Walk or drive to the adjacent state park featuring a Civil War museum and gift shop, playground, hiking to the mighty Gauley River. Pond Valley is two miles from Summersville Lake for boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, rock climbing and the Gauley River whitewater. Drive to the newest National Park at New River Gorge and everything it has to offer. Explore the new Summersville Lake State Park. Campfire: In provided location, firewood provided. State law prohibits bringing firewood across state lines. Bathroom facilities: TEMPORARILY CLOSED. Toilet in bunkhouse, soap and water for handwashing, cleaned daily. Garden hose. Trash bag may be dropped in the bin on your way out. Dump site nearby at Battle Run only $5.

I had to close early for medical reasons. Contact Julie (your host) and see if camping is available! Adjoining state park has trails and a museum/gift shop. 2,700 acre Summersville Lake is only 2 miles away. Newest National Park 15 minutes away. Camp in quiet harmony with nature. It’s a great place to stargaze! Level grassy sites behind farmhouse. Seasonal March 15-October 3.

Private and quiet and a great place to stargaze! Level grassy site behind farmhouse gives access to toilet and soap and water in the bunkhouse. Likely to view deer, turkeys, groundhogs, raccoons, rabbits, and a wide variety of birds. Likely to hear coyotes, birds, and frogs. Adjoining state park has trails and a museum/gift shop. 2,700 acre Summersville Lake is only 2 miles away. Newest National Park 15 minutes away. Camp in quiet harmony with nature. Friendly folks. Coffee/hot water for tea on request. Biscuits too if Julie is on site! Seasonal March 15-November 1. Discount for repeat campers!
