Welcome to Molalla Ripple! Enjoy the sound of the Molalla River rolling over the rocks. Wake up to birds chirping and tall trees swaying in the breeze. The campsites are sixty feet apart for privacy, and one path leads to the river with two private beach areas to relax. NOTE, Please use the clean bathrooms provided. DO NOT USE THE WOODS or camp site as your bathroom. Thank you, let's keep things clean and safe for others to enjoy! We are forced to require our guests to pay a cleaning fee that's refundable after your stay. Please add the extra to your booking. We have tried to work with our guests to offer trash service, yet campers leave more than we can handle or clean before our next guest arrives. This is our home and property that we want to share, so let us work together to keep it clean and safe. Thank you from the Toops Family Jsm Ranch started in 2004 when we moved from Oregon City. This once was a working farm with two chicken barns and a meat locker barn. All had been fallen into disrepair before taking owner ship. In 2007 we planted 200 trees and 100 shrubs to build a new fish and wildlife habitat along Woodcock Creek. We then focused on building fence along the Molalla River to protect water quality. From there, we started raising Black Angus in 2008 after spending four years cleaning up the fields to make it safe for animals. We strive to be good stewards with our land as we continue to work with Clackamas Soil and Water to make better working lands. You're only minutes away from the town of Molalla to grab a bite, groceries or other camp items. Also have Molalla Rodeo just 3 minutes away on Splat Action Paintball is just five minutes away. Open all year. -March 21 – April 27, 2025 Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival Camp with us while you visit. Just twenty minutes away or thirteen miles. -July 1-4th. The Molalla train park! You won't be disappointed for a great breakfast at Tammy D's (Mulino, OR), sandwiches at Humble Pig or pizza at Bear Creek Pizza & Pub.

Welcome to our small group Site. Craving family time and need a break? We have room to spread out and enjoy one another while camping along the Molalla River in Sites two and three. This group site is 100' away from other camp sites. But just feet from the River shack. A reservation at our group space, River Rock, allows for 15 people. Additional guests, up to a maximum of twenty, are welcomed for an added fee of $8 to cover insurance expenses for everyone's safety.  Our group area has room for ten tents and a couple of van campers or teardrop trailers. We provide picnic tables in the group area and one along the river's edge. Have a campfire in camp or the one along the river with our two fire rings. Need to do some work while camping We have you covered with our free Wi-Fi on the river. Wake up to birds chirping and trees swaying in the breeze. Stroll along two scenic paths to enjoy the sounds of the river and see hawks or perhaps a bald eagle soaring in the sky.  Check out the working farm with grass-fed cows, chickens, ducks, goats and sheep. We also have treats for the animals so little ones can enjoy our animals.  Enjoy a crackling campfire with the stars above and make lasting memories!  Need a smaller campsite, look up Molalla Ripple. Hip Camp will send out an email with all our info once you book your stay. . Our rates change with the seasons. We look forward to having you stay with us. Welcome to the River Shack, have a family or work gathering coming up we can help. When you book the River Shack, you are booking the entire campground. All sites 1-8 along the Molalla River with 2500' of river frontage to explore. While on 25 acres. With the River flowing along the west side of your campsite and the working farm on your Eastside. Perfect spot to watch Sunrises and Amazing Sunsets. Each tent campsite has room for two cars with an overflow just feet away. This booking is for the entire campground. You are booking all eight tent sites and one three-acre pasture. If a guest has an RV they are welcome to park in Pasture for easy in and out access. The tent site will not accommodate big RV's The pasture comes with its own fire ring and picnic tables. Fully fenced if pups need to run. NOTE, Please use the clean bathrooms provided. Clean site although ours was filled with Hay which was not expected... Responsive owner. Nice and private space which was perfect. I could hear the highway just a bit but wasn’t too bothersome. The closest porta-potty to us was pretty gnarly and didn’t have any hand sanitizer/soap in there which I don’t love.

Spent two days at the campsite and had a wonderful time. Scenery was beautiful and I thought the campsites were spread apart far enough that nobody was in each other's way. You're right on the river which is nice. Staff was very hands off yet acknowledged messages rather quickly and got back to you very fast. We ended up going with the hot tub the second night and it's not something you would regret it's well worth spending the money. Would definitely recommend this place to other campers.

The sites were clean and well-maintained. The firepit and picnic tables were great. It was very relaxing with the sounds of the river. We saw a beaver swimming across the river and a bald eagle flew over us. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot.

While my trip fell through, and I wasn't able to stay, Sam the host was wonderful. I had a lot come up all at onc while inwas planning this trip, so I had a lot of questions for him, and he always answered promptly, and helpfully. I will definitely be back to try to stay here again!

