Morning Light Mountain Lodge is our 5.7 acre dream come true on the side of Round Mountain in the Ouachita Mountains. We have several beautiful hiking trails and two breathtaking vistas at which to gaze at the picturesque mountains in the distance. “Meandering Trail” takes you to where the property borders the gigantic Ouachita National Forest. Keep going if you please. It’s 1.8 Million acres of wilderness made just for you! A true hunters paradise teeming with deer and other wildlife. The national forest is also accessible via Roger’s Pass and an easement. Bring your ATVs!If you like spectacular sunrises then this is the place for you. Just pray you have enough disk space on your camera! The Legendary Talimena Byway is just a few miles down the road; a 54 mile winding wonderland across the backs of the mighty Winding Stair and Ridge Mountains with dozens of pull-offs and vistas that are a feast for the senses. Plenty of Ouachita’s endless hiking trails can be accessed from the byway. Kayaking the incredible Kiamichi river can also be on your agenda. Check out paddlers websites and forums for details and ideal entry points. Anyone like fishing? Oklahoma’s premier Bass fishing lake, Cedar Lake is a short 20 minute drive. Just wait till you see this lake; the happy little lake you’d expect in a Bob Ross masterpiece. Morning Light Mountain Lodge is a beautiful and wild place with plenty to keep you busy enjoying God’s Creation. Weekend Trip to Eagle's Nest LODGE, OK
Probably the coolest thing about Eagles nest is the view. There is an open deck and a covered deck for all weather. The cabin has all of the amenities with the exception of Wi-fi, though the Cell reception is excellent. The keyword here is “rustic.” It is a log cabin on a gorgeous hillside overlooking Lake Sardis. we had a great stay and would definitely go back. The wildflowers were blooming, and the butterflies were flying.

We really enjoyed the view from the porch and the night sky! We did bring an ez-up, which gave us a place to hang out during the rain—the porch is obviously quite small. It was a short weekend, but it was the quiet, private place we were looking for!

The cabin has a lot of character and neat decor. It was really nice to have 1.5 bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a washer and dryer! The back patio is nice and large, which was great since it rained a bit each day we stayed. My family and I spent the majority of our days out there. When we weren’t relaxing on the patio, we went on adventures all over the beautiful and well maintained property. There is a nice pavilion, a pond, and plenty of trails to explore. Thank you Miranda for a lovely weekend getaway!!!

Great spot for a weekend getaway. The cabin has everything you'd need from cooking oil to utensils. You can stop at the grocery store, grab some food and head down and not need anything else to have a great time.

DO NOT use 'HipCamp" for any camping reservations!
The site says at the footer "Not instantly boom able on HipCamp. First come first serve."
We read that as no reservations available, first come first serve.
After driving for a day, arriving, setting up camp we were kicked off our lot and told it was reserved and paid for months ago.
The office says this site is not related to theirs, if they can not assist in booking then they should not list it.
Thanks for screwing up my trip HipCamp!
