Come out and enjoy seclusion, peace and quiet, awesome scenery with sunrises and sunsets to die for. All while still being able to easily take advantage of the area's other attractions.

Awesome desert location, Jeff met us when we arrived and explained everything, the stars shown bright, and in the morning the solar hot water shower was outstanding! I’d definitely stay here again.
Jeff’s land is a hidden gem. The property is so big that you feel totally secluded. The bathrooms were clean and star gazing those dark west Texas skies while taking a hot shower was an experience all in its self. Our kiddos ran around barefoot and wild and would have rather spent all their time there than in BBNP. It was our second time to stay at the GPs and we’ll definitely be back!
My 3 rd visit to Goat Pens. Can't say I was disappointed at all. I was able to get away from the city and enjoy the peace and quiet that the campground had to offer.
Goat Pens is the best. Great showers, bathrooms. Proximity to town but also far enough out to be private and beautiful.

Jeff’s instructions were clear and accurate and we were able to find our way and get set up without any problems. The showers and toilets were clean as well.

My multi night stay at the goat pens was exactly what I was looking for. We were looking for a quiet place for primitive tent camping with bathrooms and showers near town and big bend. Jeff the host was very informative and polite and it was a pleasure meeting and speaking to him. We saw a coyote and some magniciant stars during our stay while enjoying the solitude. The road into and around the place is doable for most vehicles but a high clearance or good suspension would be recommended.
This was a beautiful place to camp. Sites were not on top of each other, so there was a nice sense of privacy. It was easy to find and communication with Jeff was great.
Camping on the desert with coyotes!
Very exciting to camp out on a desert! It's dispersed camping with campfire stones to mark the sites. Lots of space for each. Property gate opens by code, which is very convenient. Toilets are well maintained and have water and sinks to wash hands. Showers have warm water. Gas station and grocery store (and cell phone reception) are just 10 minutes away Jeff was very welcoming.
We could hear coyotes and wild donkeys at night, which was really cool!
