The hipcamp spots are separate from the RV park meaning you will get a quiet night with lots of privacy. The park is located just minutes from the interstate. Perfect for someone in transit and not looking for a longer stay.

I enjoyed my stay there. I think it's good for saving money if you just need a safe place to pitch your tent and aren't really going to hang out much at the campsite. It is a scenic livestock farm out in the northern Mississippi hill country. Dogs bark and roosters crow so it's a good idea to have ear plugs.

Arkansas’s newest state park is a feast for the senses. Where else can you find America’s longest and most historic river, the cold and refreshing Bear Creek Lake, a plethora of native wildflowers, and a beautiful campground nestled in a hardwood forest with spectacular views? Nowhere but the enchanting Mississippi River State Park. The park is on the Audubon Great River Birding trail and will inspire you with glimpses of unusual water birds, songbirds, and raptors. Gators, otter, fox, deer, and beaver are also common. If you’ve got some vacation time to use up, we encourage you to hitch up your boat and head out to Mississippi River State Park.

Stayed at Lone Pine over the Fourth of July weekend, and we were the only ones on the campground. While the other side of the lake has a number of people living in RVs and cabins, almost no one seemed interested in the primitive sites on our side. We were able to walk to numerous fishing spots with the minnows we purchased at the park's welcome center. Looking forward to staying at Lone Pine again this summer.
