake’s edge. Don’t go cannonballing in, though, because this stretch of shoreline is about the only thing at Lake Bob that isn’t accommodating and tree stumps abound near the surface. The nearby State Park Cove is much less stump-y and a good spot to put in a boat. The Moccasin Track and Broken Bow camping areas lie on two adjacent, densely wooded loops. Like we said before, Lake Bob (unlike creepy Uncle Bob) is nothing if not friendly and accommodating, and these sites reflect that: water, electric, fire pit, lantern hooks, and picnic tables (some under shelter) are all included. For a little extra cash, you can upgrade to a screened shelter or even all the way up to a cottage with A/C and bunk beds. Supposedly, the incredibly helpful rangers will even bring you free firewood, though a donation is suggested. Lake Bob is always looking out for you; you’re still on your own with Uncle Bob.
