Easy to check in. The outdoor showers and bathrooms were so cool. I felt very safe as a solo female traveler. And Judy let me borrow a sleeping bag! Thanks Judy! 💗

There was a lot of good things about this place. One, I was able to stay relatively far from most others, making it a little more private than a state park camp. The kitchen/freezer/fridge that is open for use was super helpful. I still cooked at camp and used a cooler, but doing dishes was great. The big field where we camped was soft, and drained well. The lawn was so nice, and great for kids to just run around. Lots of dogs here for my dog to interact with. There was a trail nearby that you could walk. This place was only 10 minutes from town. The hosts were very communicative, and the price was great. One thing that was not great, was that there was only one fire pit. I had thought there would be the ability to have one at our camp. One suggestion I would have, is to make the bathrooms accessible from outside the barn. It was a bit awkward to go through the barn to go to the bathroom. There was 2 women who basically lived in the common space, sitting right outside the bathrooms, and so you walk past them a dozen times a day when going to the bathroom, taking kids to the bathroom, or taking a shower. Felt like it was their house that I was using to go to the bathroom.

The property was peaceful and had a wonderful sense of community. I enjoyed the ammentiies and the walking trail to the pond as well. Very lovely place.

AYH Ranch is an absolute gem: a big open field with many different tenting spots, clean toilets, warm showers, a communal fire pit with wood, an adjacent natural preserve and close to town. The lovely and friendly Judy runs the place impeccably. Highly recommend, will come again. 5 stars all around.

Judy’s land was the perfect spot for an overnight stay on Vashon Island. We had our VW camper van and found a convenient place to park and spend the night. The facilities were great. There is a kitchen, showers, a large event room, but this time of year all was pretty quiet.

Don’t let the bargain price fool you; Amenities include showers, bathrooms, a communal kitchen & communal fire pit. Charming Plains Indian/Pioneer motif throughout. I especially enjoyed the “Ghost Buffalo” mural on the loft of the hangout barn.
Judy is working hard to install accessible paths through the property’s forested trails, so if you care about inclusivity this is a golden opportunity to support her vision.

Thank you Miss Judy for opening your property to Hipcampers. Don’t let the bargain price fool you; This property includes amenities like showers, bathrooms, communal kitchen & fire pit. Charming Plains Indian/Pioneer motif throughout. I especially enjoyed the Ghost Buffalo mural in the barn hangout loft.
Judy is working hard to create “freedom paths” to increase accessibility through her forested trail system; So if you care about folks with disabilities this is a golden opportunity to support her vision and have a good time yourself, too.

Vashon island is a perfect getaway, and Judy’s place is in a great location to enjoy all the island has to offer.

Great spot. Camped 1 night in roof top car tent. Plenty of bathrooms that are clean. Very nice grounds. Great for well behaved dogs. Great for kids to run around and play. Will be back if we are in the area again.

Loved this campground - best one of my roadtrip this year. Easy tenting in the meadow. And the bathroom has an outdoor sink under a roof, which is much more comfortable for putting in my contacts than your typical small, smelly indoor bathroom.
Also, Judy is very friendly.

This camp is beautiful! Everything is as described. The outdoor bathrooms are super convenient and not too busy. Judy is responsive and takes care of things nicely. If I am in the area again this will be my first choice!

We loved tent camping at Judy’s beautiful farm. She was so nice when we checked in and it is a gorgeous property with tons of space for dispersed camping. It was super peaceful all evening. We were ready to book our next stay right after leaving!

This is a great little campground. There are plenty of bathrooms and showers. Everything is clean and neat. This is a great spot for cyclist transiting through Vashon or visiting for a few days. It's close to the business district. I will definitely stay here again when on the island.

Great location close to the major town center of Vashon Island. We were cycle touring and it was relatively easy with one good little climbing hill both ways to get to/from town. The property itself is well maintained with plenty of tenting spaces along with a kitchen, bathrooms with showers and a communal fire pit. Definitely will return.

Judy clearly runs a tight ship! The property is absolutely stunning & incredibly peaceful & healing. The trail at the back of the property is amazing. She has a few sensible rules but overall chill. She isn't up in anyone's business.
My Frenchie has never been allowed off leach in such a setting & was over the moon happy about getting to run around with me leash free & he slept really hard, especially given it was his first ever camping trip. I felt safe, comfortable & free to do as I pleased. It was perfect.

We had a wonderful time camping at AYH Ranch! Getting there from the ferry was easy and there were plenty of spots to choose from when we arrived on a Friday evening. Judy recommended a spot in the shade for our little camper on a very warm weekend, which worked out perfectly. The bathrooms were clean and convenient. And because there are so many good restaurants near by, we didn’t even check out the kitchen. Look forward to camping here again!

This is a communal camp ground. If you’re looking to get away, this is not it. There are no individual places for tent camping, just an open field with no trees. If you’re bringing your dog, you might not have anything to tie your dog to. There was only one communal fire pit near the facilities. If you want a fire at your tent site, you need to bring your own fire pit. There might have been 4 picnic tables in the field. You can’t park near your tent site for unloading, loading and storing.
Other than that, the shared kitchen, showers and toilets were nice. There are communal picnic tables by the facility. There’s a communal great room with couches, tv, fireplace and pool table.
So again, if you’re looking for some seclusion and accessibility to your site with your car, your own fire pit and picnic table - this isn’t the place. This place is more ideal for large group camping.
We only stayed one night and left early. It seemed pointless to camp without a fire. Lesson learned for me is to not make assumptions and don’t fully rely on what’s written in the description. Ask questions before going.
