Special Battle Reenactment Weekend. September 14 at 1pm. See picture. "Gauley Days" refers to Gauley Season, a six-week period each fall (starting after Labor Day) when the Gauley River in West Virginia is opened with large releases of water, creating world-renowned whitewater for rafters. This event draws rafters globally to navigate the river's powerful rapids, particularly on the Upper and Lower Gauley. It also includes the annual Gauley Fest, held in Summersville, WV, which is American Whitewater's largest public outreach event, celebrating the river with various activities and attracting paddlers. See pictures! Four total tent or car camping sites, or small RV. Also a Keystone camper is available on site. (1 bedroom, 2 adults, kitchen, bath, living area. Very nice!) Maybe hear an owl or a coyote! See deer, turkeys, groundhogs, squirrels, rabbits. Expand your bird life list. The ponds are in the process of repair, but fishing is available at the lake and the river.

Loved tent camping on Julie’s land! She is so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. The land is gorgeous and spacious. Made the perfect home base for Bridge Day & exploring NRG & the surrounding area. We’d love to come back & spend more time here. Wonderful experience.

I loved camping on Julie's property. The site was very large and peaceful with beautiful views. It's easy to find and it was a pleasure meeting Julie. I hope to go back again in the near future.

Julie was a fantastic host. I requested a site a little further away from the others. Julie went above and beyond. She mowed an entire section for us. She helped us gather rocks to make a fire pit. She shared the history of her family’s farm. Her property is absolutely beautiful and I definitely want to return. Oh and New River Gorge National Park is just a 30 minute drive away.

Julie is super friendly, the spot nice and flat, and the farm is very large, beautiful, and quaint with some great old structures, wild turkey, and deer. The night sky was absoluting stunning, we could even see the milky way. We will be returning with more family to enjoy some star gazing, as well as the proximity to Summersville Lake, which is absolutely great for a boating excursion. Highly recommend if you need a spot to camp! Thanks to Julie for being such a nice hostess.

Julie is the best. Very flexible, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed. Helped us with local trip logistics and even made us biscuits! Beautiful spot. Def coming back.

Julie is wonderful! She was so welcoming and accommodating! When we arrived with my dog, we asked for a more private camp site and she let us camp basically wherever we wanted on her property! She brought us fresh-made biscuits one morning and was there to answer any questions we had! It was one of the best camping experiences I’ve had! Her property is stunning!!

We stayed at Julie’s back-to-back with two separate reservations due to a last minute change in plans on our end. She was very accommodating and responsive when we reached out about the change in plans, which we really appreciated! Highly recommend Julie’s land!

We loved staying on Julie’s land! The property is beautiful, and we really appreciated Julie’s personal touches and friendliness. She mowed a spot for our tent when we arrived, was very welcoming, and made hot buttermilk biscuits one morning! We would definitely stay here again!

Julie was very accommodating. She made an extra effort to get water going to the bathroom. She even offered to let me stay in her camper at no extra cost due to the rain. I was glad to not have to put up then pack up a wet tent. The land is beautiful! I will keep this area in mind for future trips to WV

Camping here was very nice. The farm has a lot of character and has a historic feel. It is listed as a West Virginia century farm and was established in 1917. The experience feels like living a century ago, especially when sitting in the front porch. The camping spot 1 is close to the house, so just consider that, but I had the place to myself. I had a great time.

The property is beautiful and really quiet. We enjoyed nice sunsets and sunrise. Julie was very friendly and helpful! The property is less than a 10-minute drive to Summersville Lake so convenient for that. Looking forward to coming back to the area!

I have very low levelers on my RV that seem to want to catch an anything. But made it up the drive with no problems. Met the host Julie. She’s sweet and helpful. Just stayed the night and she was very accommodating. We would stay again if back in that area.

Julie was a fabulous host. And even shared her fresh picked zucchini with us! The farm setting was peaceful and very quiet, and still just a few minutes drive from Summersville Lake! We saw many deer, along with the hummingbirds and butterflies that frequented the adjacent fields of milkweed.

Julie was very kind and accommodating, she greeted us despite our late notice and had set out a mat for our convenience. The property was beautiful and the scenery was incredible. Next time we’re passing through Summersville we will be sure to stay with Julie again!

Julie was incredibly hospitable and friendly. She has a beautiful property located near several parks. We enjoyed Babcock State park, Carnifex Ferry Battleground park, Glade Creek Grist Mill, and Battle Run Beach. Property is dog friendly and easily accessible. We will certainly be back! Thanks Julie

Julie was outside waiting for me to arrive. She showed me where to park. I needed an extension cord and she was grateful enough to give me one. The scenery was beautiful and it was extremely peaceful.

Ample space for our RAM truck with slide in camper. Attentive kind reception. Fire pit ready. Gorgeous land and fresh cut grass - all solid dry ground. Running water indoor toilet and quiet at night.

Julie was very nice and the land was very beautiful! Great spot for a tent. Awesome location for hiking and gauley fest. The spot is adjacent to the house and the other campsite. Someone was at the other site our first night, and they were very friendly so made for a nice experience.

Julie's farm is beautiful, peaceful and quiet. The forest that surrounds the fields is lush and has a mixed species of trees. I would recommend to anyone that likes a little more peace and quiet than your typical government owned grounds.

We spent two nights at Julie’s campsite and loved it. It was perfect for our weekend adventure, on a short notice too. Booked late on Thursday and arrived Friday night. Julie was a excellent host and very accommodating. Would definitely love to stay again some day

Beautiful property in a great location. Easy access to Summerville Lake. Camp spot was well manicured with a campfire, bathroom access, and firewood. I’ll definitely return!

I have stayed in a number of Hipcamp sites; this is my favorite. Julie was very hospitable, and her farm is beautiful. Convenient for activities in the area of New River National Park. also close to Carnifex State Park and Civil War battlefield.
