Sitting on the 5-acre Viking Longhall campground, the site contains some quite unusual unique buildings the yurt, a 16' Viking wedge tent, two small cottage buildings, a screened in bar, a medieval war wagon and the 60-foot Longhall all surrounded by a creek on three sides giving it a very private secluded feel.
The area boasts many activities including hiking, canoeing, wildlife watching, star gazing, biking or touring the Adena cultural sites or shoping in the Amish stores.
The yurt campsite is very spacious with its own fire ring and canopied dining area.cooking can be done on the fire or a 5 ring grill. All bedding is supplied along with pots, pans, eating utensils, plates, cups, towels, many candles, lamps. Our family had a great time at David's Viking Yurt! While our weekend started out rainy, we stayed nice and dry inside the yurt and had a great time creeking at the camp and enjoying the amenities. We spent Saturday exploring historic sites nearby (like Serpent Mound) and after the rain let up, really enjoyed the campsite. David was so nice and checked on us to see if we needed anything. Hot coffee in the morning, plenty of candles in the evening to create a fun atmosphere. We really enjoyed our fun camping trip!

Super cool, totally remote (no signal, no electricity!), little spot of land. The camps/cabins are so cool! We jumped in the creek, threw axes, played boardgames, cooked dinner on the fire, drank wine from the viking horn glasses, and woke up to fresh coffee in the morning! If you need to escape and feel like a viking, come here!
A fabulous and unique experience we will never forget. Nature at it's finest in a completely off the grid area with everything you need including a wonderful and knowledgeable host, David that brought us coffee and great conversation in the morning.
Staying at the Yurt on David’s property was simply magical! He is a wonderful host, evening bringing hot coffee in the mornings and lighting a fire for light in the evenings. Would stay here again and again!
Such a special place! Great for a family. Our kiddo loved exploring the grounds and the sleepover in the Yurt. The whole space is truly spectacular with everything you need for a nice time. Love the hosts- they put so much love and care into the property. Helpful without being intrusive. Will absolutely return!
The Viking Longhall Campground is so incredibly beautiful & peaceful. The yurt site feels private with its own firepit & grilling area. The hosts are super friendly & fun to talk with. We'll definitely be back!
Dave was the best host! He told us we only needed clothes and food and he was right. He had flashlights, bug spray, cleaning wipes, dishes, towels, and anything else we could need. Our little girls had a blast swinging in the hammock, running around in the creek, and making s’mores.
