Nice spot on the lake in between 2 other properties. Beautiful view to west.

Nice site on Butternut Lake! Great firepit and views of a quiet cove on the lake. Plenty of room for the dogs to play and hang out. I wish it had a dock as fishing from the shore was pretty much impossible with all of the lilly pads. We did not use the porta potty since we are self-contained and didn't need it. There is some firewood available but you will need an axe or a splitting maul. I split some but found a great place on the way to the site in Park Falls that sells bulk firewood. We would definitely come back again, I would give it 5 stars if it had a dock and would certainly pay more.

Beautiful place on the lake. Host was very accommodating with our stay incoming storms had us coming in late and staying an extra day. There is a lot of wood but bring a way to split it. The fire pit was huge never used it but was nice as an option. Watching the ducks and lions in the morning and evening was so nice.

Would be better advertised as a group site. Luckily our family reserved all 4? Sites,(more like 1 big site, with one big fire pit. Wouldn't want to stay here if other sites were reserved by someone you didn't know. Way to close. The "outhouse " aka one of the nastiest chemical Porta Patty's I've ever seen. Wasn't usable. Needs serious maintenance.
A dock.... a clean potty....... and group site advertisements. Would be great improvements.
Then I'd give it a thumbs up.

Good 4th weekend with family. Fortunately we reserved all 4? Sites. Would be better advertised as a group site. Otherwise you may end up with very close neighbors. Also you will have to share the one firepit. And 2 tables.
The bathroom provided,( a chemical toilet.)does not appear to ever get serviced. Appeared to be almost full and very disgusting.
Not to mention the overall non-cleanliness. EEWWW.

I have mixed feelings regarding this site. The site is pretty level, large, and open. It is listed as 4 separate sites. However, in my opinion it should only be one. We stayed fourth of July weekend with extended family, so took up all 4 spaces. If we were camping alone it would have been very awkward if someone else had rented any of the other 3 sites. The outhouse was disgusting, clearly not serviced regularly and smelled like rotting feces. It is located on a fairly quiet part of the lake but accessing the water was challenging due to tall weeds and no dock. This site could be great if listed as an individual spot, the outhouse was maintained, and there was a dock to assist with accessing the water.

Nice vacant lot on Butternut. We had a pop up, small travel trailer and a tent. All fit well. We spent most all of our time on the water! Butternut is very nice.

My girlfriend and I went here with our dog to see how the pup would do camping, especially in a car, and it was a great place for that! It has a lovely view and having firewood, cooking equipment, row boat, and a private portapotty was a definite bonus! Only drawbacks for us had to do with the neighbors, we didn’t see them looking at us or snooping, but there isn’t much privacy. We did have a neighbor’s dog wander into our site while we were eating, while the doggo was friendly, something to keep in mind if your dog doesn’t do well around others.
We fully plan on booking this spot in the future and would highly recommend booking

We lost out on our normal camp spot and it was getting late. Trav got back to us quick and everything was a go. The spot was easy to find, clean and a beautiful place to wake up to. We were only passing thru so we didn’t spend a lot of time on the site but would definitely stay again!

We had a great and relaxing time at butternut lake! The new neighbor was super nice. We brought five dogs and the other neighbors dog was also off leash. So we had to leash one of our dogs to prevent him from going to play. But we still had a great time. Would visit again!

We loved camping on this property. Right on the lake. Get to watch the sunset- wood is already cut and ready to, even a wagon to carry the wood to the fire pit! Mosquitoes were HORRIBLE, but nothing bug spray couldn’t help.

What a beautiful place. It was so peaceful and lovely. Don't be scared off when you read there is no running water. There is a county park where you can take a shower for .25 cents a minute. Trav was a very responsive and helpful host. We throughly enjoyed our stay. It is a gem!

Trav’s Land was a great place to camp. The location was great for our group and it was nice and quiet. The site is set up well with the lake and ample flat area near shore for tents. The fire pit was awesome for our group to sit around and re connect. We will definitely be coming back again.

The site was awesome for the lake front view. Host was kind and generous with his responses. Loved waking up to the sunrise and views off the lake.
Wishes: Entry needs a few branches trimmed so reversing is easier. Neighbors were a little too loud - maybe it is to be expected on a holiday weekend. If so - avoid holiday weekends.
All in all - we had a great time at the site. Kids played, kids got dirty, kids found toads to collect, adults sipped a few glasses of wine, lit a whole lot of fire, ate ravenously, walked a few miles nearby, read a good book by the fire. Take bug spray along - mosquitoes are hungry. :-)
