The owners of the site were very responsive and super friendly through messaging, the area was beautiful and close to trails, however it’s not as secluded away from people as I would have liked, directly across from the site is a house and people do drive down the drive way. Definitely a great place if you’re okay with still being around homes and people around!

I think this site is as-described in the listing! It’s a convenient location to several of the national park trailheads. The outhouse is cute and clean - you just take the trail that goes over the bridge and up the stone steps and you’ll find it (the tp is in the plastic tubs - I missed it at first!). I camped in my car just because the site is in a little rural neighborhood and directly across from a house - it seemed nice and safe, but as a single woman camper with my dog, I just felt more comfortable in a locked car. The only thing I’d change is maybe the fire pit walls being a little higher - it’s pretty low to the ground and I was worried about the sparks!

Overall a good experience but as others have stated, there are houses all around you… don’t expect privacy. Cars passing, dogs barking, neighbors doing construction. It’s okay if you need a quick stopover, has picnic table and fire ring but not for a quiet / secluded escape.

This is a lovely and easy to access site in a dispersed residential area. You're in the woods but next to a driveway. The setting is a charming Appalachian scene, complete with a small creek, a foot bridge, mature trees and walking paths. It is well-maintained and very clean, including the composting outhouse. The location is a couple minutes from the NRG Visitor's Center, so its perfect for local touring.

Beautiful little spot right in the heart of everything New River Gorge had to offer. I absolutely loved being one of the first on the Endless Wall trail, since the trailhead is just minutes away.

Lu’s Hipcamp had exactly what we needed including a restroom & privacy without camp neighbors. I couldn’t ask for more. Our dogs handled this much better than camping in park campgrounds.

This campsite was a perfect spot for our two night stay in New River Gorge! The location is hard to beat - it was just a few minutes away from the Endless Wall trailhead, the river rafting company we booked with, and the national park visitor center. The site is right off the road, but there's only a few houses on the street so barely any cars passed by. The outhouse was very clean and well maintained, but is up the hill from the main site area which makes it a little bit challenging to navigate in the dark.

Accessible campsite that was only a few minutes away (and mostly right turns, by car) from the gorge’s visitor center. There was plenty of downed brush for a fire and the cleared area near the creek was perfect for our tent. We also appreciated the nearby field for star-gazing and the picnic table made our dinner prep a lot easier.

My girlfriend and I loved the site. It was peaceful and mostly private although we did see/hear cars going by at throughout the day. It’s in a great spot within reasonable driving distance from everything. I thought the bathroom was very well done just look out for spiders. It was a great time!

If complete seclusion is necessary, house on adjacent property was visible from front of site.

Beautiful, quiet spot with an abundance of wildlife to observe! The outhouse was very nice, clean, and not too far away. This was our first time sleeping next to water and it was lovely! Highly recommended 😄

The sight was layed out very well and the neighbors were always honking and waving when they would pass I as a way of greeting. Definitely recommend trying out this one

Great location near the gorge. Near the wall trail with good views. We enjoyed the site little hikes for our 3 and 5 yo kiddos. Natural spring pool looked enticing for a dip.

Very pretty little campsite. We had room for our teardrop camper and space to enjoy the fire. You can tell it was put together with care. We never did find the composting toilet, but it was very close to the trailhead for the endless wall trail, so we could use those bathrooms. The location is absolutely perfect for the bridge section of new River Gorge. Close to town and convenient to everything. Highly recommend staying in this area!

Awesome location! Very cool campsite with lots of space to explore and a nice little creek. Extremely close to New River Gorge National Park and gives you easy access to anything you’d want to see, including Nuttallburg which is probably the hidden gem of the park. Highly recommend.

When I arrived, the lack of privacy (solo female camper with two dogs) and narrow gravel pad (for my Transit Connect) made me feel uncomfortable. The pictures on Hipcamp appeared more private and spacious. The facilities appeared to be a little uphill hike from the gravel pad. Unfortunately, I opted to drive the 5 hours home rather than staying.

The location is perfect-- very convenient to all things New River Gorge. The campsite is very quiet and clean. We enjoyed the gurgling of the creek and the birdsong. I heard several different warblers. The site is small, but our little teardrop camper fit perfectly. The composting toilet outhouse is clean, airy, not at all smelly and just a short walk away. The campsite is very near a quiet road and there's a house within sight, but you can arrange your campsite so that it still feels private. This is the perfect place if you want somewhere quiet to sleep after a day of exploring NRGNP.

This little site was a perfect spot to tent camp near a popular part of New River Gorge. It was private but very close to the trail head for the Endless wall and Fayetteville. We would definitely stay again if in the area!

Very convenient location to explore the surrounding park / Fayetteville during the day and crash at night. I would not stay if you are hoping to have privacy, views, or feel remote, as the smaller site is right on a public gravel road with occasional traffic (or loud ATVs). It was nice to have an outhouse available and there is a fire pit. The price is fair and I would stay again if camping solo and looking to explore all day.

Great place to camp!! Firepit and lots of sticks around to start a fire. We did hot dogs and smores by the fire it was awesome. There is an outhouse that’s tidy and just a small walk up the hill. (no tp so be sure to bring some). There is another house nearby but otherwise it’s pretty private. Easy directions and comfy area. Not far from endless wall trail which me and my boyfriend ended up hiking. Great camping trip would stay here again!!!!

Such a beautiful spot! I enjoyed every minute I spent under the tall trees next to the creek. Extra bonus was the outhouse with a homemade composting toilet. I had a nice campfire one evening and spent most evenings enjoying the cold while snuggled inside a sleeping bag. It felt so remote, but there was a sweet neighbor who tooted his horn in greeting as he drove by, and the little town of Fayetteville was only a few minutes away. Super quick to get to the Endless Wall for hiking or climbing. I would definitely want to return to this HipCamp!

Beautiful spot. Very private and quiet! Plenty of places to set up a tent along the little creek. The toads/bugs/whatever were so loud and I loved it! Even heard some owls. 10/10. Oh and everything is crazy close to drive to, so that’s a plus. I’ll definitely camp here again!