The host is so kind and accommodating when requesting add-ons, and the proximity to the water was a nice touch. There were also plenty of amenities that we appreciated. This is a great spot for groups who don’t need privacy, but it wasn’t a great fit for us because of that reason. The main pathway for everyone to walk on goes through each spot (unless you are the first or last spot), so we had people passing within a few feet of us the entire time. There were multiple off-leash dogs coming into our campsite and the porta-potty was next to our site (#5) so we heard the door slamming non-stop and through the night. There was also music playing for almost 6 hours straight from other campers and on another property. Maybe the music was related to the holiday weekend, but regardless, you are close enough to each other to hear these things and see each other. These things would have been nice to know and although it wasn’t a great fit for us, it could be nice for those who want to socialize and want more of a party vibe.

Host was super friendly and the sites were well maintained. It was a little rainy the weekend we came out and our host brought us some hay to lay out to help keep things from getting too sloppy. Super easy to find the campsite and fun to walk around the property and river close by

My stay was very enjoyable. Very clean camping sites, with the peaceful surroundings allowed my wife and i to relax on a safe camping trip. The security gate was comforting, and the tables provided were a very pleasant surprise. It was really nice being right on the river, and the trees giving shade were perfect.

This was a great location to try out our new gear setup. Very easy to enter and access with great communication and instructions. Our site was perfectly situated right next to the river and we enjoyed a relaxing stay for the night. Conveniently located close to Portland for a quick escape. Would definitely return.

This property was beautiful!! We stayed on site 7. It was really nice being so close to the river. The wild life is stunning as well; we saw eagles, hawks, jays, chipmunks, western squirrels. The host, James, was very welcoming and hospitable! Will definitely be returning. The campsites are close together, but you still have a sense of privacy w the trees and bushes separating sites.

We enjoyed our time at Molalla Ripple site 6 and are looking forward to returning. We arrived about 2 o’clock with our small teardrop trailer on a mid-May Friday to an empty campground. Site 6 has a somewhat short depth but we were able to turn our teardrop diagonally to have a nice distance from the fire cooking pit and a great river view. The grounds are clean and well cared for with several amenities. The hosts Sam and Jim were helpful, quick to respond, and friendly but also left us our privacy. We did find some walking paths around the property after talking with Sam. The campground ended up full by Saturday night but remained fairly quiet. Our highlight was the variety of birds. We were so fascinated we downloaded a bird sounds app while we were there and we ended up not playing our typical card games because we were busy with binoculars and the app and bird identification.

James is a great host. I felt very safe camping there. The property is behind a gate with an access code. So only other people camping there have access to your site. Sites 5, 6 and 8 were my favorites. Fire ring is great and the wood that is available for purchase is excellent.

We really enjoyed our stay and found James to be easy going and diligent about keeping everything well maintained. Camping alongside the river was really peaceful- we saw eagles, kingfishers, and some Canada geese with their new goslings. Great stay.

Absolutely beautiful camp site. It was quiet and restful. Host did a wonderful job providing firewood for us. Our dogs were happy! We didn’t have a path to the water but were listening to the river throughout our stay.

Second Stay – Still a Hidden Gem on

This is our second time staying here, and once again, it did not disappoint. You won’t find a better riverside campsite at this price anywhere in the region. We stayed right next to the beautiful, flowing Molalla River—our site came with power hookups and WiFi, which is a rare bonus for a site this close to nature. James, the owner, clearly takes pride in maintaining the campground. The porta-potties were clean and regularly serviced, and the entire area felt safe and well cared for. He’s even built a covered common area deck, which was a great spot to relax or socialize with other campers. Each site has its own fire pit and river access, making it a perfect place to unwind. And if you’re looking to treat yourself, James also offers heated soaking tubs for an additional fee—a perfect way to end the day. We’ll definitely be back again.

Best place!!!!! Quiet, perfect views, riverfront. Clean. Water, bathrooms, showers, even hot tub if desired. Our 1st hipcamp and now we’re hooked. 🤩🤩🤩 Loved that it’s so easy to book. Public park campgrounds are booked for the year. Hipcamps seem so safe and well kept.

We booked here same day after finding out the state park campground was closed. Site 1 requires good backing skills for a van (vehicle length is noted on site info), is private, but no views of the river. Big enough for a tent and a van. There is a bit of road noise but not too bad. It quiets down after hours. In hindsight, I’d go with site 4 or 7 for the views. Port a pottie was clean and solar lights were very helpful at night. We didn’t use the shower. We really enjoyed seeing and hearing the cattle and horses (across the river). James was a very accommodating host.
