Grandfather Mountain Campground

Home to one of the most significant peaks on the East Coast, Grandfather Mountain State Park is a Carolina must-do. At this staple of the Blue Ridge, towering nearly a mile in the clouds, you will find yourself in a wonderland of alpine vistas and cascading streams. Don’t forget all the essentials as it will be full on primitive to the core. This trail may not be for beginners as the 12 miles of ridgeline hiking is rated challenging.
