The Prancing Unicorn Resort and Recreation (PURR) is an eclectic, boutique, private campground, located at the doorstep to the Olympic Peninsula. With easy access right off of Highway 101, it is a safe, convenient rest stop for visitors to the Olympic National Park, adventurers exploring the coasts, and cyclists biking Pacific Coast Route. Disclaimer: We are not a traditional manicured country club campground resort and may not be for everyone. Please reserve at your own discretion. Our space is an art collective, makerspace and event venue that host art and music festivals. It is eclectic, and can be messy at times with on going art projects, but that adds to the charm. We also have a "junkyard" area on property where we collect materials for repurposing, that may be perceived as an "eye sore." Some of the art displayed may challenge your sensibility. However, if you come with an open mind and perspective, seeking a safe private rest stop for the night in an eclectic art festival setting and surrounded by the sounds of birds and wildlife, you will enjoy our space a lot more, and we welcome you!

Totally worked for quick one night
Really great for a quick overnight before a Bikepacking trip. Field was plenty shady with many big trees and bushes between sites. Mosquitoes were thick in early July. Outdoor showers looked nice but I didn’t use them. Whole place was funky and interesting.

I found this campground to be a fun, quirky, surprisingly quiet campground. I assume it's because we visited on a random weekday, but there only seemed to be a handful of long-term campers there. We're quiet and boring, so it was perfect for us. If you can see the art all around as it is, rather than just seeing "junk," it makes for a more pleasant stay. I appreciated the clean (yet quite aging) bathrooms. They were pretty well-stacked, so when I forgot my toothpaste back at our campsite, I was still able to brush my teeth in the bathroom. Didn't see any of the wildlife mentioned on other reviews, but did see a resident cat appearing to hunt some of the wildlife. All-in-all, a great stay.

We had a private and level spot with easy access to water and the bathrooms. Our stay was short and quiet.

Campsite and campground is pretty unique and interesting. Not too crowded, pretty quiet even with the highway close by. Firewood is available which is convenient. Bathrooms are clean. Hot tub is not really usable. Way too hot, even after an hour with the top off. Our site had a lot of mosquitos, grass needs to be mowed more frequently and that should help keep the numbers down.

Deer, runny babbits, slugs, frogs and/or toads, robins, crows, northern flickers, swallows, cedar waxwings, dragonflies……quiet and peaceful- a small slice of ‘hippie’ for this desperately seeking Idahoan 😊 Briefly met Gino and seemed a genuine, likeable guy. Definitely recommend, and hope to return in the near future! Cheers and prance on 🍻🦄

Go ahead and go on in. It was really very nice. Great sites, lots of shade, and a welcoming camp host. An eclectic assortment of small business endeavors and a couple more permanent campers. Quiet, cool and convenient.
