My wife and I had a mountain weekend getaway and this property didn’t disappoint! Lo is a super chill host. We had peace and quiet, didn’t see or hear another person around. There’s a large open area without tree cover for clear sky views. We saw plenty of deer hanging around. We look forward to going back.

Beautiful little clearing with lots of deer around! The spot was very private and well maintained. The driveway is definitely steep and cell service was spotty, but I was able to catch a signal a few times. Communication with the host was wonderful!

Campsite was exactly as described! Quiet, simple, and a beautiful clearing for stargazing. I was welcomed with a bundle of firewood and a chair waiting around the fire pit. The NP trails are an hour away minimum so keep that in mind if planning to hike the park. I would gladly camp again!

Nice private spot with lush ferns, moss, surrounding woods and open clearing for tent and firepit. The owner was so helpful with instructions, photos and even nearby food recommendations. He was quick to respond when I needed something. He even offered a refund if I wasn't happy with the place or it was not what I expected! I saw 3 deer the first night and heard 2 owls. When we were packing up camp the last day heard an owl in the woods. No road noise at all and very private feel.

Everything worked will with the site. It was very private and everything I needed for a quiet night . The only thing I would be careful about is the ensure your vehicle has off road capability because the drive up there is bumpy and steep.

Once you find the driveway, it was easy to find the site. Secluded spot to go camping, there is a neighbor down the hill but we didn’t notice them during our time. Nice area for a fire and a pretty flat location for a tent. The host was very accommodating and wanted to ensure that the space was nice for us. Located near the national park a few towns, so everything you need isn’t too far away.

I was really hoping for a better experience at the campsite, but unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. It felt far from private, and the noise from neighboring campers kept me awake most of the night. Finding a level spot to set up my tent was nearly impossible, making it hard to get any sleep. The presence of litter scattered around, including a dental retainer, a broken chair, and even a bag of poop, was just unacceptable. To top it off, there was no view to enjoy, and the lack of privacy was concerning. Unless there are some significant improvements, I can't recommend this site at all.

The camping space was quiet and private. The area was a short drive to a few hikes and 20 mins to the nearest grocery store for last min items. Would recommend!

We loved our stay as first-time tent campers! The campsite was perfectly secluded—just what we were hoping for. The whole experience was a 10/10. We’ll definitely be coming back, and next time, we’re bringing the whole family!

It was great. Gorgeous sunsets and it was a nice escape from the world. AWD/4WD is a MUST!! Saw a little bit of light from a house down the mountain but nothing that took away from the experience. Would love to take a trip back sometime this year! The owner responded right away and was super helpful with directions, same for the firewood delivery guy!

This is the perfect spot for the nature lover, but you have to be prepared to be completely self-sufficient. A fire pit is the only thing provided, so please bring your own bathroom facilities and so that others can enjoy the area after you please do NOT use the woods as your bathroom (finding toilet paper in the woods is gross). There isn’t much of a view from the clearing, but the entrance to the community offers the best sunset view.

We enjoyed tent camping on L’s land! The directions were very clear and the communication was great. The view from the top corner of the property was pretty cool. The star view was amazing! There is a slight tilt to the land no matter where you pitch the tent, so be super mindful of where you do. We brought our dog and she had a good time running around the field. It felt very private and vast. I would definitely return!

Spot was beautiful and private. Directions were easy to follow. As others have said, definitely need AWD/4WD to reach the spot. Our AWD Volvo wagon did fine. There is a great fire pit. I would suggest bringing a table. Highly recommend camping here!

Nice and quiet, simple campsite. The route to get here is about a mile of gravel and a steep, rough climb right before the site, though the listing mentions this. A regular car likely would not make the climb.
Site has a nice open field and a primitive rock fire ring. Firewood is available for delivery (and it's not expensive).
Only real downside is that there isn't a great flat place to set up a tent. You're not on a cliff or a steep hill, but you'll be tipped one way or another. A table would be a nice upgrade to the site so you don't have to bring your own.
We'll be back!

This was a great secluded spot for us to get away! I had ended a hike on Tanner's Ridge Fire Road where my husband picked me up then we were just a few minutes away from camp. We always love a good backcountry experience. And the provided lawn chairs were a nice touch as well! This was our first time camping with our dog and she loved having the open field to explore in and we loved that we could always keep an eye on her. Would definitely recommend this location!

It was a great spot right outside of the cute town of Stanley. Easy access to Shenandoah Skyline Drive. Quiet and undisturbed. Saw some turkeys and woodpeckers! Definitely need the SUV or Subaru!

Cozy little spot with a fire pit. Feels very private. I needed a weekend to decompress and get a long hike in. Admittedly I was feeling pretty antisocial and this did the trick- had the whole camp to myself and my dogs. Thanks so much.

Great Site with a very communicative host. Host left clear instructions and was helpful. Site was in excellent condition. Had a fire place and some chairs. Area to pitch multiple tents not to far from the fire as well. Would recommend this to seasoned and amateur campers. Very quite and remote spot nestled in the trees. Neighbors light was present but if you park a car in front of it you forget its even there. Stars are no joke here as well. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to camp Shenandoah with out the Shenandoah rules in the park.

The location.. I couldn’t had ask for a better location to disconnect from and some fresh air. This is my first time at a campsite like this, being primitive style. It’s really a kick back, good energy and relax style area.
I will plan on going back, maybe during a new moon to get more sky gazing.. but the new moon was also a special treat, it’s like nature nightlight.
