The Property: Located north of Cookeville in the rolling hills and farmland, our property is on Spring Creek, a state scenic river. Situated between two waterfalls and featuring over half a mile of river frontage to explore. Float, fish and relax listening to the cascading water. Perfect for bird watchers- blue and green herons, ospreys, hawks, bald eagles and more. You may spot the creek critters- minks, beavers, and otters. Various types of bass, craw dad's and minnows are in the creek. We operate similar to a state park. We are open to the public from 10am-7pm, peak season. We have other listings that are spaced so each of our guests has privacy. Please see aerial photo for an overview. We sometimes have small events (birthday parties, ect) at the pavilion. Please feel free to message us first, if you would like to see if there are any events during your stay. There are 2 restrooms centrally located at the pavilion. One bathroom has a shower with hot water, soap, shampoo/conditioner included. The restrooms are shared with our other listings. There are USB and regular outlets in the pavilion and WiFi. During warm season the outdoor kitchen is available as well. We also rent out a Suite which is located above the pavilion. Quiet hours are 10pm-8am. Pets are welcome as long as they are leashed and picked up after. Please note there is a gun range 2 hollers away and depending on the season, it can be heard from our property. Tent in the Trees Listing: Your tent site is built above the trail and overlooking the creek. The tent is equipped with a queen bed, linens, extra blankets & essential cooking gear. There is a fire pit with grill and griddles for cooking over wood or charcoal. Really, all you need is clothes, food and drink! Primitive Camp Site: The rustic camp site is DIY. It is 300' from pavilion, and 600' from Tent in the Trees. We provide a picnic table and fire pit You bring all the rest of your gear. Typically, you may park next to your campsite. No RV's, converted vans are permitted. If you have a very small camper, please message us to see if we can accommodate. There are no hookups, and no loud generators allowed. This ecological art project is recruiting visitors to camp on scenic prairies, on woodland rim sites, or at delicate campsites located along a system of woodland trails. As of 2026, Beardsnest provides a glimpse into the 5th year of succession, which is characterized by spacious views of a gently rolling young prairie that is flanked by the rocky and steep slopes of a mature forest. Pet friendly and a good fit for self-sufficient types that prefer quiet camping over dense layouts, but still want to get into to the park quickly (~6.2 miles to Visitors Center) or travel into Cave City (3 mi) for a greater variety of food, drink, and other cave experiences. Expand from campsites into a sketch-work of prairie and woodland trails featuring characteristic karst elements of topography. Visitor support allow us to plant trees (~530 seedlings as of March 2026), establish native grasses and flowers, restore wetlands, create trails, and remove invasive species. In our opinion, the essential Mammoth Cave NP experience should have 3 basic layers: 1) the underworld (cave tours), 2) upper world (hiking), and critically, the flow of water that connects the two (Green River). Mammoth Cave is unique in the way that a study of the underworld will repeatedly draw the mind into a creative space where we imagine what is beneath the surface and how these worlds are linked, while above ground hiking on land or kayaking on the rich and biodiverse Green River. There is more here than can be digested in a lifetime of observation, but examining in orbits of the 3 layers will provide a foundation of intuition and understanding. Floating the Green River is like leaving developed reality and dropping into pure nature. We offer kayak trips and guided tours that leave from camp, tailored to your schedule. Thanks to our visitors for supporting this type of project! Commonly requested extras: 1. Dried and split firewood bundles, usually a mix of oak with a suggested donation of $6/bundle, delivered to the campsite. 2. Our full hook up campsite is on a working, 17 acre farm. We have horses, chickens, peacocks, guineas and goats, so we ask that all dogs are kept on a leash. We also have Penelope the Pig and Jules, our dairy cow. We are near Drakes Creek, which is great for fishing and kayaking. Kenny Perry Golf Course is minutes away. We are north of Nashville, TN and South of Bowling Green, KY. We have farm fresh eggs and firewood for sale, if needed.

We had an excellent stay at Aaron's Hipcamp property, Cornfield by the Lake! We stayed at Site 2, and it was the perfect weekend getaway. The lake was incredibly refreshing, especially on a the hot days, and the star watching at night was absolutely amazing. Our dogs had the best time exploring and enjoying the open space. Everything was peaceful, well-kept, and exactly what we were looking for. We had a 10/10 experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing camping trip especially with pups!

Our stay at Beardsnest was fabulous. Kevin was a great host, even going out of his way to help close a window on our mini camper while we were out and it started to rain! His three dogs are friendly as well. With the woods right next to our site, we were serenaded by a variety of birds each morning. Wonderful!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an amazing stay at Big Rivers Land Camping! The hosts were incredibly friendly, responsive, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The campsite was spacious and just a short walk to the water, which was one of our favorite parts of the trip. The property is absolutely beautiful, and we loved hearing the farm animals throughout our stay—it made the experience feel so peaceful and unique. The hosts even invited us to meet the animals, and they showed us how to milk a goat! It was such a fun and memorable experience. They also have a huge covered sand play area, which ended up being perfect when it rained a couple of times. It gave everyone a place to keep playing and enjoying the outdoors despite the weather. If you’re looking for a relaxing camping spot with beautiful scenery, welcoming hosts, fun farm experiences, and family-friendly amenities, I highly recommend Big Rivers Land Camping. We can’t wait to come back!

Unhitched North was a pleasant stay north of Nashville. It is a small tidy campground. All sites are easy walk to the dog park, pool and showers. Elizabeth the host is nice and helpful. She answered questions quickly. Multiple staff offered help and checked we were having a pleasant stay.

Great spot! There are three camp sites adjacent to a creek running next to a field. The road isn’t super far away, but it’s not a busy road. Creek access is a little steep, but they’ve put in rope hand-holds to assist. The farm dogs are great and did well with both my 2yo daughter and lab puppy. Surprisingly not that buggy for late June in TN. Host is wonderful. Site 3 is the most private (1&2 are fairly close, both closer to the road). Primitive sites- no toilet or water (other than the creek). Not much around but there’s a gas station not too far away that sells decent Hunt’s pizza, wood, and other supplies.

Beautiful site! The creek is gorgeous with abundant wild life, we saw many fish, frogs, crawfish, turtles and even a blue heron. Two owls were hooting back and forth throughout our stay, and the site is so secluded and quiet you could hear them echo. The kayaks Scott has for rent are great too, going upstream from the site was a nice smooth ride. The site is great for kids, we have three kids 4 and under and the site is so secluded and the creek was just far enough away to give peace of mind. The road to the site is BUMPY, though. Definitely don't underestimate it. Scott was a great host, and had firewood and fresh eggs waiting for us when we got there. We'll definitely be back! Thank you, Scott!

We tent camped for 6 nights at site 1 with 3 dogs and we enjoyed every bit of our stay! Sites were very secluded and our dogs enjoyed every bit of off leash roaming. We were able to walk to the lake (located at site 2) and throw lines in but it may be a little difficult to navigate for those with mobility issues. Aaron had firewood for sale at the barn in the front of the camp entrance and we had no issues with anything. It was a little difficult to drive to site 2 when we first arrived due to slick spots from rain but when it dried it was much more accessible. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and would def recommend if you are looking for seclusion as well as space for your dogs to free roam.
