Review from a novice camper!
We had a “beach front” camp site, which was great for watching sunsets and listening to the waves at night! Soft sand, we would’ve spent more time at the beach but we unfortunately went during the colder days of the week :( Was excited to see there’s a beach volleyball court but the sand looked pretty patchy with spiked grasses so we decided not to use that area. Quick drive to Lake Crescent which is super pretty. We wanted to paddle board there but ended up not having enough time. It’s about a 1.5 hr drive to Forks and La Push if you’re wanting a day trip outside the camp site, which we did on Day 2 and saw Rialto Beach, James Island Viewpoint, and First Beach. The fire pits don’t have a grate attached to them, so bring one if you plan on cooking steaks or other items that aren’t skewer-compatible.
VERY grateful for the main bathroom building on site, with 4 showers also connected to the bathrooms. Very clean, usually stocked with toilet paper and paper towels, no bugs or spiders hidden in the corners. Showers are coin operated and had good temperature/pressure. There’s also a set of portable bathrooms and an outdoor sink closer to the beachfront sites for quicker access instead of walking to the main bathrooms.
The site also has Wifi, which was definitely stronger near the main office but not strong at Site 61.
Overall a great site! I’m not much of a camper so these extra amenities are great for me, but I would definitely recommend to anyone of any camping level.
